I feel as though every Monday I have a “private mosaic lesson!” ALL of these projects are just amazing and have provided great instruction to all who watch you. Thank you!
This my first seeing eggshell mosaic being actually made!!! Lovely 😍 infact you had painted so well you might as well hv got it framed as it is!!! OMG the broken glass pumpkin is gorgeous😍 The Mandala mind blowing and the spool table breathtaking 😍😍😍
@@mazzonimosaics8222 I used 1/4 for a much smaller project, cause that is what I thought it recommended on the thinset bag, but it seemed to big. It worked though, no problems.
@@carolzutski7739 Yes! The square notch. Also, it is important to try and only scrape in one direction so the channels will collapse when you press in your pieces and not leave bubbles with no contact.
Thank you! You are right- the tiles are unglazed porcelain. Some are Winkleman’s & others are Cinca brand. I talk about the tile at minute mark 1:30 in Ep. 69 ua-cam.com/video/KG6BBfW2glg/v-deo.html
Sanded grout has sand in it that gives it body to hold up if the spacing is more than 1/8". Unsanded grout will crack if the spacing is too big. Plus, I don't like the pasty feel of unsanded. I think sanded grout is easier to clean and buff.

Wow shy MashaALLAH Beautiful Art 😊☺🤗🌹
Thank you so much 😀
Enjoyed the video and and your egg shell mosaic is such a happy beautiful piece and love the Mandala and the colours as well.
Thank you so much!
The table is looking great, but my favorite is the Mandala. It looks amazing!
Good choice! It looks spectacular in person.
Watching your videos is so relaxing. I love all of them. I love to do mosaics also but not as talented as you
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like them. Keep practicing and fine tuning what you do!
❤️ Julie, enjoyed my morning coffee with you this morning. Everything looks awesome! Question: what size notched trowel did you use? Thank you
Good question! It's 1/8 inch. I think I could go a bit bigger and it would be fine.

Good to know. We are about to install the mandalas and I'm planning on using 1/4".
@@mazzonimosaics8222 I also used the square notch, not the pointed one

I see now maybe because of the notched trowel effect.
Right! The thinset has enough body to hold the tiles at the same height.
For the spool project: How did this method help with the varying thickness of the tiles?
The bed of thinset ends up making up the height difference.
Love your videos! If I may ask, what type of tiles did you use for the table, that is what I am looking to use! Unglazed porcelain? Thanks!

Why does it have to be sanded grout and not unsanded? What is the difference? 🐢🌮

@@mazzonimosaics8222 thanks a bunch. I have been using unsanded on my small projects. I don’t happen to like the feeling of the sand.. 😅😵💫🐢🌮
