Thanks man!!! Now I know why the pd in my usbc hub didn't charge my laptop. I am now using a Baseus 100w GaN charger (the one with 2 type-c's and 2 type-a's and a mains extender) and it works with one of the type-c sockets. It did not work with my original laptop charger because the voltage was not high enough!
Oh, so you’re saying that the usb-c hub consumes 15W of power, takes away from the power that should go from the power adapter to the iPad, so we need an adapter that can power the iPad and the hub! Thank You!!!! I really needed this. I was about to return a second usb-c hub!
Hi I'm not able to connect my ipad pro 3rd gen with my monitor. I'm using the same Protonics USB C hub. It's working with laptop and phone , but it's saying no connection when connected to IPAD. pls help
Hi, The iPad when connected to external monitor through USB C hub and HDMI cable, it should directly detect the display and run in screen mirror or stage manager mode. I am guessing your iPad OS is up to date so probably there may be compatibility issue with USB C hub.
Use a good quality branded USB C hub. I am using Spigen brand and have not faced any issues. Also I suggest using USB C hub only when the iPad port needs to be connected to other peripheral and charging is required at the same time. Normally iPad battery if fully charged doesn’t require continuous charging.
What I am trying to say is that the standard 20W charger won't work while using USB-C hub with iPad. The hub itself requires some power to operate so a higher watt charger is needed. I compared apple 20W charger and Spigen 70W charger where Spigen 70W charger worked while the other didn't.
