I just joined the movement I am in the midst of entering a new chapter in my life so I am ready to purge my closet, and I already shop with a different mind set. So glad I discovered your channel
I never realized how much self-acceptance and true self-love is linked to a successful wardrobe. Valuing your opinions more than other people's is essential.
You give THE most practical, no-nonsense, tough love advice out of all the style vloggers that I've watched. You go pretty deep with your insights about everyone's individual relationship with themselves and fashion, and always keep it real. I would love to be able to hire you as a stylist, but thank you for all your hard work and sharing your expertise through social media.
This went deep girl with the spending addiction. Im working on this. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and advice on this. I hope you get a lil r&r while in Mexico!
I really enjoy your videos, Lauren!!! I’m not struggling with a shopping addiction or to identify a sense of personal style; I just appreciate your authenticity!!! :) I love shopping when I find AMAZING BARGAINS or RARE PIECES, usually overseas or in small towns. I don’t like crowds; so I prefer consignment boutiques over malls, with one exception THE MALL in Florence! It’s an outlet mall with Tom Ford, Balenciaga, Gucci, Givenchy, Fendi, Valentino, etc. I have also never felt obligated to spend money; sometimes it’s just inspiring to look or try things on! I also usually shop for specific pieces and silhouettes. My aesthetic is classic, feminine, with a little edge. I have a monthly budget; if I exceed it one month then I cut back the next. Conversely, when I spend less, I have extra for future months...
I buy because I want to find something that REALLY suits me. And I have a vague body image. I did a lot of emotional work last years and now I feel like I want to feel better in my clothes. Sounds weird... it's like a child figuring out what she likes. I must confess i do also a lot of shopping but in second hand stores. And so I buy 6 pieces for $30. So i don't end up in depth. I now finally found my colours (autumn: dark green as favorite - previously always burgoundy and black). Yey! And I would love to know my bodytype... But I try to understand my characteristics, in Kibbe category (at least I know now it needs a rather tight fit at the taille level and vertical lines overal). I think you empower woman. Yes! And i love that part: 'hunting for myself' while I AM HERE. That's what is dressing authenticly. I AM HERE. A vision of confidently being (and dressing) myself.
