Megavalanche 2022. From 104th to PODIUM...
I decided to start at the back because the conditions were insane on the grid. This gave me opportunity to see where everyone wanted to go and I found the holes! Thanks to the organisers for an amazing week. And a big thank you to the organisers for standing up against cheats and removing them from the race on derestricted e bikes.
Full race run filmed on the Insta360 OneRS.

I can't fathom the strength and stamina it takes to complete a brutal course like this.
Politest Megavalanche run I’ve seen! Awesome riding too man! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Too kind mate 🙏🏼
I was going to say the same...
I make you (Ben) an honorary Canadian...
The camaraderie of this community is pretty dope, was fully on display in Killian Brons run this year as well. I can only imagine how fun it must be having drinks at the bar with these guys after a run like this.
Cant agree more. Thats real sportsmanship! 👍
@@steveleslie2170 that's funny!
I was 103rd on the right, you came past me like a rocket. Legendary riding and absolutely brilliant attitude! Well funny “the angry little man”!
Ahh awesome mate! Hope you had a great run 👍🏻
Man awesome you were there !!
May not be the fastest competitor, but hands down the most wholesome and polite of them all. Great job, hope to see you take the medal next year.
Love your words mate, thank you!
@@benmooreracing Where was this being run ?, looks like am amazing place.
@@iggyblitz8739 Alp d'Huez in France.
Are you gay or what? Wholesome? It is a race pal...common decency and safety of others is a must, but wholesome? Ugh you absolute fanny.
Also, did you see on board cams of every other competitor so you could rate them all seperately on your wholesome'omitor?
Everything is"wholesome" these days.
Wankers.
Killian is the king bro!
Man... Your endurance, swiftness, bike-control and track awareness are absolutely impressive. And then you seem to be an amazing man and overall human being, too, being respectful and calm even in the adrenaline rush of the race. Sportsmanship can't get any better than this. Thanks so much for taking us on the ride!
You didn't place first in the race, but surely with a lot of viewers.
The best comment here . Deserves more 👍. 😉
I applaud you for your manners and showing appreciation to the spectators \locals ! Well done also for a great ride!
are most of the competitors rude?
maybe not rude, but not really polite@@Rosemaker_
9:23 Having a conversation while running a death course. Insane. Thanks for a great upload! 👍
15:56 "Bonjour!" 😄
17:32 Even got time to say good luck to rivals. Amazing.
If only everyone could be a bit more Ben. Proud to say I know this man and he’s not just an ambassador for mountain biking and Orange but he’s an ambassador for life.
The most polite sports competition I’ve ever seen! Competitors fully respecting each other.
Absolutely flying! Great attitude and sportsmanship, loved the commentary. Awesome!
Thanks so much dude
I just did half of this with him on my exercise bike. Hardest I’ve worked out for years. I’m going to work up to all of it. I smile every time he says hello to the people. Im dodging every turn. Im riding faster past the cheering people. Thank you dude for making this. Just awesome.
22 minutes of cycling is the hardest you've worked out in years? Am I missing something?
@@Dan200 when you don't know a person's situation, refrain from sarcasm and judging... 🤦🏻♀️
Yes you are missing something - empathy and intelligent critical thinking skills. 🤷🏻♀️
LenoraPerry well done! 😍 All the best as you continue to pursue your goals. ❤️
I too am working back up to full capacity after surviving stage 4 cancer. It's a challenge but it's fun! 🌿🙆🏻♀️😅💓🚴🏽♀️
@@Dan200 This person makes a wholesome comment and you go instantly to put them down. That's kinda shitty Dan.
I'd love to see a reverse Megavalanche one day - start at the bottom and finish at the top :-)
That would be cool!
Play the video in reverse, hahaha
What beast is going to finish that?!
@@Mr.Arrows give me camping supplies, snacks, and lots mj, I can make it look harder
@@Mr.Arrows Kilian Bron, that's who. He probably is working out a way to do it as we speak.
Those sunlight to shadow transitions played merry hell with my eyes watching this. Terriffic skill to navigate the route at such speed.
Bro, when that guy passed you at 2:08 I'm surprised we didn't hear a sonic boom from the breaking of the sound barrier
Anyway, a good race and good video, sir
pleasure to watch it
Ben was ABSOLUTELY FLYING yes and that other dude came past at the speed of light 😂 Great skills Ben & great video💪👍
Ahh mate your comment is the best! So true! He must have been well over 100kph because I was at 80kph there!
@@benmooreracing damn! That's moving for both of you!
Superman :)
I was surprised there wasn't a melee of riders tumbling along behind in his wake!
I was one of the first few riders to do the original Red Bull trail at Coed-y-Brenin, many years ago - on a Gary Fisher hardtail with the then new V-brakes. I know it's nowhere near comparable to this epic ride, but this is what that felt like then.
I'm 72 now and, in large part due to the injuries I collected doing this and other, possibly inadvisable things over many years, this is now what it feels like going to Tesco on my electric fatbike.
Damn i thought i had the only gary fisher in wales (cake3 late 90's) 😄. Fkd my spine somehow but im post surgery and this race is still on my to do list. One day. Hopefully with snow 😐
3 am not even a biker and I was hooked! Terrifyingly beautiful both scenery and courage!
104th to 5th. That's impressive. Your cardio and strength on the uphills is a product of discipline.
Thanks so much Jason. Super pleased it all went to plan and my thoughts are with those that suffered mechanical issues and crashes 👍🏼
Platz gewesen👌👍
It helps that it was an ebike. Have they made a separate race for ebikes now?
You made that look effortless! Great sportsmanship and great ride.
Outstanding performance considering starting position..
Thanks mate
Great video. I just stumbled upon this. Had never heard of Megavalanche before. This is insane. The coordination and stamina are unreal. Kudos to you Ben. You are an amazing athlete.
When I saw you climb the big hill I said WAIT A SECOND, then went to read the comments about being an e-bike. I've never ridden one myself, but they're life-changing on those hills! Phenomenal ride man, thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for the kind words my friend 🙏🏼
Literally the best thing I ever bought, including motorcycles and cars. I suppose a car is awesome on a rainy day but for fun and ebike kills everything.
That guy flying by at 1:58 is an absolute legend
2:19 your "Legend" laying on the ground...
I've watched a few other rider's uploads of the Megavalanche, like Killian Bron, and the amount of talent you guys have on a bike is just amazing. I can only imagine the hours of training and practice it takes to get to this level.
The only thing keeping me from doing this is my kickstand always falls down when I hit big bumps! Cheers Ben great run!!
I also got this thing that stops me from doing this. It's called a functional brain.

Those views of the Alps are just incredible. I need to travel Europe again one day. Great race :)
Superb Performance ! your Flow is AMAZING ! and very polite rider, with empathy . Hats off.
So kind mate. Thank you 🙏🏼
The riders probably can't view the scenery much but i love it. It's awesome
Nice to hear some in race commentary. And polite to the supporters.
Great stuff.
🙏🏼👍🏼
I think I got a digital contact high from all that adrenaline. WOW Weee what a ride! Thanks for taking us with you and keeping our lens clean at the same time. You get 1st place in thoughtfulness! 🥇
I think I was 16 mins in before I realised you were on an e-bike! Awesome to see one competing at this level. As for your attitude and approach to the race - happy, polite and enthusiastic - epic example of what Mountain biking should be. Kudos to you 👏
You've got to imagine that the E-bike makes this easier though. Sure its a bit heavier but its not like he is hitting a bunch of jumps.
Could sit & watch these for hours - absolutely incredible, I just cannot comprehend the speed or skill level needed to ride like that.
So kind mate 🙏🏼 Enter next year and see for yourself 👍🏼
Excellent riding! I would have ate it on the first rocky section with the lines you took. Great single tracks. Hung up the bike in 95, but this brought me back. Thanks for the great video without distracting music. Beautiful day and awesome riding.
Dude you're the reason I'm getting back into the sport. Brilliant riding and the best dam attitude. Fukin love iiiitt 🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful positive attitude and politeness.
More important than first place.
Great job! I have never seen anything like this race. But once I started watching, like you, I could not stop. 😊 I admire your strength, concentration and stamina. Congratulations!
Holy shit by far one of the best runs I’ve seen of the Mega. Flying Ben.
Gentleman racer! I thoroughly enjoyed watching you race and enjoyed the way you did it even more. Cheers bud, you are an example!
1:55 holy fucking shit these 2 guys absolutely blasting it.
He wasn't hanging around 😎
😂😂
Madness hahah
I love these videos… I get on my Velore and put my time in watching your videos riding down the mountain works for me
This is literally one of the coolest things I have ever seen
Absolutely insane. Thanks for the ride of a life that I would never do for real.
it was great to meet you at the start and end of the race. thanks for the tips at the start.
pleasure meeting you mate
The camera does make it look really sketchy in places and the trail seems to disappear at times but overall the video was awesome. Proper mountain biking.
Holy crap, all that and 5th? You guys are in awesome shape!
Awesome riding and breathtaking photography! It was amazing to watch you navigate that mountain! Your courtesy is something everyone should pay attention to! 👍👍
its been some time but only just saw it. great run and i like the way you do not take yourselff so seriously and are just a very nice human being. thanks for the great video
Thanks so mucg for the lovely words Marianne 🙏
Brilliant, I was moving side to side on my kitchen stool trying to keep up with you. Thank you
Wow. Theres a certain amount in insanity required for a run like this. Well done
The "angry little man" was actually surprisingly polite a few minutes later.
one of the reasons i love mtbing is the friendliness of the riders. used to race in teams in 24hr enduro's and if you were pulled over catching your breath pretty much everyones first comment would be you alright mate.
Love it mate 😎
You guys are gods who can ride so fast on bike on the difficult, sometimes dangerous, bike road made of snow, ice and rocks
Nice race, very polite too. Congrats on the position, well deserved. Great video
Thanks Jay 👍
"he´s an agry little man" Bro the best response ever, good job stay strong!
Fantastic ride! Your momentum and line choice was so cool to see. I watched the video through to the end now my wife and I are watching it again.
Ah Rick you rock! Thanks mate 🙏🏼
Stunning. Absolutley brillian! I had no idea that human beings could have the strength, reflexes, mental acuity, or hands-down insantity to do something as marvelous as this. Bravo.
Amazing job. Glad to see you’re back to good health. Absolute chaos at the start but looks incredible fun. 🧢 Chapeau🤙
I’ve just woke at 3am and watched this start to finish. It’s quite relaxing 🤣
I enjy these videos, it is however sad to see less and less snowpack each year at the top.
Wow. What a jolly, talkative man!
I thought all top bike athletes were cold, calculating masterminds!
Are you insane, what a start..... It's absolutely the BEST drive I've seen on Megavalance, and you just have a super cool attitude to all those crazy people who shout and scream - I wish you all the best for 2023!!!!
😂What a jolly extreme downhill mountain biker you are, casually saying hello and thankyou to spectators along the way (very unexpected) that's awesome, good for you mate!..I really enjoyed the video.
Glad you enjoyed it mate! Thanks for the kind words 👍
That is awesome! This is some bucket list material right here! Love the respect you and other riders had for each other. Great ride!
The skills are amazing! Not like riding a bike! Fair plays! Terrifying
The last "can i get a oh yeah" just kill me 🤣
Wonderful and impressive ride 👍
"Let's catch the angry little man" (8:40) Made my day lmao. Good job man awesome ride!
I love it when Ben Moore just keeps himself and calm even behind other riders and know when to overtake the riders, now that's a riders not like the guy who kept on shouting and was not fast enough.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Cheers mate 😎
I love watching the guys "dude, wait, what? This is impossible." while half a dozen other guy just blast past.
In part because I'd be right there with 'em, brakes on and feet out 2 mph.
1:48 The definition of speed.
Liked, Subscribed, Saved, Commented! This reminds me how amazing life is and that we get to live it! Woww!! 🤩
Thanks mate! Love your attitude 👌👍
Just awesome Ben! Fantastic achievement 👏👏🍊🍊🍊🍊
Coffee, wake n bake and finding this gem of a video. Gonna be a good day tater.
Totally found this vid by accident. Life-defying ride, and you attacked the entire way!! Mega-kudos to a beast of a man, a beast of an athlete, and an inspiration to the rest of us earth-dwellers.
Two questions I must ask --
- What tires are you using?
- What bike are riding? Frame, shocks and brakes???
Apparently orange. Bound to be some bike shots someplace.
You're such a good freaking sport. I really really enjoyed watching this
Hey... that was an amazing great moment in cam, on this perfect race, right ?
I very like your clean style on bike, one of the best i've never see..
Congrats about your podium with your amazing clim, along 44 minutes.
We salute you from France, keep safe Bro !!!
Thanks for the kind words bro. Happy riding to you 👍🏻
I really need to say this. Thanks for always Wiping your camera for us Bro And great Driving im really amaze how you control. That bike. In. Fast rocky roads. If i were that id be flying like 5 meters. In the air and hurt myself
Such beautiful scenery and an attitude to match, thank you and well done champion.
Pheee..nominal, You can see how hard your working by the shadow. I'm only half way though watching and I'm knackered. Nicely done
7:22 THANK YOU! I can't stand those guys. It's a RACE, nobody is obligated to get out of your way!
So true mate. Some lovely people taking place in this race allowing smooth overtakes 🙏🏼
awesome skills and brilliant sportsmanship...? much respect, good sir. (: thanks for the (very rapid) scenic tour of an incredible landscape..
第一次看到山地自行車的比賽影片,實在很刺激,耐力及速度都很驚人,很棒的影片分享
This is so Cool!
The difference between those that know what they are doing and those that have no business being there.
I’d like to buy you a beer, you have guts brother! 🍻
Well done Ben. As loads of the other guys have said respect for the fitness level. That's a long time to be lung busting.
What’s fitness got to do with it ? He’s on a moped ffs.
Too kind mate. Thanks for the support 🙏🏼
@@bjorntoulouse9080 Are these ebikes faster or slower than normal bikes on this run? I would think it's harder to control more weight on technical sections.
Your arms must be of steel! To know the course, do those speeds and avoid the others - amazing!
Rocketing out the gate! almost did 100 there and then! great run, appreciate putting the full thing up!
Thanks for the kind words Paul 👍🏼
You are a BEAST Ben Moore! I love to watch you race. You have this cadence. Congratulations on a great race... Steve from Utah!
Ah cheers mate. Your comment just put a huge smile on my face! Happy riding mate 👍
After watching this and like 5 other footages of this event, I understand that
Wide angle is the way to go, because:
There is a better sense of speed, because of the moving objects in view
There is a better appreciation of the beauty around!
What I would really like is a normal angle chest-cam and a helmet-top wide angle cam.
That was enthralling to watch, and I'm not even a riding fan 👌🏼
I’ve ben moore impressed
Estoy tan alucinado con este vídeo que no tengo palabras ,un fenómeno absoluto en la bicicleta y los chicos que graban con el son maravillosos menudo equipo , mereces lo que estas consiguiendo y más
The guy in first place is a freaking monster. I bet once he got away from everybody, he must’ve been super relaxed just knowing he didn’t have much to worry about.
True mate 👍
One of the coolest Megavalanche runs I have ever seen. Love the attitude, love the sportmanship. Well done, sir.

It's like every once in a while you remember Breathe .
So true mate!
Got an isometric workout just from watching this. Epic riding.
"He's an angry little man" ha haha
I'm sat here thinking "Gawd, those guys in front are quick..." then you get past and it's stabbed rat time :)
Love it mate!
Magnificent run! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
unbelivable race he worked so hard i used to ride a lot but was never in this kind of shape...looks fun and exciting
That was so satisfying to watch I never took my eyes off the TV..dunno how you know where your going I would of definitely got lost on a few places and probably come off a few times 😂😂 fair play congratulations.

I love watching these videos thanks for taking the time to share.
So many places where one slip and you are DEAD! And plenty more where you are horribly injured! Quite an Adrenalin rush for sure!
How the hell do you remember a route like that? After the twentieth corner I would get lost! Good job man, fun to watch!
To be honest, I can't remember it all. I just try to remember as much as possible. Happy riding mate 👍
