I recorded this off the radio and sent it to my gf on a cassette tape when I was in 10th grade. She was my first kiss, my first date, and my first....you know. Yesterday I held her in my arms and kissed her. I still love her and I always will
i loved this video.when my husband and i were still engaged,we broke off for 4mons.he was deployed.we weren't talking, the break up was very bad.then one day,he suddenly emailed me and sent a link of this movie.he said he wants me to listen to the song.and that he is giving me enought time to think if i will take him back or not.he said he'll wait no matter how long.and he did since we got married in dec 2010...
jeez, who ever woulda thought when this came out 25 YEARS AGO that lou would be back with the og dino jr for 16 years, have a new wife and a new life, and sebadoh would be a footnote in indie rock history. well, maybe that last one...
Hah, I get this song completely. My first date with Lisa was in January 1986. It was a disaster. We didn't date again. She got a boyfriend. But we stayed friendly. She'd bring cookies over to my apartment to drop off. I'd see her at parties and we'd chat. A year later, at a party, someone introduced me to her and I said "Oh, I've loved Lisa for a long time." We had a second date in Feb 1987. And we're still together after 37 years. Never lose hope! 🙂
Damn, this shatters me because it takes me right back to that time with my ex girlfriend. The only time that I’ve been struck by love and I blew it. Twenty years on and it still kills me.
thank you...it's sad that there are people who are lonely and bored with their lame lives that they can't accept my opinion regarding this song.this song is a part of my life.my married life.and someone out there just made a comment w/c only made it look like someone is totally jealous of a happy ever after...
This song reminds me of the first break-up with my ex. That kind touch and go nature of the friendship between people who still wanted to be more than just friends. But then she dumped me again anyway lol.
so, when this song played on the radio back in high school, i thought it was weird, cuz i was familiar with some of sebadoh's ruffer stuff, but my 17 year old emotional life could definitely identify with the content. now that i'm 34, i think it's even weirder that lou barlow is also like 34 here and singing about this kind of stuff. not tryna hate tho.
I agree, and I love him for that. He's always been very emo(tional), and I feel like it's because he's so sincere in his lyrics. No bullshitting around, he'll tell you what's on his mind. And to be fair, not that it changes anything, Lou Barlow was 29-30 in 1996.
well i don't care about what you think.happy and loved people can express however way they wanna express themselves.it seems you're a lonely soul.too bad for you...

Adolf hitler in love
Fuck man I feel that so hard. Just met up with my first ex again after nearly a decade. Love her so much
Beautiful. I've seen Lou play a few times and he explained that this was the song he used to win back his girlfriend who later became his wife.
aaannd...how did that work out for him?
@@virag1132 Sadly, they divorced
@@NewlandJ987 that's 1 way to put it!

Did it last
Reminds me of being 17 when this came out. Loved this song and album. Still one of my fav bands.
Such a shame that 99.9999% of the world population have never and will never experienced this beautiful song.
But I did, so that's something.👍👍👍
Isn't that true of most songs?
@@billepperson2662 No
I looked for this song for so long, finally found it this week and it’s been on repeat so much. Dino Jr, Folk Implosion, Sebadoh…Barlow is the man
this is and will always be amazing

at this point, lou should just tell everyone this song was about j all along

I love that they used Comet Hale-Bopp. I remember seeing it well in the Spring of 1997.

In 2020 this would be called the "biggest Simp anthem of all time". Things sure have turned toxic and beyond in this contemporary era.
Sad but true
Mindful reminiscing proves to be worthwhile.
nice story to a great song
Love this

The variegated and multifloriate splendours of cheezys the whole fucking point of this song.
masterwork
This really should have been in Friends.
