Let's go #Harold 🙏🫡🤣
Are you still in SF?
You couldn't be more west coast bro. Straight westsider through and through, you'd make an excellent tour guide for LA
#Johnny-Chang the reason why those people were protesting for Burma is because the military dictatorship took over the country and arrested a bunch of people. The country is now in a civil war where armed factions of different provinces are fighting the military dictatorship. The consequence of this is that the population are caught in the crossfire. A bunch of them run to Thailand or India if they have no choice. I prayed for the Burmese people and their wellbeing🙏🤝
i gotta add geo, the west is china phobe and dumps on china aka asians , it hurts us a lot, so i actually like that china is a leading and a leader in the world, you have to appreciate china for sticking up to the usa. i wanna add that as a taiwanese american myself, avoid thinking we are white or american, food for thought, whites will never take us in or recognize us until they have no choice but to accept us and acknowledge our contributions and uniqueness. many asians created our own luck. hollywood wont do it for us.
"...Some cheap SGV stuff"😂😂😂
Favorite part of the video is that Johnny appreciates the many languages that the waiter speaks. I worked at my parents bakery as kid. That helped me develope my affinity to learn languages. It was a way for me to connect with regulars. I was able to maintain the skill since I spoke the languages with various cstomers of different backgrounds. My Chinese parents learned Spanish as they worked with the Mexican staff in the kitchen. We all know you lose the skill if you don't use it. That's the beauty of language, connect with our community and keep connecting ❤
Johnny was fighting demons when eating those oysters 😹😹
"Everybody is interconnected in the struggle" - Johnny
Great vid and hearing the dynamic between SF tech and LA gangster is interesting, especially with the Asian heritage commonality.
My favorite part was seeing you both walk through Chinatown and seeing Johnny's street senses active.
Lots of wisdom in this video.
Loved the video!! Lets goooo
Cannot wait for the next episodes ❤
Greetings Johnny & Geoffrey I Loved watching the video very insightful and learning about the struggle of the Chinese ancestral immigrants….my daughter is learning mandarin and was also able to translate when Johnny asked his mom why are we Chinese and my daughter said his mother said I don’t know…I love that my daughter is learning about other cultures because we are all interconnected and it increases respect for another person culture ..God bless you both🙏🏾🙏🏾💯❤❤❤❤🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you for sharing the love! I’m always amazed to learn about the rich history of SF Chinatown. Plus, ya’ll passed by my workplace too 😍
12:43 don’t want a bowl cut anymore 😹😹
😂😂
Another great video worth watching. Its very insightful . Keep it up
great convos. subscribed.
Awesome SF insight 🙌🏻 Saludos desde Mexico.
Really liked how you guys just talked while walking the streets...you guys covered alot of ground in SF; enjoyed hearing your experience on being Asian Americans and definitely know the best places to eat.
LA has Skid Row to relate to the Tenderloin. I learned that the hard way lol
best pho i had:
first one was this random spot in connecticut. dont know what it's called. the broth was nice and balanced, i think they added more rock sugar than normal in there.
another great pho spot was in SF. same thing, i dont know what the place is called. it was my first week in SF, i was staying at an airbnb before i found a place to live for the next 6 months while i was interning at a tech pe firm in SF. i came home after my first day of work, still heavily fatigued bc i was running on 0 sleep on my first day. literally flew to SF on no sleep, no food, moved my shit into the airbnb, showered, and went straight to work bc jetblue delayed my flight and i got there later than i should have - very chaotic day. i was so dead that day. anyway, after work, i found this random hole in the wall pho joint near my airbnb and ate real food for the first time in probably like 36 hours, and it was heavenly, lol. they only took cash. i miss sf.
im definitely on team dip when it comes to the sriracha and hoisin. gotta keep the purity of the broth. also love a good thai chili in between bites of pho. if you'd like, maybe about halfway into the pho, you can start mixing the sauces straight into the broth if you really wanna change things up. but you gotta taste and appreciate the unadulterated broth in its raw form first.
Informative video. I've lived in San Francisco all my life, a lot changes, and unfortunately not for the best. Bad politicals and crime has ruined the city. In SF Chinatown the majority of the wonderful people speak Cantonese, Chinese. SF Chinatown is the best, I go ever week, my people and proud Asian and Hongkonger. I love San Francisco!
best kind of content
Johnny is a walking miracle. Love is laugh, so cute and pure!
May the Lord continue to bless you both!
I always enjoy interviews with Johnny but now I'm also a fan of Geoffrey's. I'm half Japanese and half Chinese and both of my parents are American born so I'm always eager to learn more about my Chinese side from your interviews. Thank you 🙏❤️
really thank you for supporting and the kind comment.
Shit… landed here CA 1989 10 years old and still here grinding for that dream. Y’all should do a pod cast where you have time for guests to stop by to share their journey etc
Keep it up. We’ll make it
Johnny so genuine
Pho lemonade all the way! Just missing fish sauce!😋 I love how Geoffrey was questioning how you were eating the food 🤣 like when u couldn’t eat the oysters, and he said “what’s wrong w u” lmao
thank you ,Geof ....i see Johhny Chang again ...God bless u both
Our pleasure!
47:10 No seeds, no sticks, no stems lmfao
Insightful
LET’S GOOO JOHNNNYYY!!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
I wonder if they are still active in SF
The Brothers Sun main character is as manly as it gets
I attended CCW class, the first thing the instructor said was you need to make decision right away whether you will one day be willing to protect someone other than you or your family. Personally for me in state like California, the answer is NO, hell no!
Indians are becoming CEO's and Nigerians are known for doctors, medicine and Chinese Americans are known for being successful in multiple different fields of work. These are some of the most successful ethnic groups in America.
Awesome video
Loved this G Duo! 😎🤓 #Geek or #Gangsta
LOOOOL. W's in the schat for dixonyamada6969 😂😂
31:53 The San Gabriel Valley really allowed the LA Chinese community to seek 'greener pastures' outside of the city and honestly looking at the current state of DTLA...it was a blessing in disguise
DTLA did NOT have to be the way it is. You acting like it was inevitable.
@@1525boyHow did you read "blessing in disguise" as inevitable? What it CAME to be is not the same as what it WOULD/COULD have been. It's just reality. Hindsight.
Gangster of the streets and gangster of tech together, bro needs to combine forces to make some crazy business
Woo for SF mayor 🍻
11:54 Had to clap back in mandarin 🤣🤣🤣
No diddy with BTS, lol…
The owner at the Golden Lotus is an OG! Goated spot in the TL open for several decades. Some of the best northern pho restaurants left in the city.
Amen ❤
Called u Kumar when u Harold🤣
Dope interaction between the business and bible geek 😂 you guys took us on a journey. Being from the bay, I appreciate the walk and talk through SF history, the minority story, gentrification, tech boom etc… such a rich culture there that’s still appreciated. By the end, Geoffrey as a native and business man, should definitely consider running for mayor 🫡 I’m sure you got some solutions to some major problems running rampant in the city.
No seeds, no stems, no sticks 😂 JC with the bars 🔥
Wow so wise how he shares and speak gospel during a “normal” conversation!
Great Chat; Lets get Simu Liu on this; Cheers
Which viet restaurant they go to?
Geoff, if you ran for President I swear I'd vote for you 😊
Oh whaaa?? Two speeding tickets in one day?!! Geoff’s a gangster now 😂
Thug life in the Stanford computer science program
Come to Atlanta boys, I wanna take y’all around Việt town!

14 minute mark: Love it Love you as a brother Go America
San Jose Pho Ha Noi .! Is going wails best around Bay eara right now .! Y’all should check it out
This guy seems brave putting himself out there like this
You should also do an interview with Margaret Cho. She was the only well known Asian comedian. She was a very popular comedian back in the 90's. She disappeared. I don't know what happened to her.
Besides the Chinese Exclusion Act, not many people know about all the anti Chinese violence and sentiment too, SF, LA, and Chico California. Not only were they attacked they were lynched in some cases.
I eat at Golden Lotus, the owner is a nice guy and the food is good😋
LOL @ lemonade pho. I use a lot of lime for our homemade pho, to me its healthier. The lime acts as my "salt"
Johnny Chang🐲🔴💰💯
Crispy chicken over fried rice at oshas. So good and affordable!!! I’m from Hawaii!!
💯
❤❤ Mexico is 550 years old which Mexicali has large chines community due to United States exclusion laws. Paniolo Hawaiian Cowboys they taught Hawaiians ranching culture 50 years before texas.. Old Mexico California Downey California. Surfer Frank
Between the two of you, you guys should collaborate and write a book together, for historical reasons. Geoffrey Woo! Tell it like it is, your story parallels the Netflix series “Warrior”. Geoffrey Woo next Mayor of San Francisco, follow in the footsteps of Ed Lee. Young Chinese people need good life’s experience leadership.
Tf Johnny, why so many limes 🤣
Welcome to Gotham City
Sad it used to be so packed and booming .
🎉
Turtle Tower is closed.
gonna have to disagree with you on how chinese cuisine loves basic preparations there geoff. the french definitely love their sauces, they invented the mother sauces, but i'd say chinese cuisine also loves dousing exotic seafood products in chinese sauces as well. lol. ive never had abalone in its pure form in a chinese spot, it's always in some kind of sauce (still delicious, dont get me wrong). but i am definitely onboard with you there - there is so much flavor and beauty in simple ingredients and simple food preparation. i think that's why real italian food is really good and why italians still obsess over things like carbonara with no cream, or caccio e peppe. it can be surprising how much purity of flavor you can extract from really good and fresh italian ingredients. it's almost like the italians approached food from a first principles basis lol. the way they can respect and appreciate the base case of food preparation before getting fancy and still deliver really delicious food is remarkable. but the indonesian in me definitely LOVES spices and seasonings. i think the european emphasis on ingredient quality and less frequent use of spices and seasonings probably comes from a history of having an abundance of access to great quality ingredients - great cheeses, cattle, grains, tomatoes, etc. when you think about it, how your food is flavored is really tied to history and how people made do with what they had to survive. kimchi is fermented out of the need to preserve ingredients without modern refrigeration. korean army stew was made from boiling a hodge podge of korean and american ingredients like instant ramen and american cheese and hot dogs at an army base. lots of cuisines will make curries and stews with organ meats and whatnot, and season it to hell, because that's what they had to work with back then and they had to make the food edible, or even taste good. idk if u can tell but i love food LOL.
Fair observation on Chinese preparations having fancy sauced up or fried up versions. I always go for the clean preparation -- steamed live fish, steamed king crab, etc.
@@geoffreywooshow always love a good steamed fish drizzled with hot aromatic oil and seasoned soy sauce
@@geoffreywooshow I hit you up on the gram but i think youtube deletes my comment if i say certain key words (i guess to get rid of the bots)

$100 comment is the million dollar question to Johnny Chang, I lived in SGV for a decade and now near SF also for a decade, I have my favorite between SGV and SF, question is what does Johnny prefer? $$$$$
So lesson from this video is: keep your money up not your funny up.
You didn’t take him to the hood. Lol
You look like Harold from Harold and Kumar John Cho doppelgänger
He’s my cousin.
At 25:14 to 25:38 I relate to that question Johnny
I lived in SF for 4 months back in 92. And I knew after the Chinese in SF compare to NYC. Those kids in their 20s, no shit. They behave like they’re native. The roots were there for a long time. Not like NYC, whatever.
Jonny is so much cooler den China Mac.
GEOFFREE WOO FOR PRESIDENT
😂
Commifornia
How much calories did you guys burn? Lol
Need asset back from you ex Wu.
Dikz in ya mother 6969 😭
Johnny is so fine 😍
Johnny you’re make a good Muslim.
like will ferrell in get hard
You got a pretty big ego Geoff, money doesn't make you better, put pride to the side and be humble. Pride is huge in Chinese culture and causes a lot of issues in the community
Kumar talks way too much!!
Johnny, Lee Kum Kee gonna pay you for using all that Hoisin Sauce.
Tons of shark fin soup growing, must be rich growing up…
