What a way to Honor great person. Grew up in Ky myself. Race against Nicky in 91,92. I loved the sport but never followed through with it. Takes a lot family support to have the career. Want say glad to know you Nicky. And Rip up in Heaven my friend
I didn't think I could've been as emotional as the day we lost Nicky, but I was after this wonderful ceremony. We love you from Green Bay, Wisconsin. R.i.p. Nicky. Thank you for all the memories.
Awesome, beautiful day in Motogp and a class act. The Hayden's are good people and a beautiful family, a big thanks to Nicky for doing such a wonderful job representing America in Motogp well done 69🏍👏
Jeff Alessi I agree. The whole family is still devastated over the loss of Nicky. I wish them comfort and peace by all the love of Nicky's fans. God bless the Hayden Family.
I Will never forget when i was at the Mugello GP and before the race started we all had a minute of silence for honoring Nicky. It was magical 100k in silence and the respect shown for The kentucky kid made me cry
Thank u Earl for all u do and allowing us, from the big O, to take pride in such a humble champion and respectful young man that you raised . Who always held fast his faith in the Lord . Hold strong sir for u will see that beautiful boy again .
Nicky Hayden was absolutely the real deal....a brilliant all round rider and a lovely down to earth guy. He was as proud of his family as they are of him. The 69 plate will always be his!! Steve
Nicky was such a great person what a tragedy for world need more people like you forever in us hearts :(( stay in heaven legend you are be never forgetten
One the best riders to ever represent the US and an even better person! My best memories of him winning in Laguna Sega! Show them how to slide that backend in the heavens Kentucky kid!
Class act, FIM and Dorna! Condolences to the Hayden family. I feel Earl’s pain as a parent should never live through losing a child. Ride on, Nicky! #69forever
Yah, but looking back Nikki should have a got a track named to himself instead. That would be a better recognition beside this, like Marco Simoncelli at Misano.
Love you, Nicky. Such a wonderful rider but above all a great human being. You will continue to inspire motorcycle riders for ever. Rest In Peace, man.
Ride in Peace Nicky!!! To all of the Hayden Clan, thank you for your love of family & friends and being a great example for the rest of us! Not just Nicky, but ALL the Haydens have been such great role models for life. I wish you all the best. #RideOnKentuckyKid
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Ruth and Kathleen at the 2014 GP in Austin. Even got meet Nick at an autograph session they had as well and can’t even express how humble and beautiful the Hayden family is. When my sons are older, I will take them on a road trip to visit Nicky’s statue in Kentucky and hopefully to a Grand Prix race in Austin.
I will not forget that day when we lost Nicky #69, such a shock and sadness. Thanks to the Moto GP folks for this heartfelt gesture to Nicky and his family. Cheers to MOTO GP ! NH/69 Forever remembered .
It’s such a shame he is not with us anymore. Just a terrible kick in the nuts when I heard about is accident. I can’t imagine the pain of his lose to the family and his friends in the sport. Thanks Nicky for your years of composition it was a joy watching him ride.
Earl looks shattered - he lost weight, he's not the same Earl - his heart is broken and I am so sad for him. He just looks frozen in place there. Ugh. We pray for you everyday.
Ride on Kentucky Kid Hopefully one day a kid from the United States goes out to become the next Nicky Hayden and win the World championship of motorcycle racing
Classy move MotoGP. So tragic and sad the Kentucky kid met such an unexpected end at such a young age. That his accident happened not on a track but while he was out on a public road and not on a motorcycle makes it all the more sad. USA riders on MotoGP are few and far between and it was a tragic loss for not only MotoGP and racing but for the US too. RIP Nicky. Your number being retired by MotoGP Is a testament to the mark you have made and the legacy you’ve left. #69 😇🏆🥇☝️👍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏁🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸🏁🇺🇸🏁
Couldn't believe it at first, Didn't want to either. This sport is not for every one. You have to be the best and Nicky was above the best for he became a champion. This sport will give you every thing and in a split second, will take it all back. Wish more folks were like him. I could only dream and imagine when watching Nicky ride. And when watching in slow motion, you're thinking, that's just not possible. Thank you Nicky and Rest In Peace with our Lord.
Nicky Hayden was one of the best one year wonders (2006) in all of sports, and should be considered as the most influential athletes in America taking part in an Euro-dominated business. RIP #69 🇺🇸
To be fair it only became euro-dominated after rossi started winning. And until alex criville started battling with mick doohan in 1996, it was very rare for a european to win a 500cc race let alone a championship. It was dominated by americans and australians, beacuse they had an abundance of talent. But yh when NIcky won it was euro-dominated.
When I comeback to see some of this memories. I can certainly say Nikki could have been a Wsbk Champion as well if things happen in a different way. He could have won with Ducati as we know he has made a family in that manufacturer beside Honda.
I just want to hug Earl and tell him how much I hurt as well. Life can be devastating and when I heard the news about Nicky it just didnt seem real and not possible!
One of the best all time, on and off the track. Blows my mind how he raced motorcycles over 200mph but dies on a bicycle. If the lord works in mysterious ways he sure was being fucking mysterious.
What a way to Honor great person. Grew up in Ky myself. Race against Nicky in 91,92. I loved the sport but never followed through with it. Takes a lot family support to have the career. Want say glad to know you Nicky. And Rip up in Heaven my friend

Nice little message.
Man you can see such heartbreak in Earl. It really breaks my heart and I feel for that man so much.
Jeff Alessi I agree. The whole family is still devastated over the loss of Nicky. I wish them comfort and peace by all the love of Nicky's fans. God bless the Hayden Family.
Earls passing brought me here. Seeing him this heartbroken is so tough. brings me a small amount of comfort knowing he’s back with his little boy.
I Will never forget when i was at the Mugello GP and before the race started we all had a minute of silence for honoring Nicky. It was magical 100k in silence and the respect shown for The kentucky kid made me cry
The old man can hardly contain his emotion. Can’t imagine how difficult it is for his family to lose Nicky.
