The Biolizard is the prototype of what ends up being Shadow. I think this theme not only suits Biolizard, but Shadow as well in terms of symbolism. The Biolizard is literally being supported by a life-support rig on its back, and Shadow is being supported by Maria's final wish. Also fun fact, Shadow's attitude towards the Biolizard in Sonic Adventure 2 and Generations are completely different. In Adventure 2, Shadow refers to the Biolizard as an ugly prototype. In Shadow Gens, he is more sympathetic and says he's going to put it out of his misery.
In the Japanese version of Shadow Generations he calls it a disgusting creature like he does in the Japanese version of SA2. Basically Shadow Generations in English is more of Ian Flynn's purple prose dialogue, while the Japanese one is more consistent with the character.
Something Ibfound interesting about supporting me is that some of the lyrics are in direct contrast or response to throw it all away. Try to listen one after the other and you'll see
@@Gecko_Zen That sounds like an awful lot of headcanon to me. Shadow was fully aware of what the Biolizard was even in SA2 and he called it a disgusting creature too. It's also pretty heavy on the fanon to lean into the "poor Biolizard" thing, if you ask me. It's a mindless, berserk organism. It also puts way too much stock in what has always been a core problem with the Shadow fanbase, even as far back as the early 00's: Excessive sentimentality and overuse of flowery, purple prose. Yes, Shadow has emotions. Yes, he has a troubled past. No, he does not wax poetic about it like some brooding teen vampire novel. That only happens later on when the entire Sonic cast becomes Flanderized stereotypes of their past characterization.
Nice reaction ZorDon! To hopefully answer your question on why there are 2 separate versions of “Supporting Me” in Sonic X Shadow Generations, fans have speculated that the version in the game is an unfinished or beta version of the song used because they were unable to completely finish the soundtrack before the game released. This can be inferred from the fact that the album release includes the vocals, but also a proper opening that when modded into the game, fits very well. It’s also possible that “Without You” by Casey Lee Williams was also planned to be added to the game but they were unable to make it before release either due to licensing or time constraints.
On the other hand, a trailer for the game DID include the vocals as well as some parts that were only in the final album release, so a version with those elements DID exist before the game released, so who knows.
@@jordancooney6817 Not in the Doom Powers trailer, which is what I'm talking about, that's the SxS Gens version (was our first time properly hearing it too I believe). All Shadow's stages song in SA2 has their vocal distorted. There were theory that it represents Shadow's jumbled state of mind after having his memory manipulated.
Idk if this is intentional or not, but I like how in SA2 "Supporting Me" is more mellow and has a darker tone and in it you fight Biolizard as Shadow, and in Generations it's more energetic and intense and you fight him as Sonic.
I love the ethereal-like sounding Live and Learn, I especially imagine it as it plays in the parts where Shadow is dodging the energy balls, and when he's airbone in the final phase.
Btw for the SONIC GENERATIONS version, that’s the Sonic Generations 3DS version; the game was released on both ps3/Xbox360 AND 3DS, but the 3DS version is basically a completely different but similar game. Biolizard isn’t in CONSOLE Sonic Generations. He DID however appear in Shadow Generations.
I am super happy you reacting to this song! It is my favorite ost in all of Sonic. Too bad you didn't get to see the yesman10 version of Shadow generations. Still recommend you check it out! As for the muffled voice in the song, it is a very recurring thing in the Shadow osts in Sonic Adventure 2. It is indication of Shadows state of mind. That is what is so great of the SA2 soundtrack, every character has their own genre and style of music. Making it ver unique. I can't wait till you check it out in its entirety! Also if you are ever considering playing a sonic game for the first time Sonic x Shadow generations is a great start. Especially Shadow generations.

Hey Zor, you should react to the remixes in “Sonic x Shadow generations” of songs you’ve already reacted to. This list is going to seem long at first but a couple of these are short and I’m also going to write a lot explaining what they are. I don’t know if you’re going to do this all in one video but I will say at the end I’m going to add an extra song. The first is the Title screen Theme. This isn’t a remix but a lot of it does contain parts of “I am All Of Me” and I figured I might as well add it since it’s a short masterpiece that lets you know your in for the adventure of a life time. I’m actually not entirely sure what this is but it’s called an extra remix so I’m guessing they added it to the album as a gift to us. Escape From The City (SXSG Extra Remix): ua-cam.com/video/DtlObqX8tJ8/v-deo.htmlsi=WHR4gfyb0tKmyKlr Next is “What I’m Made Of (Remix)” This plays in one of the boss fights of the game. This is less of a Remix and more of a Remaster of the song. The original was just too good for them to make big changes to it. Event Finale (The End of Neo Devil Doom): ua-cam.com/video/HHVuEn9psY8/v-deo.htmlsi=_nloBlxqi6LZCWjE Now this next song, I’m adding it because it’s not a remix of anything. Plus there’s one song in particular towards the end called “Without You” by Casey Williams. Which is an amazing song that will tear your heart strings.
The Shadow music in this game is my favorite in SA2 along with Sonic and Rouge. The drum sequencing and audio manipulation and vocal sampling is insane. Whoever did it deserved a bonus. Even if Bradley was not the best sa2 singer, hehe. Lots of inspo for my electronic mixes these days
I hope she checks out some of the songs by the fandom in the near future, especially the works of Victor McKnight, Zakkujo, and EmuEmi! And the covers by DSenji, Silent Dreams, and Hotline Sehwani are also excellent!
The album Shadow Generations version is just the in-game one with the lyrics, the in-game one doesn't have them Also the video of the in-game did NOT INCLUDE PHASE 2, which the Album version did, but it plays in the game too
There's actually a seventh version of this song which I don't think I've ever heard anybody talked about which is only in the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations.
for some reason I've always heard ''supporting me'' as ''destroy me'' which does in a way fit with the Biolizard and wanting to put him out of his misery

Mephiles (PHASE 1) (Shadow Generations) : ua-cam.com/video/YT_37HUi-gg/v-deo.html - VS. Mephiles (PHASE 2) (Shadow Generations) : ua-cam.com/video/sJn3OP_yBh0/v-deo.html (- Also a little bonus being the area just before his fight which takes some leitmotifs from his theme : White Space (UNDERGROUND) : ua-cam.com/video/tgtcDgFsOd8/v-deo.html ) Here's a little context of who Mephiles is (I'm very sorry for the wall of text, he has a very complex history so it's hard to make it short enough to understand everything): Mephiles is a the main villain of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and was being made out of pure darkness, has a control over darkness itself and is also a time traveller. He was originally half of the eternal sun god called Solaris (which is also the god of Time). However, after being experimented on, Solaris ended splitting into 2 beings: - Iblis, who inherited of his flames and raw power and who was sealed in Princess Elise's soul while she was a child (and who since then was instructed to never cry, as it break the seal on Iblis and would release him to destroy the world), and Mephiles, who inherited of Solaris' mind and who was sealed in the Scepter of Darkness by a time travelling Shadow the Hedgehog. Ten years later, Eggman tried to recreate Solaris and use it to control Time itself, so he kidnapped the almost adult Princess Elise and stole the Scepter of Darkness. However, Shadow (which was the Shadow before he time travelled) went on the steal back the Scepter for a mission, but after a brief fight with Eggman, the Scepter was accidentally dropped and broke, which freed Mephiles and make him steal Shadow's shadow to gain a physical form, which made him look like a corrupted version of Shadow. Since then, his goal was to release Iblis while still in its primordial state to fuse back with him and become Solaris once again, as well as taking revenge upon Shadow for sealing him (not knowing this was Shadow before he time travelled to seal him). Being extremely manipulative, he went to 200 years into the future (in a time where Iblis was finally released, evolved and destroyed the world) to find a lost Silver the Hedgehog, who was one of the only survivor trying to fight Iblis and manipulated him into believing that Sonic was the "Iblis trigger", responsible for Iblis' release and told him to kill him in order to save his future (Hoping that killing Sonic would make Elise cry as he was constantly saving her from Eggman), while also trying to torment Shadow and manipulate him into becoming his partner to destroy humanity and searching for the Chaos Emeralds. His plans eventually failed as Silver discovered the truth and Shadow refused to join him, so he distracted Shadow and went on to kill Sonic himself, and yes, he did actually managed to kill him. This made Elise cry and release Iblis and so he used the Chaos Emeralds to fuse back with him to become Solaris once again. This caused the whole universe to get destroyed instantly, sending the few survivors into a sort of limbo dimension before it also eventually collapsed too, while in the process of eating every timelines and dimensions in existence. Fortunately, using the Chaos Emeralds they managed to revive Sonic and made him, Shadow and Silver transform into their super form to destroy Solaris. They managed to temporarily destroy it and then went back in time once more once it was still a tiny flame to blow it out and erase this timeline (essentially make it so that Mephiles never existed) However, Mephiles was still aware of all of this and was now stuck into this erased timeline and desperatly wanted to exist once again. That's when in Sonic x Shadow Generations, Eggman found the Time Eater (another Time god of sorts) and erased all his previous failure by eating Time itself and sending everyone into a kind of limbo again called White Space. However, Black Doom (Shadow's arch-nemesis (and also his Dad in a way) used this opportunity to torment Shadow and brought back all his previous enemies using the Time Anomaly that the Time Eater created, including Mephiles. Mephiles was however, sealed deep underground (maybe because of how dangerous he was) and when Shadow finally fought him, he was aware of what was happening and was desperate to finally escape his Timeline and exist once again. Shadow, who didn't know who we was once again, managed to destroy Mephiles and seal him back in the Scepter of Darkness, effectively stopping Mephiles for good and once Black Doom and the Time Eater were also destroyed, the Time anmoly healed and his timeline and himself were erased once again. **Phew** I hope it wasn't too hard to read, I really tried to make it as comprehensible as possible but it's hard when the character's history involve so many characters and who also one who always time travels 😅
If I may suggest the next game OST to go through, alongside Sonic 3D Blast, I think Sonic Adventure (1) would be a real strong choice ~ especially given that a handful of songs in Adventure are actually remixes of songs from 3D Blast! I believe you’ve already heard the Main Theme & all the character themes way back in the day (except for maybe Gamma’s & Tikal’s themes…?), so a good place to start would probably be the Hub themes. These are the 3 main areas of the game, from which you access all of the levels: Station Square: m.ua-cam.com/video/dWbSg0VOSgg/v-deo.html&pp=ygUiU29uaWMgYWR2ZW50dXJlIG9zdCBzdGF0aW9uIHNxdWFyZQ%3D%3D The first, & smallest hub. (strange song. Honestly don’t know why they made a whole new song that you barely ever hear & not just use the regular theme they already had… 🤷♂️) [fellow commenters, can we please suggest the level themes in the order they appear in game, like we have been for 3D Blast plz? 🙏 the OCD would greatly appreciate it!]
Both versions of the song for Shadow Generations are both the same, the in game version of "Supporting me" that was used in the Biolizard fight in Shadow Gens also has the guitar solo, it just didn't have any vocals unlike the remix. I remember there were a few complaints about the song during the boss fight not having the vocals, which personally I agree with, they should have included the vocals for the in game version because that to me gives it that eerieness that suits both the Biolizard and Shadow, but I'm not mad or going to complain about it.

Plus there’s one song in particular towards the end called “Without You” by Casey Williams. Which is an amazing song that will tear your heart strings.
Thank you for reacting to my favorite sonic song!
Your song is so fire!!!
all versions of this track are sublime
YESSSS YEESSS YEEESSSSSSSS MY FAVORITE BOSS THEME
Yay!
I hope she checks out some of the songs by the fandom in the near future, especially the works of Victor McKnight, Zakkujo, and EmuEmi!
And the covers by DSenji, Silent Dreams, and Hotline Sehwani are also excellent!
Zakkujo’s songs especially are all over my playlists.
Definitely agree with you here, lots of gems from the community
The album Shadow Generations version is just the in-game one with the lyrics, the in-game one doesn't have them
Also the video of the in-game did NOT INCLUDE PHASE 2, which the Album version did, but it plays in the game too
20:13 Live and Learn Motif 😳
Enjoy the first weekend of the music video for 2025! This is going to be my favorite jam! 🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵
There's actually a seventh version of this song which I don't think I've ever heard anybody talked about which is only in the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations.
Yea man, that's the second version she reacted to
@stardustCD Oh, I apologize. I don't know how I hadn't realized or noticed when I first watched her video.
for some reason I've always heard ''supporting me'' as ''destroy me'' which does in a way fit with the Biolizard and wanting to put him out of his misery
Some great Shadow music after watching the third movie. Man, I love Shadow as a tragic hero.
Hey Zor! I'd like to suggest you to react to the different themes of Mephiles the Dark, they are pretty different from everything else from the franchise and like the character itself are pretty unique!

- VS. Mephiles (PHASE 2) (Shadow Generations) : ua-cam.com/video/sJn3OP_yBh0/v-deo.html
(- Also a little bonus being the area just before his fight which takes some leitmotifs from his theme : White Space (UNDERGROUND) : ua-cam.com/video/tgtcDgFsOd8/v-deo.html )
Here's a little context of who Mephiles is (I'm very sorry for the wall of text, he has a very complex history so it's hard to make it short enough to understand everything): Mephiles is a the main villain of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and was being made out of pure darkness, has a control over darkness itself and is also a time traveller.
They managed to temporarily destroy it and then went back in time once more once it was still a tiny flame to blow it out and erase this timeline (essentially make it so that Mephiles never existed)
However, Mephiles was still aware of all of this and was now stuck into this erased timeline and desperatly wanted to exist once again.
Leaving a like and comment to Support you
I think you should listen to more Sonic x shadow generations music I think you would like them
You should watch the yesmen10 lyrics vid of Supporting Me for Shadow Gens, you should see how much was upgraded in terms of visual aspects of Sonic :)
These are the 3 main areas of the game, from which you access all of the levels:
Station Square:
m.ua-cam.com/video/dWbSg0VOSgg/v-deo.html&pp=ygUiU29uaWMgYWR2ZW50dXJlIG9zdCBzdGF0aW9uIHNxdWFyZQ%3D%3D
The first, & smallest hub. Taking place in a small section of a larger city.
Station Square (Special Remix):
m.ua-cam.com/video/kbHttO65eUM/v-deo.html&pp=ygUiU29uaWMgYWR2ZW50dXJlIG9zdCBzdGF0aW9uIHNxdWFyZQ%3D%3D
Uploaded to the Official Sonic the Hedgehog UA-cam channel, just.. for fun!
Mystic Ruins:
m.ua-cam.com/video/CSc0R_K4TVc/v-deo.html&pp=ygUgU29uaWMgYWR2ZW50dXJlIG9zdCBteXN0aWMgcnVpbnM%3D
The second, & largest hub. Taking place in.. well.. a mystic jungle! A huge jungle that’s home to an archeological dig site.
Egg Carrier:
m.ua-cam.com/video/oAxgIoHIxug/v-deo.html&pp=ygUfU29uaWMgYWR2ZW50dXJlIG9zdCBlZ2cgY2Fycmllcg%3D%3D
Third, mid-sized hub. Takes place while infiltrating Eggman’s flying battleship.
(My personal fave theme)
Egg Carrier (Ocean):
m.ua-cam.com/video/3FY7Bn7es9Q/v-deo.html&pp=ygUfU29uaWMgYWR2ZW50dXJlIG9zdCBlZ2cgY2Fycmllcg%3D%3D
This plays, I think, only 1 time the whole game, after the Egg Carrier crashes into the ocean.. (strange song. Honestly don’t know why they made a whole new song that you barely ever hear & not just use the regular theme they already had… 🤷♂️)
[fellow commenters, can we please suggest the level themes in the order they appear in game, like we have been for 3D Blast plz? 🙏 the OCD would greatly appreciate it!]
You gotta listen to Without You from the same game
It's so good!
Yes
Both versions of the song for Shadow Generations are both the same, the in game version of "Supporting me" that was used in the Biolizard fight in Shadow Gens also has the guitar solo, it just didn't have any vocals unlike the remix. I remember there were a few complaints about the song during the boss fight not having the vocals, which personally I agree with, they should have included the vocals for the in game version because that to me gives it that eerieness that suits both the Biolizard and Shadow, but I'm not mad or going to complain about it.
Now please react to the most radical of the highways lol
WE NEED WHITE JUNGLE RAHHHH
Please do Rythm and Balance and it's versions!
I really like the fan made remix by ninj yang productions/dice ryu sykes(i think is an old name of theirs?).
You should do the new song "Without you" from the Sonic X Shadow Generations Dark Beginings Animations. Its so good.
React to "Controle do Caos" by Iron Master, They recently released this song, about Sonic Adventure 2
Sage
Did anyone else hear live and learn in the sonic x shadow gens remix
It's in all the versions of the song, even the original (except the Olympics one I think).
Listen. Please fo a reaction to "Without You" from Shadow Generations. It's gotta be the most emotional song yet.
It would be interesting for you to react to every version of radical highway: ua-cam.com/play/PLUYYncDO8xFN_6EoLvDww_R0RtFWIq8AP.html
Also there is a fan mashup of every version: ua-cam.com/video/3RAiOqU6qSQ/v-deo.html
Also also I AM BACK
Why do you call Sonic X Shadow Generations as Sonic Shadow Generations 🤔
do sonic colors!!!
Without you
That's my recommendation
