    The table is looking great, but my favorite is the Mandala. It looks amazing!

    Watching your videos is so relaxing. I love all of them. I love to do mosaics also but not as talented as you

    ❤️ Julie, enjoyed my morning coffee with you this morning. Everything looks awesome! Question: what size notched trowel did you use? Thank you

    • @mazzonimosaics8222
      @mazzonimosaics8222  3 роки тому +1

      Good question! It's 1/8 inch. I think I could go a bit bigger and it would be fine.

      @@mazzonimosaics8222 I used 1/4 for a much smaller project, cause that is what I thought it recommended on the thinset bag, but it seemed to big. It worked though, no problems.

      Good to know. We are about to install the mandalas and I'm planning on using 1/4".

      @@mazzonimosaics8222 I also used the square notch, not the pointed one

      @@carolzutski7739 Yes! The square notch. Also, it is important to try and only scrape in one direction so the channels will collapse when you press in your pieces and not leave bubbles with no contact.

    I see now maybe because of the notched trowel effect.

    • @mazzonimosaics8222
      @mazzonimosaics8222  Рік тому

      Right! The thinset has enough body to hold the tiles at the same height.

    For the spool project: How did this method help with the varying thickness of the tiles?

    Love your videos! If I may ask, what type of tiles did you use for the table, that is what I am looking to use! Unglazed porcelain? Thanks!

    • @mazzonimosaics8222
      @mazzonimosaics8222  3 роки тому

      Thank you! You are right- the tiles are unglazed porcelain. Some are Winkleman’s & others are Cinca brand. I talk about the tile at minute mark 1:30 in Ep. 69 ua-cam.com/video/KG6BBfW2glg/v-deo.html

    Why does it have to be sanded grout and not unsanded? What is the difference? 🐢🌮

    • @mazzonimosaics8222
      @mazzonimosaics8222  2 роки тому +1

      Sanded grout has sand in it that gives it body to hold up if the spacing is more than 1/8". Unsanded grout will crack if the spacing is too big. Plus, I don't like the pasty feel of unsanded. I think sanded grout is easier to clean and buff.

      @@mazzonimosaics8222 thanks a bunch. I have been using unsanded on my small projects. I don’t happen to like the feeling of the sand.. 😅😵‍💫🐢🌮
