Hey Marc, it helps to vary your speed according to the terrain. Not too slow in rocky areas to keep it off the bottom. Its normally the old submerged logs that get you. Also the low speed jigs have the attachment further back and on top of the head with a flatter under body keeping the hook vertical with point kinda pointing down so as not to snag so easy. The 'speed' jig would have flatter sides and sharper top and bottom giving it a more side to side action. Unfortunately you always gonna get snagged sometime. I even took took a swim on my last trip to save my favourite bucktail
thanks for the detailed reply! the problem for me is the breede river. as you say, logs are the main issue, weeds, and rocks and guess what? the kob are at the bottom lol but ill try my best again

And for Garrick I am retrieving pretty fast, nowhere near the bottom
