He was a good man and was a bit of a pain at first of Season 1 but then became so likeable. I wish his character was still alive. He died as a hero in Season 2.
24 could a good job at making you like previously unlikeable characters and the killing them off. Mason in Day 2 and Chapelle in. Day 3. To a lesser degree Paul Raines in Day 4. What a TV show.
He would’ve crushed her throat before he could’ve got a shot off. He would’ve totally lost it. He would’ve also probably shot Tony Almeida and/or George Mason and maybe 5 beefy security guards who would’ve gotten in the way.
Mantis: Mega Outlaw Star Fan I so agree. Everyone loves Breaking Bad but here's me not really loving that much. I'm a huge 24 fan and definitely prefer that show. 24 is so intense and thrilling.
Except she clearly wasn't supposed to be the mole.....that's what's so ridiculous. After 23 episodes of almost having a heart attack at the idea of Jack being so much as scratched, she suddenly has no problem sending him to his death. Nothing about this twist made any sense whatsoever. It's a classic example of a twist thrown in for shock value without serving the story in any way, or making any sense. What on earth was she doing for the last 23 episodes to serve her purpose as a mole? You can't simply defend this as her "just keeping her cover".....she spent almost the whole day frantically doing everything to keep Jack and his family safe, even putting herself, her job on the line, possible jail time and then does a total 180 degree turn in the last episode because the plot suddenly requires it. Not to mention that in the episode where Jamey died, Nina was constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY glued to Tony, so when on earth was she supposed to have gone back in there and killed her?? Would Tony not have wondered where Nina suddenly disappeared to for ten mins, and been a bit suspicious that Jamey was suddenly dead afterwards? And Nina is apparently stupid enough to kill Jamey in a room full of cameras and then look at the cameras in a villainous way?? The Logan twist actually worked! This one was complete nonsense.
@@thatsmrtguy4935 Not her! Especially given that she took them out of the hospital because she thought someone suspicious was there. Why would she be walking up and down the corridor looking concerned and being suspicious of this person in the hospital?? Part of the act? There was no one to even put on an act FOR! And what about the other multiple points I made?? Just goes to show that making sense of this twist requires nothing but sheer reaching.
I love how Nina closes her mouth and raises her eyebrows after Jack says his wife and daughter almost died. When I first noticed it when I watched the show for the first time, I knew something had gone horribly wrong but did not automatically assume that it was Teri until Jack found her.
Nina's my favourite mole in 24, she even knows Jack better than his wife and that's how she deceives Jack, Tony and the whole CTU without any doubt till the last minute. Love the way they build every single character in the show.
True... if you guessed nina was the mole, you're truly just guessing. There's only 1 piece of evidence on 2nd viewing that makes it likely in my opinion... but the show did such a good job of hiding it... but not a good job of explaining it... bc it's a huge logic leap that Gaines would have no idea that nina is on their side...
@@cockerpoodles1238 the key card made me think it's possible. It felt a little too convenient to clear her in the second hour. But it was mostly bullshit logic
I was of the opinion the entire time. I always thought it would make a fantastic plot twist, but I was still quite surprised when it was confirmed she was the mole.
@@constracted7331 theres a long convoluted explanation from the producers about how it was all conceived. I still don't buy it though. I think they planned for 12 episodes and wrote that. Then got approved for 24 episodes and decided to make it work retroactively
As the month of Jackuary is coming to a close, I would humbly request you upload the scene where Jack takes over Ronnie Lobel's job after he died in season 4. Can't find that clip at all. I remember Ronnie's last act was giving Jack his keys to the handcuffs, thereby releasing him to pursue the terrorist. Memorable scene.
If you watch the first season again, it is obvious that Nina wasn't the mol in the first half. But when they got the go ahead to make it a 24 episodes season, they came up with the idea of making Nina the villain. It is obvisious that she wasn't the villain in the first half, but to make is a shock at the end of the first season, they made this decision. And it worked.
Yeah it always bothered me a little, like they rushed it to throw in a twist because Gaines forced Jack to shoot her so it didn’t quite make sense (though I suppose Gaines just wasn’t informed is possible).
Nina killed Teri because she overheard her conversation on the phone it wasn't because she wanted to,not a defense but I don't think she planned on killing teri
Every time I remember this scene where Jack is lecturing her about, “my wife and daughter almost died today because you were just doing your job. How many other people died? Jamie? Walsh?” And then at 2:31 I always think for some odd reason what if he just waved the gun and growled, “eat me! Eat me!” I don’t know why. Maybe because .... I just don’t know why.
Does anyone remember a fan music video of Jack and Nina using the song The Game by Disturbed. That video is amazing and seems like it was taken off UA-cam. If anyone remembers it. I would love to find it thanks. I remember this intense scene. 24 Season 1 was truly amazing. I can watch it again and again. So epic
It's a damn good thing that jack Bauer arrived in the parking lot having amo in his gun when nina was ready to exit while having her gum out ready to shoot somebody.
Then there wouldn't be a Season 2. She helped a militia group blow up CTU by giving them the blueprints and access codes to the building. She also knew the terrorists who had the nuclear bomb.
I'm still confused. How is it possible to shoot through a windshield to hit something without the bullets getting stuck. if there are any effects guys watching pls let me know
If it's not bulletproof glass, bullets should go right through. Glass is fragile, compared to flesh and bone. That's what I figure. The limo from earlier in the season was specifically bulletproof. These cars weren't.
They must be paying the security guards a lot. Working at ctu is like a death sentence for them
Or they like serving their country.
I agree
not to mention it's been attacked by terrorists how many times?
I love that Jack starts shooting at her as she shoots at him 🔫 24 Season 1 finale is one the best tv episodes I ever saw.
This scene is just perfect: The music, the tension, the acting. One of my favorite moment on 24.
George Mason actually does a splendid job of de-escalating what was a justifiably intense situation. It's too bad he's gone after Season 2.
It's a shame indeed... 😟

@Craig Boyle Lynn McGill in Day 5 and Senator Mayer in Day 7 as well.
Jack: "My wife and daughter ALMOST died!!"
Nina: "Yeahhhhh almost, uh sure"
Sarah Clarke makes a hell of a villain/cop/security agent. Not all women know how to portray such roles without trying hard to be a macho girl
She went from stunning office manager to terrifying triple agent. She reminds me of Mara Aramov in Syphon Filter.
Check her out in Bosch
"My wife and daughter ALMOST died"
"Is that so ?"
He doesn't think of when he slept with Nina yeah he was separated but always married. Men....

All these years watching 24 i never thought they would have tony turn on jack. They had the best partnership.
I'm inclined to agree with the comment about George Mason, he really stepped in & settled that down. It could've gotten worse.
