Interesting to see the lack of a soft and deeper knee/ankle flexion during the earlier years of skate technique. Generations now grow up Skating resulting in enhanced mechanics. Thanks!
I’m biathlete here in Voss and Kristen Skjeldal is our ski trainer here at our topp athletes school😁 It’s really cool and inspiring to have an olympic champion as our trainer and even though he’s 54, we still can’t beat him at skiing😅 Just on our tunning tests haha
Most impressive finish is of course Petter Northug and not just this one! And I'm so happy because i was there in Falun 2015 and watching all races live! And even if I'm Swedish i absolutely think Petter Northug is the world's best cross country skiier in the history! Not just because what he accomplished! He's also a very interesting person outside the course! I loved his aura, picking on the Swedish guys before the race, Hellner and of course Halfvarsson 😂 It was a very sad day when he ended his career, cross country skiing lost their biggest name, just as big as Usain Bolt was in his sport! This video makes my Swedish heart want to cry when I watch Jörgen Brink collapse, but I'm so happy that he made 3 wins in a row in Vasaloppet! He was an amazing skiier! Thanks for this video! 🇸🇪❤️🇧🇻
The amazing thing from the Falun 50k was that Northug was basically never at the front and only started his comeback in the last hill, running past everybody...
Alsgaard for me the most talented skiier of all time, not the best, but he was so compleate. Could beat anyone down the finish strech yet also win single start 50 km.
There is a saying in Norway ... "Where was you when Oddvar Brå broke his staff" ... I remember that episode on TV, we only had 1 TV channel so all sports was on that ofcourse. If memory is not messing up too much for me, at the time it was not normal for other nations to give staff to competing nations if something like that happend, but after that incident I think it was a deal that you do ... the commentator yelled when that happend... "Gi mannen en stav!!!" "Give that man a staff" ... and he broke it where Norway did not have any secundants with extra gear.
We should allow free doping use in sports. Look what happened to Cross Country Skiing lately. Basically no top athletes from Czechia, Estonia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belarus, Kazakztan, Poland, Ukraine, Canada, USA, Japan...
Lovin' that look of Alsgaard over at Zorzi after the finish line..

Alsgaard is an underrated skier!

Yeah, and very lucky that there were snowing heavily so it was easier to be behind
@@Jari.Isometsa That is right. Tactical masterstroke by him let the others clear the track for you
As for me the most epic finish was on WC 1997 in Trondheim between Elena Valbe and Stefania Belmondo.
Alsgaard for me the most talented skiier of all time, not the best, but he was so compleate. Could beat anyone down the finish strech yet also win single start 50 km.
Isomätse vs Mogren 1992 was another epic finish.
I like this🤝
Bjorgen&Justyna Vancouver 2010???
Good video! It sure looked like Bra tried to kick the Russian at the finish line not kick his leg over the line.
Yeah, got so stressed the last 50 metres!
🔥
Oddvar's move is dirty.
I agree
