Oney: One's morality is determined by their thoughts and memories, and should be punished and rewarded for their beliefs. Matt: One's morality is determined by their actions, and should be punished and rewarded irregardless of their beliefs.
I totally identify with Julian in this regard. As soon as a conversation heats up I don't feel like I can get a word in edge-wise and just sit back and enjoy.
I mean... Mabye if I was irrationally mad at it but, Dingus Dongus and Matt are right. Just because say you have created clones of "The Three Stooges" doesn't mean they are gonna be funny. They could end up being racist or whatever... Your brain is a "biological computer" take "Deadpool" for example, he has regeneration as a power but, if his brain is fully destroyed it will regenerate, but if it we're more realistic he would have no idea who he or anything else is. So in conclusion you can't clone a human with all of their memories and personality because those aren't genetic as stated by Matt and no, little Hitler and Osama clones don't deserve to be tortured. Remember... If you clone yourself there's no knowing how he'll turn out untill it's too late.
I think I figured it out. What Chris is hinting at is, you could torture him and be knowingly in the wrong, but the little Hitler would think it was deserved due to his memories, or whatever, and that's where the moral dilemma comes from. Chris is just shit at explaining literally all of his hypotheticals.
I thought it was a case of if you could separate the actions from the individual: yes, this is a clone identical to the person who did bad things, and is in a position where you could do anything you wanted to do to them, including punishing/torturing them. But would you, considering that this isn't the one to actually do those things? It's supposed to be a thought experiment similar to see if you could overcome/dismiss stereotypes and prejudices you have against a group of people, right?
Here's a wrinkle. It's said that the human body, through metabolism, shedding of skin, etc., replaces all the matter in itself with new matter every seven years. Let's assume that's scientifically accurate. That means the "you" who's walking around right now is a perfect copy of the you from back then, assembled piece by piece on the frame of the old. The only difference with this clone situation is time. You came into being gradually, the clone was brought into existence all at once, you can't exist at the same time as your past self and the clone can, but it is the same process. We can say the same of your mind. Over time, your mind changes. Physically, the brain rewires its connections. Even if the actual matter doesn't switch out, its configuration does change. Your ideas evolve. You learn, and forget, and change your opinions. You're not really the same person you were as a baby. You don't identify with the goo-goo gaga mindset. But when does that baby end and your present self begin? You can't even draw a throughline by the continuous process of consciousness itself. That is broken all the time by sleep and so on. Identity must be a transcendent property, extending across physical material, or else we are not who we were a moment ago. Oneyplays have basically recreated the Swampman thought experiment by pure coincidence, despite having no formal training in philosophy, and I am here for it.

Nice one, man! Reading your self criticism, I think I can give you some pointers about the FLCL parody- as I did one myself a while back (my vinesauce video like halfway in or something). It was super rough and I can't stand looking at it now, but it kinda works, despite that. The first thing is trying to make it look like it came out of a manga magazine. I see you used some kind of texture, but bear in mind that they usually use really cheap paper that has all these markings over it, and you can see the page printed on the other side, which adds to it, I think. The texture I used is from a scanned page of an actual one I found lying on the floor at a train station, but you can probably find cheap ones online or just find uncleaned scanned pages online. This means you can use some of the extra crap running down the sides of the pages to make it look authentic, although I'm not as good with camerawork as you are, so I didn't utilise this detail very well Another thing is to add screentones, and avoid anything that makes it look digital, any smooth tones can break the illusion. Again, you can find a bunch of these online, and you can apply em in whatever way- I used scanned screentones myself, but if you're smart you could make a brush out of them. The original scene had page turns, so adding those in might have helped, but it all really depends on how far you wanted to go. Even in the show they said how it took more work than the normal production, lol You say that you didn't like how fast this went, but that's what made the original scene so funny, and it really workshere, too- the camera movements are really well done, you were super inventive here. Don't be too down on yourself, this was a really fun video
The real question is.. If you copied yourself (body and mind) and that copy went on to become the next Hitler through no fault of your own, should you still be held accountable?
Hmmm I would say yes Because if the clone immediately did that right after being cloned then that idea would be in myself and I could have done this myself all my clone did was making the idea into a reality So I technically have done these actions but myself hasn't
No, that's not how that works. We may have the same origin point, but we clearly deviated to the point where he would be nothing like me. This is like killing Hitler's parents for creating Hitler
If you seen the previews from the Lord of the Rings animation being made... yeah I think I'm gonna have to eat my words in a few weeks when it's complete.
I'd pity the clone, cause clearly he was created and manufactured with those memories for the sole purpose of potentially being tortured forever. No autonomy in this situation, he only exists to suffer here, beyond that his existence is meaningless. If somebody wiped your brain, filled it with the memories of Osama or Adolf, gave you surgery to look just like them, then shrunk you to tiny size, do you think you deserve to be punished for the actions of the person who you were made to look and think like?

animated shit lmao
hes european, of course he believes in thought crimes
I love how you draw Matt's hair (and also how you draw in general, you've got a great style!) Matt's hair reminds me of Johnny Bravo's hair but you're always changing it's length in the videos, it's a nice style choice 10/10.
Wtf was that last part?
I’m pretty sure this whole argument happened because Chris forgot the word consciousness
chris's reason for hitler being a clone does make sense. it is a moral dilemma. hitler is most likely inherently evil whether he actually did anything or not. BUT would you punish someone for thought crimes?
Remember the time Chris killed Ding Dong
