Welcome to Toronto, Jacob! I didn’t expect to see you here for awhile since we don’t have as much cool stuff as the US does, and I hope you enjoy your visit! There’s an exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario about European women artists that you may find interesting, but the museum is currently closed because of a strike.
Your UA-cam Channel is awesome! I really like the museum. You said that the cobra looked angry. I would be angry as well if I was stuffed and put on display in a museum. Lol
My lord! You're in my neck of the woods. If i had known you were here I would have come to the museum to say hello. The ROM is my favourite museum in the world and Im glad u liked it.
Used to live in Toronto up until 8 years ago mover way out rural can't say i miss the city it has been going down hill as of late. Still has some good tourist areas .
Pressed penny machines used to be found in Niagara Falls. Hope you liked your trip. No pennies anymore because we didn't use them and the penny cost more to make then it was worth. One other thing, The Museum subway stop is decorated in columns you would find throughout history. You can probably find footage of the Museum subway platform on You Tube.
If you want to see suits of armor in the US, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City has an entire wing full of them. Also, please check out the Yale Peabody Museum in New Haven, Connecticut. They just opened for the first time in four years following a massive renovation. And it's free now!
Went here for first time with my grade 2 class. That was probably 25 yrs ago. Visited it again last winter and had to do two trips because there was so much. Even though it was 20 something yrs ago that i visited I still remember some stuff like the bat cave and dinosaurs. Some parts of the museum have not changed. One of my fondest memories of this grade 2 trip was sitting with my group in the cafeteria at the ROM. The parent that volunteered that day bought m&ms or a candy similar to that and she shared it with us. I just had to revisit that lunch room. It almost looked untouched.
Thanks Jacob, just got the pin to replace the one that was stolen when my jacket went missing in Amarillo. (I'm glad you started selling them again.) The card was cool also. I now only have two to go that were on that jacket. I have never been to Canada, I've been working on Route 66 for three years now. (We take short trips)
I know of at least one press penny machine still in existance in Canada. There's a gift shop called Maple Leaf Place in Niagara Falls. It's down the river towards the Whirlpool Aero Car. I just got a press penny from there in October. I think it took both American and Canadian coins.
I realize that I'm getting ahead of things, but for your year end video, how about a review of all the pennies you collected? Just a thought. I imagine you could spend two or three days in that museum and still not see everything.
If you ever make a trip to Trenton, Ontario, the National Air Force Museum has a "pressed penny" (or more of a press blank actually) machine. I also work there and would be happy to give you a tour!
Egyptologists and everyone else who studies mummies, and who are interviewed for documentaries, always say the same thing. "It's very well-preserved." Cue the retching noises.
Love your videos Jacob, love to see that your in my home town of Toronto, lots of stuff to explore where I Live Now in St.John’s Newfoundland, Canada should checkout the Hockey Hall of Fame and take a ride up the elevator in the C.N Tower. Keep making your vids. My Daughter Lexi And I Watch you everyday she loves you. Stay safe and cheers
Next time youre in Toronto, you gotta see Pioneer Village in the north part of the city (30 minute drive) just off of Jane Street @ Steeles Avenue West intersection, south east corner. Spring, summer and Fall its open (Winter it closes).

Thanks for taking me back to grade 3 and the trip with our buddie system. That was 50 yrs ago. Lots of new exhibits. The totem is iconic though.
The ‘mural’ that you refer to is a mosaic, made of thousands of scrabble tiles…
Welcome back Jacob

Morning Jacob and Jenny Penny 🤓🤓📸
When I was a kid the bat cave absolutely traumatized me. 😆 Now it's one of my favourite things in the ROM.
It's a great museum with good quality stuff :) if you ever come to Europe you'll find press penny machine's in every popular spot 😂
I’m amused that the sign that says “See those pinchers…” is also written in Braille. Does it say “See those pinchers? Oh wait, you can’t see.” 😂
Have been there a couple of times, once in the 80s, once in the 90s, I think. Looking forward to checking it out again by proxy. ;)
I love the ROM!!!!!
