That’s an option but I don’t think you’ll ever get as good as brand new👍🏻
Great job George.👍.... a mate of mine completely refurbed his steering wheel in his E90 a few weeks ago and fllocked the airbag.... looks bangin if i may say so myself, a project for my E60 msport i reckon
Yeah I was considering getting this refurbished but this wheel is heated so wrapping the leather again would make it not as warm. Not only that, the original leather is in very good consider with no signs of wear👍🏻

It really takes a tremendous amount of force to pop that air bag out, I could only get half of the top to pop and I thought either I was doing something wrong or that maybe there was a problem with my wheel/airbag but it turns out I had to give almost max effort for mine to pop out.
Nice video George, I removed mine then used acetone to remove the knackered rubber coating, it took some rubbing. Once removed I used some polish to bring it back to life. It now looks ace in a nice clean black and contrasts nicely with the rest of the wheel.
Yeah a lot do that but i'm not a fan, I think the OEM look is the best

Hi mate just a question recently purchased a 530d m sport 2004 and airbag needs replacing but did notice that on mine there's no wire plugged into the black terminal on the right but noticed there isn't one also on your video is this correct thanks
Looks great, but for some reason I only just noticed the wood trim in the background now...I'm quite surprised to see wood effect in an M Sport. What are your thoughts on it? Personally I think it's quite a unique touch but have you ever considered changing it to aluminium or carbon?
At first I was gonna replace it but it’s actually grown on me and think it looks quite classy.. It’s not the crappy light wood trim👍🏻

Awesome video 👌🏻 quick question, I've had my tracking done and it's spot on but the wheel is slightly off and very annoying. If i remove the wheel and put it a spline clockwise so you reckon it will throw the sensors out? Cheers 👌🏻
The wheel can only go on one way.. your wheel alignment is still off

I just swapped an m sport steering wheel on my non Msport car and my air bag light is on. Everything is connected properly, and all my buttons and horn works Would I need to recode the new air bag to my car?
Should be plug and play as long as it’s the same year ie not swapping a face lift for a pre face lift and vice versa
George, did you not have the airbag light come on when you refitted evrything? When I removed mine I couldn't get rid of the airbag light. I tried every trick available online and nothing worked. Had to take it to BMW to get it extinguished.
No because I disconnected the battery👍🏻
Do you need to unplug battery inorder to remove air bag?

My steering wheel is well off centre will I be able to recentre this taking the wheel off and refitting back a few splines to the left or does the wheel only go back on one way? Cheers

Do you have as option on this nice car the Departure Lane Warning assist ? :) this option make vibration to the steering whell wheel when you cross a road line :)
I would wrap it matte black good quality 3m with heat gun and use heat gun to get it in perfect shape. Then use an exacto knife to cut around the m badge.
I was considering wrapping it but it’s never going to be as good as OEM and I want this car looking as good as possible so no expense is spared👍🏻
I don't think you mentioned it, is there any reference mark between the splines of the column and the female bit on the steering wheel to get it back in the same position or did you just kind of eyeball it?

Hi George what percent tint are the rear tail lights on your e87? Also is the whole light tinted or is it just the indicator-reverse bit as I am looking to tint mine.

They're not tinted, they were like that from factory mate

They did, they were called black line tail lights I believe
