Agreed! There's quite a few love songs from the 80's, like "Nothing's gonna stop us now" by Starship and "Hungry Eyes" by Eric Carmen, but this song takes the cake in my opinion
I came of age in the early 80's and I'm now preparing my jump drive with my favorite songs for the 2000 mile trip to pick up a new dog, a beautiful female borzoi. This song made the list. Thank you Pat Benatar and your team for this wondrous, moving, anthem. Life is short....and I'm glad I lived to hear music from this golden age from the 60's thru the early 90's. "We're drivin thru the shadows of the night, so puppy put your head in lap tonight." :-)
I am almost 15... My generation has a majority of idiots when it comes to music. As well as pretty much everything that has to do with individuality. I look at my school and I see a bunch of clones.... *sigh* Why could I not have been born in another era?
George Vreeland Hill Agreed! The fact that the singers today almost always produce pop garbage kills me. No one's trying to do anything clever with music anymore. I'm not saying songwriters need to use Shakespearean language, but they should at least have smart and simple way of expressing their views on something
Pat Benatar "Get Nervous" Tour 1983 my first concert. Finally got to meet her in April. She's so nice and still petite! Been rocking to Patti B since 1979; went to 4 Pat Benatar concerts this year; they are still rocking. Seeing her as much as I can while she's still touring. She'll be 60 January 10th; she still sounds awesome and no lip syching like MDNA!
I'm 13 and actually like these kind of songs people be jamming in der car with windows down listening to rap and I'm over like YEAH AHHH ROCK N ROLL... and my mom's bf loves tool
I graduated 85 and you are absolutely right! We lived it ! The music was the best, and like you .. even though I didn't realize it at that time.. we grew up in the best generation ever and I am so glad I saw it all first hand. My youngest ask me all the time about it. I wish the world was still that way sometimes lol
Jennifer Hughes I grew up with Partridge Family TV Show 1970-1974. I Blame Partridge Family music turning me into Rock n Roll freak. I went to Stadium Concerts in Buffalo, NY at age 12 Rolling Stones Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Bad Company, Journey, Alice Cooper, Bob Seger, Allman Brothers, Country singer Alan Jackson, Lynyrd Skynyrd came to Buffalo. It was cool most Bands opened saying HELLO BUFFALO. Im sick of our City being called SNOW CAPITAL OF USA. But its true we get 10-12 feet every winter from Lake Erie. Even Worse we cant enjoy the Lake till July because the Lake frezzes over every year. There was a Quote years ago people are afraid of Buffalo like people are afraid of the movie JAWS. That Quote was from 1977 Blizzard. Craziest winter ever it snowed every day in December & January for a total of 19 feet. City & Schools closed for 3 weeks. We only got Visitors because Niagara Falls is close. No one knows not even the weather people of all other Citys near 5 Great Lakes why Buffalo gets the most snow. 1 good thing they call us Miami of the North because we get a lot of 90 degree days in summer. Always WHITE CHRISTMAS IN BUFFALO
Pat Benatar and her band could possibly be the most underrated talents ever. I mean, have you ever really listened to the words to these songs let alone the melodies? Ever hear her really, and I mean REALLY sing? HUGE talent. These are early 80's songs and 99% of their songs could ALL be Kelly Clarkson or Lady Gaga or Pink etc #1 hits today. These aren't your typical 80's pop musicians. Real serious talent here. And I say that being a 1962 baby and living through the 60's and 70's with the best music ever made. Love this band!.
A lot of the music I listen to may be old but it is good music from the 60's & 70's! I must be stuck in a time warp! If so, I never want to leave here & be updated!
I was born in 1986, but I couldn't live those years like and adult obviously... and now as a full grown-up, I wanna have a time machine that brings me back into those years. The music and EVERYTHING was just so much better back than! But hey, we still got those rare moments left when we listen to those masterpieces and feel like we're living the 80's. That's why I love this song so much, it really takes you back to those powerful years and makes you feel the moment when the song was born. LOVE!
I grew up in the 80's and lemme tell you, all my friends also mis the 80's the music was the bomb fosho. some REO, Triumph, styx, rush, van halen, journey, I had the best times of my life back then! way to go Blaze, blow it up! gl

Dear young people ...
This is what real music is like.
I am almost 15... My generation has a majority of idiots when it comes to music. As well as pretty much everything that has to do with individuality. I look at my school and I see a bunch of clones.... *sigh* Why could I not have been born in another era?
