    Move yourself
    You always live your life
    Never thinking of the future
    Prove yourself
You are the move you make
Take your chances win or lose her
    See yourself
You are the steps you take
You and you - and that's the only way
    Shake - shake yourself
    You're every move you make
    So the story goes
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Much better than - a
    Owner of a broken heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
Say - you don't want to chance it
    You've been hurt so before
    Watch it now
    The eagle in the sky
How he dancin' one and only
    You - lose yourself
    No not for pity's sake
There's no real reason to be lonely
    Be yourself
Give your free will a chance
You've got to want to succeed
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Much better than - a
    Owner of a broken heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
    After my own decision
    They confused me so
My love said never question your will at all
In the end you've got to go
    Look before you leap
And don't you hesitate at all - no no
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Much better than - a
    Owner of a broken heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
    [repeat]
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Sooner or later each conclusion
    Will decide the lonely heart
It will excite it will delight
It will give a better start
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Owner of a lonely heart

2022! As a kid I used to hear this song and liked it immediately- a different sound from most of the rest, catchy hook, easy melody- as a little kid the lyrics were mostly over my head (I was 7 at the time it came out) but I wanted to hear it every time it came on! That hasn't changed. I never saw the video til very recently; though I grew up in the MTV era, we were in bed by the time MTV was in full swing (8pm, so early right?) so I never saw it as a kid.

I can still listen to this music today and it instantly transports me back in time. I really admire the vocal hook, the simple but effective bass guitar riff, the improv in the interlude and the mix of drum and guitar sounds. Long live the power of music!

Those were the best days, to be there alive as a teenager in the 1980s was very special and the music is unrivaled, it was the evolution of the analog masters of the 60s and 70s reaching its peak. I don't know what happened in the 1990s with the introduction of hip-hop, reggae, and rap everything went into a nosedive.

Hip-hop, reggae, and rap all pre-date the 90s. Bob Marley started in the 60s; Yellowman has been active since 1974. Hip-hop has been around since at least the 70s.
I’m not sure how perfectly good genres that had been around for a while sent the 1990s, “…in a nosedive.” I was a teenager in the 90s, and my biggest problem with that decade was every record exec trying to find the next Nirvana.

    Move yourself
    You always lived your life
    Never thinking of the future
    Prove yourself
You are the move you make
Take your chances, win or loser
    See yourself
You are the steps you take
You and you, and that's the only way
    Shake, shake yourself
    You're every move you make
    So the story goes
    [chorus]
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Much better than a
    Owner of a broken heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
Say you don't want to chance it
    You've been hurt so before
Watch it now the eagle in the sky
How he dancin' one and only
    You, lose yourself
    No, not for pity's sake
There's no real reason to be lonely
Be yourself, give your free will a chance
You've got to want to succeed
    [chorus]
    Owner of a lonely heart
    After my own decision
    They confused me so
    Owner of a lonely heart
My love said never question your will at all
In the end you've got to go look before you leap
    Owner of a lonely heart
And don't you hesitate at all, no no
    [chorus x2]
    Owner of a lonely heart
    Sooner or later each conclusion
    Will decide the lonely heart
    Owner of a lonely heart
It will excite it will delight
It will give a better start
    Owner of a lonely heart
Don't deceive your free will at all
Don't deceive your free will at all
    Owner of a lonely heart
Don't deceive your free will at all

Other than wearing out their albums on cassettes, yes cassettes, and hearing their music a billion times in the 80's, I paid no attention, until a few months back because of the quarrantine, Jon Anderson started releasing enormous amounts of self produced music on his youtube channel. I happened across it and found my future. All I can say is its spiritual in message for me and its changed my life. Songs like Where Will you Be. What a fantastic journey at 54

Before '83 I was listening mostly to Classical, Easy Listening, Disco, Country. You can imagine the effect that sounds like this had on me. I was hooked!

I'm 24 and fairly new with the band Yes. I've grown to really love the album 'Fragile' as well as 'Closer to the edge' and I just cant wrap my mind around them being the same band that came out with this song

Une bombe artistique à l'époque déjà 39 ans! Incroyable groupe et succès qui est valable et indémodable d'ailleurs je l'écoute toujours en 2022.

I love many songs by Yes, whether it be 'Awaken,' 'Close to the Edge' or 'Love Will Find a Way.' But 'Roundabout' and 'Owner of a Lonely Heart' will always be the songs that hold a special place within me.
