I recently purchase kef reference5 and I’m having a hard time choosing an amp. the Michi x 5 or the mark levinson 5802. I understand there are way better Amps out there but since the company I work for only has these two brands for a great discount I’m limited to these two. Any comment would be gladly appreciated.
That’s a difficult one bit i will try to answer as best as possible. The ML has a bit more warmer sound, phono mm/mc input and a lot of digital decoding. The Hegel has a very high damping factor to control almost all speakers, has a bit more neutral sound, no phono input, higher outputpower than the ML has. I think a lot of factors are very personal when one wants to buy either of them. Personally i choose the Hegel due to its design (minimalism) and the soundsignature. Neither are bad, it’s just a case of what one prefers. I personally don’t like comparing equipment because i look at them individually so i can give better recommendations, sounds weird for some but that’s how i like to work and look at audio. I hope i helped answering your question a bit.
@@verdiodh Thank. I am aware of the capabilities of these amplifiers. The question was interesting in terms of sound. How the amplifier builds a three-dimensional stage, the type of sound, how it works with lugs acoustics, like the Proac D18. The amplifier is matched to these acoustics. Recently I took to listen to the Pass Labs int150 amplifier, an interesting amplifier. But something is missing. Now I am also considering ML, Hegel, Krell.
@@VovanLord the only advice i can give you right now is try to test them at home if thats possible with your local audioshop. In the Netherlands a lot of shops are closed and you can ask for a demo at home. My hearing with audio is different from yours (i think) due to an operation i had over 30 years ago so depth and 3d stage are a lot more difficult for me to determine. And i’m a bit of an oddball as well 😇
@@verdiodh We are all audiophiles, a little oddball as well, when we buy cables for 2 thousand dollars per pair. All my friends are surprised. And I wish you success and good music.
I chose these because i like the songs very much. And not all demovideos need jazz/classical or whatever, i like to do things my way. And sorry for the late response
True..its Verdio DH speaker, he/she can play whatever pleased to his/her ears. So for me you have no rights to judge his musical taste. I suggest you to buy one and play whatever music that you like 😊
Nice collection , nice speakers, bad recording using iphone. I didnt get an impression of the Vivid which was my hope.
