This is the fate of all of us. That or burned to ashes. We should all remember this every day, then, although it may be a shock to lose people, we'll have a chance to overcome grief, and not fall into complete vengeance. That is worse than anything Nikolas did. It's very sad to see these people choose the latter. They are holding themselves in the fire of torment, while Nikolas has a chance to accept the gift of mercy and finally be free from a life of torment. It's not just ignorance that blinds the victims, but revenge. Revenge never works, and I hope and pray they will start to heal in the knowledge of who God really is. Many of these statements show these people have absolutely no understanding of God. They can help themselves and other's by learning about spiritual warfare and really looking deep into the meaning and purpose of life, its struggles and its blessings. Every disaster can become a blessing. To hear many say that their life is destroyed and over and over say how they will never be ok, doesn't have to be true. There is a way to move forward and find peace. How can their children find peace of soul if their parents remain here suffering in torment from the vengeance they hold. Something to think about.

The woman whose sister, Helena, passed during the shooting broke my heart. I can't help but imagine losing my baby sister like that. She's so strong for even showing up to court and speaking. She kept it together so well and spoke so eloquently, something I don't think I could've done.
Life in prison is not enough justice for this horrible coward.

The Judge proved she is an uneducated disrespectful piece of garbage who cares more about her looks and winning favors with the audience than doing her job properly. Re-watch the whole trial and see how many times she messes up (if you are an attorney, otherwise never mind you won't understand). Of course, since the defendant WON their case because of her screw ups, you won't see the many grounds for appeal. Apparently she skipped 6th grade where they taught us there are time differences on planet earth. She admitted she had no idea the state of Washington on the West Coast was in a different time zone from Florida. How, just how can you be so stupid and a judge. Disbar. Of course the Chief PD will file a complaint against her for her lack of ethnics and conduct against him. Just because you don't like a verdict doesn't make you right about anything. One day you will need a PD but people like you will outlaw them.

The PD was doing their job. What you call complaining is called a legal objection. IF they defendants has lost, which they did NOT, you would have seen the list of things the idiot judge did incorrectly. I am very surprised the prosecutors lost this case, it was a slam dunk, it shows you how bad they were to lose. Someday when you are arrested and have no money to hire an attorney, I hope you are denied any PD counsel because you decided PDs should not exist. You sound so immature. So, you think state sanctioned murder of another person is perfectly ok. As long a more than one person authorizes it, you think it is fine to murder someone. So you are exactly like Nik Cruz, no better. When it is enough, then his family should murder some person, and they should murder the murderer etc. Until one person rises above, you are nothing but an animal. I am sure you are not a Christian because the Book of the Lord, and the laws etched in our hearts tell us we have no right to take another life, that is God's decision not yours. What is worse is your judgment of people like the PDs that you don't even know yet you believe you are better than them and can judge them for doing their jobs. That kid will likely be killed sooner in general prison than sitting on death row for an average of 18 years anyway. Either way, you get your murdering wish and can join the ranks of murderers out there, no better than Cruz.

This trial has been a circus...Judge jennifer Dower would have ran this case way better imo...She is patient, classy, extremely intelligent, eloquent and her focus is purely on running a courtroom and not focusing on her looks and not hair flipping knowing that this case was also televised. The way she treats the prosecution, the defendant , victim's family and the jury is admirable and that is why.she is getting tons of fan letters and praise in comment sections of all videos relating to her case. The defense and prosecution arguing with each other and the defense arguing with her is because they do not respect her and I can see why. Install cameras and when there's a Code Red, link those cameras directly to the police department so they know exactly where the shooter is and can act accordingly.
I feel all police officers should have SWAT training and all police officers should have protective gear (body shields) like SWAT for every officer available.

So in your logic, Hitler, Stalin, Mao Zedong, and other friends of yours are perfectly fine slaughtering millions because lots of other people agreed with the killings and they were not sole shooters. The mob mentality of everyone I see in these comments are literally as scary as the old Twilight Zone episodes. Literally the PDs were doing their jobs, and you never saw all the death threats they received over and over for "doing their jobs" only their Chief PD did and he tried to speak on their behalf but that loser judge REFUSED to let him speak. As long as things go the way you want, slaughtering is fine, torture is fine. What Cruz did is disgusting and hurtful, and horrible, but we all have ONE true judge, and it isn't me, if God wanted him dead he would have died like most school shooters but he didn't. Maybe God had a greater punishment in mind than sitting in jail for 18 years then being put to sleep. Why did we go through a trial, the cops could have just shot him when they tagged him a few miles outside school. The creature with way too much clown make up to be taken seriously as a judge, who is also unaware that the US West Coast is a different time zone from the US East Coast, is the most undereducated, overly sensitive, unaware of the legal rules of evidence based on her rulings, creature that had zero control of her courtroom. Just because you like her one-sided obvious bias does not mean she did the right thing ethically. You should NOT have even known whose side she was on, yet everyone in the audience, TV, juries, etc. knew which side she favored. Not lawyers, and certainly not jurors. They would not have had closure from a death sentence. Especially in this case where there 100s of appeal points -like some of the families said it’s 18 year average from verdict and execution. That’s average - not for him because of this trial and the way it ended up, alongside effective expensive attorneys - could have been decades of stressful appeals. It makes them feel like they "lost". Looking at Brooks case in Wisconsin where there is no death penalty - he will get hundreds of years of jail time, and in that case it will just be done and dusted. 49:35 is what the defense team is upset about regarding their children being brought up? She merely said how can you face your children, family, society after helping a murderer escape justice. Then they’re mad bc Max Schactner spoke only facts, tore them to shreds and pointed out they’re liars.
The judge was much too lenient on the defense team. The way they disrespected her they should have been sanctioned held in contempt. My moms a retired court reporter, while watching this with her she was disgusted how the defense team disrespected the judge over and over. “When you ask for a recess and the judge says no, you say thank you, your honor, and shut up and sit down you don’t argue with the judge.”
The way he turned his back to the judge while she was addressing him was disrespectful as well. The defense team is trash and she was much too lenient with them, gave them too many chances.

Now they don't want to sit and hear about how disappointed they are and how disgusting the families found the defenses' behavior. They should have thought about that before given this tragic case and how public it also was. Most people have basic empathy they seem to lack. Its almost as if Cruz couldn't have found a better defense team to match his soul. I'm sure that they are receiving backlash for their lack of empathy and I am never for anyone getting bullied or hate online. But I do wish that they recieve some sort of consequence for the most demoralizing and unprofessional behavior that they have shown the victim's families, in a professional way. They want revenge and justice. Multiply that by a great deal and add in a completely broken person from pre-birth, and then you'll maybe understand the vengeance and need for acknowledgement that the defendant fell into on that fateful day. Both very wrong but any disaster can become a blessing. We all must find and accept mercy and forgiveness if we don't want to perish as a tormented soul for eternity.

Not excusing any violent acts at all, and just to make it clear he, and other mass murderers should definitely be removed from society but that is only after the fact. The ideal cannot be seeking justice after tragedy but to prevent tragedy in the first place. Him dying will not bring the victims back nor will it save the next. He might be afraid to die but most mass killers want to die so the death penalty is not something that will prevent them from doing so..
