Amazing and beautiful artwork!! I wonder how long it takes for him to complete these masterpieces.
As a Drywall Finisher myself, me and my family always said Drywall Finishing was an art. This proves it and takes it to a whole new level !

When I was a kid for a couple summers I was a drywall taper. As an adult my profession has been some medium in art. I never thought of combining the two. I really enjoyed watching you create your work. It’s was wonderful. Thank you for posting.

HEY! How do you keep your sculptures from falling off the wall? I am trying to add some sculpture to a painting on a canvas and am having trouble figuring out how to fasten the clay to the canvas without losing it. Also, would your plaster work as well as clay? I'm willing to pay for your help.

I have a new technique idea if this was a business: I would use Zbrush, or Muddbox for the sculpt. 3d print or cnc on styrofoam, attach to wall, cover with putty, paint, charge client & repeat. 1. Advantage = that its lighter, the material will not be as heavy on the wall. 2. Sculpts can be edited and reprinted to sell to multiple clients if so desired. 3. Artist can achieve consistency by using zbrush, cnc, or 3d print, thus increasing quality. 4. A website can be built to contain a gallery of all the artist work and customers can choose the artists for their walls. 5. If clients fall in love with previous work, its only a click away. 6. History & time will be in the favor of this business as it attracts new artist, instead of working against you. It would truly be sad if artists like DrywallNation just dies or physically over time won't be able to make this product when they reach old age. 7. Revenu can be shared or payed out to the artist like a dividend if the art sells. Anyone have any thoughts on this, or want to make this happen?

Great work +Bernie Mitchell firstly want to say your work is awesome. Have a couple questions, I am a plasterer by trade, wondering if you are adding anything to your compound? or using anything like SHEETROCK? Also for your bigger pieces, like the main subject. Is it entirely compound? As you know, thicker compound has a tendency to crack as it cures. I am also a artist(airbrush etc) as well out on the eastcoast. Was thinking to try something like this. as a project. If you wouldn't mind you can send pm a PM on any tips you may have. Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks

I think I should win, I am an 80 yr. old female who has been an artist all my life. I created a technique in my younger days of using red clay with rabbits glue on canvas. of course I had many failures but became proficient in the technique. I would love to combine what is in my minds eye into a wall sculpture painting. I wish to know what he is using how he prepares the wall board to have the compound he is using for it not to release from the wall. what is the liquid that he used prior to applying the compound. To learn and experiment with the physical material to be able to create what is in my minds eye wound be awesome beyond belief. I also do creative quilts. In each quilt there has been a third dimension, and I believe it would be a climax and an extension of my work. because of a limited budget. and all the expense in working at failing to learn what works best , I think I should win. If I am given this chance I would openly teach all there is That I have learned to further the art form. Not everyone was meant to be a Dr. Lawyer, computer expert, there is nothing wrong with being an artesian. We do not have enough.

Maria, I must say for 80 years of youth, you are very wise to have such a competitive spirit. I think you should win too. I'm guessing he used "drywall primer" or some other kind of primer/glue in order to get maximum cohesion between the gypsum board and the mud compound. In my experience as an artist/builder I've found priming of materials to be paramount when it comes to making a lasting bond. As to what specific brand or formula I can only guess, but wouldn't mind knowing myself. I could name a few brands, zinsser, rustoleum, kilz to name a few that would all likely do the trick.
Your clay and rabbit glue on canvas sounds very interesting.
