Thank you so much Roseanne, you're such an inspiration, keenly following these tutorials would like to start my own in the future. Cheers. From Tanzania.
It’s amazing lesson learning I love you videos is eye opening keep up the professional not only educating us also the way you explain is very easy understandable is a gift
Flies like anerobic putrifying conditions...whereas black soldier flies like facultative environments (fermenting) so basically..lacto bacillus strains..yeasts etc... Dont keep more than 10cm height of material (best is coffee grounds)... While bsf an come in similar environments as house flies...the above conditions are not attractive to house flies.
I stumbled across your video and now I am inspired by your knowledge and what you do. I am wanting to cut down my chicken food costs. I have access to horse manure from a local farm. Will manure harm the flies if the horses have been dewormed? Does the deworm poison come through manure? Thank you for your time
My attractant for bsf, has attracted a swarm of fruit flies. Good or bad? Hate to waste time if this is non productive. I have learned a lot from your videos. Thank you very much.
Thanks ma, I really appreciate this video and the information. But pls do we need to Cover the manure or cover it in anyway. And if yes is there any specific way to ensure good result. Thanks in anticipation for your prompt response.
Great guidance madam. However, may I know the best season for the first colony to a starter and whether or not there any indicators for the availability of Black soldier flies which one c an use to determine their availability before starting a colony given that they are not easily seen.
Very interesting demonstration, what i want to know is the actual black soldier fly, cause I don't really know it. Or that I don't know it is the bsf. Thank you for your enlightenment.
God bless you real good. I really need your tutoring step by step. I'm in Nigeria. Can the BSF be generated in Nigeria. Once I tried with slurry chicken poop 💩, it was tiny maghits I got.
Hi Roseanne. At what age a chick must be to give it the larvae? How much larvae must each chick get to have it's required amount of protein daily? Thank you.
Oh! I don't like waiting. I have just placed the organic waste in my garden to get the larvae and I am already anxious to see my flies flying in the cage.
A question madam; Houseflies are attracted to rotting protein which can be found in both chicken and swine manure. Will the attractant you use not attract houseflies too?
@@stephenkiarahu38 but isn't it possible for the houseflies to spread disease to the substrate which the BSF will eat which can then be passed on to the livestock?

I'm so impressed with what you're doing. Am learning and I'm already 68 years old 😄😄😄😄
You're. 68 years young. When age is counted in the number of summers you realize that 68 summers isn't a lot. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
You are a star ma'am!! You have the best lessons!
You are such a great teacher Roseann 👍

How do you ensure you attract black soldier flies instead of regular house flies which carry disease? Aren't they attracted to the same things?
Flies like anerobic putrifying conditions...whereas black soldier flies like facultative environments (fermenting) so basically..lacto bacillus strains..yeasts etc...
Dont keep more than 10cm height of material (best is coffee grounds)...

Housefly and the mealworm are well suitable for the use of large scale production of proteins and therefore usable for the feed and food
Roseanne your work super
Thank you.

Hi Roseanne , quite insightful and great information. Where is your farm I would like to visit and learn more about soldier fly farming.
How do you avoid house flies when attracting the black soldier fly from environment? Thank mwangi
Thank you so much for the effort. How do u deal with the small insects that normally are attracted to the attractants.

Kudos to you ma

These pupa &black FLYES naturally appear in our banana field
Can you feed the larvae or pupae to chickens and other animals 100% for their food?
The BSF larvae is used as a protein source from what I've seen. It's mixed with other fats and nutrients to be used as a food source.
Thx alot, this is very easy❤
Hi Roseanne. At what age a chick must be to give it the larvae? How much larvae must each chick get to have it's required amount of protein daily? Thank you.

Thank you
A question madam; Houseflies are attracted to rotting protein which can be found in both chicken and swine manure. Will the attractant you use not attract houseflies too?
also had the same question as well, how do you seperate the house flies from the Black soldier flies
Exactly
They will both come, but BSFs will actually eat the housefly larva to dominate the colony area.
@@shannonjensen3855 wont that potentially bring disease?
@@shannonjensen3855 thank you for sharing.
Mam I am Indian ,I look like your new video
Thanks
Good idea
Please tell me how I separate BSF larvaes & house fly larvaes in this way
My question is would home flies work as good does it have to be soldier flies?
How many adult flycages would need to be in constant production of larva in order to constantly feed 100 eggproducing chicken?
Amazing...
Am very impressed ma.....
Please I will like to have a session with you ma.....
How can I contact you...?
Is there anything like properly harvesting the BSF
I want to learn.....from Ghana 🇬🇭
Where should we keep egg take time to grow should it be in the light or in the dark pls reply
So nice
God bless u Mdm Rossean. How can I get a PDF of how to produce d maggot, for my fish & chicken?
We use the open source manual by the swiss water institute -EAWAG. U can get the pdf online.
How do you ensure that only BSF lays their eggs in the attractant and not any other fly
I really wanted to get an answer to this question... koz the smelly substrate will too attarct flies.. how to seperate it is the problem
I am sure house flies will equally be attracted to this substrate. How will one be sure that the batch only consists of BSF and not house fly larvae?
If houseflies attracts then how we will separate it from black solider fly larvae..
That's my question too
house fly maggots will took a 12 hr period to mature. So with a period of those 30 days you will not get them there.
@@stephenkiarahu38 but isn't it possible for the houseflies to spread disease to the substrate which the BSF will eat which can then be passed on to the livestock?
