But the difference is the voice type, Tim is a bass, so Tim's low notes will be more full and powerful than Chance who is a baritone with a good low extension, Chance can have the same range as Tim. But the voice type and timbre change all.

However, Modern Country, Country Rock, Southern Rock, Southern or Country gospel, Or RnB country-- (if there was such a category)--- Is definitely there ** BREAD N BUTTER**!!!!!!
Everyone is freaking out about Tim, but Adam Chance is a freak of nature! Chest voice G1-G4. And he gets up to F4 with ease, Tim is half screaming at F#4, and can't go near as low in his chest range (usually, he does have the low F# in Butts)
I don't believe those highnotes are chest. It's in the middle of his beatboxing shtick with highly constrained and stacatto vocal noises, it's gotta be falsetto.
Ethan Hayden They're both baritones and in my oppinion, Tim has a better voice and Growling and Fry sounds quite good most of the time. Bass isn't just about the lowest but also about a good voice at that low notes.
I'm a baritone too very similar to Chance, and yes he should easely hit G2. In studio maybe lower, or with some training go for the live performance to F# or even F. Lower than that is just change technique and smooth growl.
Love this! Shows all of your AMAZING talents! I can listen to your songs over and over and each time I hear something different that wows me!! :) Keep on Keeping on!!!
Are you sure that the F1 at the Sing Off wasn't a growl? It's a live performance so for me that is reason enough to doubt that he just goes lower than any studio version of any other songs. Also, he adjusts his head to a position that produces a better growl, and you can hear the breathy growl sound when he starts it off. So, knowing my own growls, I think this is a growl, and thinking of the likelihood of a live F1 in chest (and how that would sound), I'm pretty sure that that's a growl :P
Hey Tomi, I've been thinking, what if you started making... like a vocal range in a single song of a band. For instance: Home Free vocal range - California Country or Tim Foust vocal range - Honey, I'm Good. I think it's a good ideea (and a lot of work as well) but I think it's worth it :D
I'm not musically trained, but I find all the range videos fascinating. I have always been interested in what Tim actually does when he goes from high to low (or vice versa). From the first time, I heard Tim I've been in search of clarity. So I would love a video like that.
Love all the work that you put into this. However, the example you use for Rob Lundquist's highest falsetto note is incorrect. At that point in the song, Rob is singing the lead vocals & cant be hitting the high note that you hear. I'm pretty sure that Austin is the one hitting those high notes.
wait, hold up....that was not Home Free Adam Chance was in. I know (I think) he was in VoicePlay/on The Sing Off, but what was that with "Misty Mountain" and "Madness"? Who was he singing with there? He's really good! Glad he's now in Home Free!
You should've put Chris Rupp in there just because he's in most of the videos. Also some of the growls and chest notes are a little of but overall a great job.
I just want to be clear,,,,Tim Foust is a Bass, not Bass-Baritone or Low Baritone He is only trained in singing his higher registers but he has a much lower tessitura than bass baritones and much darker timbre in his voice. I am also a Bass, but my highest note in mix is Bb4 I can also hit D6 using my falsetto register My lowest chest-Fry note is Eb1 But my tessitura is F#2-F3 That is the range of my normal speaking voice
I'm a bass singer myself my range goes from C1 - F#1 - D5 - Eb6. thanks to Tim my favorite bass singer and Geoff I can sing lower and higher. I picked up on there techniques and trained by singing along with them.
AlphaIkaros Actually. He is a baritone. He can just hit low notes. Voice types aren’t always indicative of range. Some tenors can hit a B1 and some basses can hit the 6:th octave. It’s more about comfort and resonance. As well as timbre.
This was done 6 years ago. I would be interested in seeing an updated version. I know Tim uses different vocal techniques and I would think the others do too
Why did you use the E5 from Country Harmony for Austin? it's such a brief note. I would've used his E5 from My Church, personally Also, I think Adam's G1 from the Band of Merrymakers version of O Holy Night would've been better to use. I don't even think that the G1 from Die a Happy Man is real anymore, more than likely just a bass boost
Hm, what about for those people who don't have time to watch the previous video and only wanted to watch this one? Besides, this is a video for the whole Home Free band. Big video, you need big notes
Can you remember what your vocal range was when you were 13? I'm curious as to if i have any hopes of being as low as you. I'm 13 and lowest note is between E2 and F#2 and I'm still getting lower.
TheComedyne Depends on the person, really. While your voice will continue to deepen throughout your life, you only really have one voice change, and it's different for everyone. My brother's voice change happened basically overnight when he was 13, and would show it off by singing the low C in Elvira all the time. My voice change happened slowly over the course of about five years starting at 13. I wouldn't hit a low C until 16, and that was when i got a bunch of low notes out of nowhere to cement myself as a bass (my choir teacher refused to let me sing anything above the lowest bass voicing outside of solos in any group i was in). Basically, every voice is unique. The most important thing to know is that depth will come with time, and you'll just have to be a little patient.
Thanks for the advice, this really goes to show that the youtube comment section isn't entirely hate, i think my voice is more likely to change slowly as i find myself singing a semitone lower every few months, it's just been my aspiration to have a voice like Avi Kaplan or Tim Foust, i've never wanted to have a voice like Paul David Kenammer because that type of voice is so deep you stop being able to hear the notes but i'd like to be able to sing along to the bass part of all the home free songs without having to growl half the notes so pretty much A1 will do me just fine. I have plenty of time left though and i will be patient.
ThePi314Man found this comment and realised I was really impatient then, all it took was keeping up with practice and now I can get C#2 most of the day and on mornings I can get Bb1
Home Free and pentatonix are great but deep down we all know that when you, Mr. Tomi Pizur grow older, you're gonna give them a run for their money! greetings from India.
I don't think so actually. Few weeks ago i heard him live and omg, that's something entirely different! If he's not bass than no one is. He has just trained his voice to upper levels.
Weird to think people have always considered Avi Kaplan to have a super deep voice and yet here we have clear examples of Adam Chance, the BARITONE of Home Free going just as low as Avi, and the tone is pretty decent, at least down to Bb1.
They can go from A0 (Which is INSANE) but only until D6, and Pentatonix just from D1 until B7 (Which is INSANE TOO)!! so both group are amazing in their own way -sorry for bringing ptx here-
There's a clip some where of Tim singing "Oh what a beautiful morning" chorus at E1 but i can't find it now. I'm not sure if its chest of fry or both but its there all right.
The base guy is the lowest base singer in the books. Tim Foust, the bass singer for the all-vocal country band Home Free, can sing notes as low as A0. His vocal range covers five octaves, from A0 to F1, Bb4, and A5.
