To anybody watching this who’s enjoyed colleen hoover, because it’s on trend to dislike her books, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying them if you do! She’s not my top author, but I’ve loved so many of her books! I feel so many people are jumping on the hating her books bandwagon! There’s no right or wrong with what authors you enjoy / don’t enjoy, do you!❤ That being said, I enjoyed the video as always Sara and completely respect your opinion on it ❤️
@@KeyondraHarris From what I’ve heard her son SA’d someone and she defended him, which is pretty crappy especially considering one of her most popular books is about *not* defending that kind of thing
@@etlthornburgh ehhh, i wonder when that happened bcus "it ends with us" its almost like she wanted readers to feel remorse for the rapist... i also got that vibe from Hopeless too. She always makes the rapists sound like these perfect ppl that just made this "little" mistake.
@@KeyondraHarris I needa reread It Ends With Us tbh because I read it when I was just starting my “booktok” portion of reading and I didn’t get many of those vibes at the time but looking back yeah that honestly makes sense. I liked Ryle for a long time in the book up to a certain point but I know people who still defended him even after reading the whole thing which is… concerning
I actually love this concept because I give 5 stars so easily but to books so different from one another sometimes it confuses even me. It’s really cool to see you make the distinction between 6 star reads, solid 5 stars, books you’s change the rating of and books you just don’t feel the same about anymore. Really cool video!! 💗💗💗
Good video! I just purchased three books! 👍🏼 📚 I see a lot of negativity towards Colleen, yet her books seem to have “initiated/started” reading for many. It’s alright to “grow out of” particular authors, but IMO some just jump on supposed “cool” train. Sort of reminds me of something similar that happened to one of my favorite artists.
I would LOVE to see you make a video re-reading Colleen Hoover books. Especially since you have no idea what you would think of them now. I’m so curious!
sara's in her consistency era, and i'm here for it!! there are literally some really great books within the five stars! also, i think we could have all guessed where magnolia parks was going even before clicking on the video💕
I love this video idea! However I would have swapped the negative undertone of the "old me" section for the label "new reader." Those books tend to start many people's reading journey and they are so special because of that. Would I rate the 'Uglies' series by SW a 5 star read now like I did nearly 15 years ago? Maybe not, but it's still a 5 star read because of the 100s of dystopian fantasy books it both inspired in the genre and led me to read (and eventually write) personally 🥰
I’d love to see someone read the UK version of AGGGTM after reading the US one, because there are a lot of changes in it (setting changes, language changes and some sections are missing completely). Also I am so excited for the show and I have never felt excitement for a book adaptation than I have with this book!
you should do a blind date with a book thing, sometimes they have them at barnes and noble and other places have them and it would be cool to see you pick some out and read them!
It's so funny because for someone who never read any romance or in that general genre I started with CoHo books I Saw it ends with us at an airport lol and decided to pick it up, but after reading Emily Henry, Anna Huang, Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Abby Jimenez I realized I just like them way more. I don't like any CoHo books anymore besides Verity because Verity messed up my mind reading it in 24 hours.
Looove this video concept. Definitely took a screenshot so I can remember to read some of these books! Some of my other 5 star reads: Lessons in Chemistry (6-star), the Maid (5-star), Daughter of the Pirate King duology (5-star), By Any Other Name (comfort read)
The rain congratulates us when we kiss; or are the angels watering our scalps? The raindrops braid our hair into their twists as mouths dismantle; mouth from mouth dismounts. Indoors it seems we've come from somewhere else; some separate world is still inside our hair. How different does a person in Love sound? their words which dress a wounded atmosphere. Isn’t it beautiful how soulmates are? how magic puppeteers their chance to meet How feeble folds the raptor’s wings. Our arms; throughout a kissing on a rainy street. How could we prove such bonds were made before? a couple feeling like they’ve kissed before. ( a sonnet that i wrote today about soulmates)

I don't love Colleen Hoover, but I definitely am not on the hate bandwagon for her. But usually I don't love her books (November 9 is my most hated book. I do not hate any book more than that one. It wins the hate contest) HOWEVER, I knew I wanted to read Confess because it seemed the most interesting (it was out of stock everywhere when I wanted it so I read some of the others) but anyway, I finally read it and loved it because it was what I wanted. colleen hoover's actions are inexcusable, but people really need to learn how to separate an author from her writing. like just because she's not the greatest person doesn't mean she can't be a great writer. many influential figures who contributed greatly to human advancement weren't great people themselves, yet we still respect their work. there's no reason we can't do the same with authors.
