- Another incredible round at the 'ring. This time it was the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Completing the 20.8km Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6 :49.328 minutes, it clocked in 10.6 seconds faster than the current 911 GT3. Behind the wheel was Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister, who was intensely involved in the development of the new flagship of the 911 series. Jump on board above and see the lap unfold.

@Doni_the_bird basically on the straights the car changes some aerodynamic surfaces like the rear wing to a position where they have less aerodynamic pressure, diminishing drag and increasing top speed.
This dude has some serious driving skills, amazing guts. The DRS is amazing. Wow.

yep i knew i wasnt the only one that got a kick out of which portions of the ring the DRS was kicking in and the sheer speed/acceleration he was putting down out of those corners/sections

Absolute beast of a bug at 03:28, made a right mess of the windscreen! Massive respect to Jörg for the time especially after having to do nearly half the track with bug juice in the way.

@@brunonrozycki215 I thought that initially also but if you watch it slow speed it's a big brown thing he hits. Maybe a giant flying beetle? It makes a noise like something hard being hit, bird poo wouldn't make that noise.
Also fresh bird poo would wipe away, whereas bug juice just smears and doesn't clear - which is exactly what happens after.

It depends on what you’re wanting to see I suppose. Personally not a fan of the wide-angle, I would rather see a view that is more realistic, one that is closer to what the driver actually sees. To me that realism would make it more impressive!
Wow! The commitment in that lap was incredible especially through T13! What a car and what a driver.
What a dream car, as a kid we were looking at lambos, ferraris but now as an adult 34 year old only porsche is what matters!!!
Obviously it would have been faster, but the car was significantly hindered by the weight of the driver's testicles.

Even Jorg's reaction at the end knows he was flying! A "strong headwind" down the Döttinger Höhe straight was reported and you can tell it affected the car's ability to go any faster down the straight.
So technically it can get a better time

The part I find amazing is that relative to other cars that have been round, to come out with that time is amazing knowing that it is gear "limited" on the topspeed sections.
Just shows how fast the cornering is.

@@hasangenc2922 No its not. Porsche which is part of the VAG group make the Bugatti Bolide, look at the technoogy thats gone into that. This GT3RS for perfection needs the same spec eg carbon tub, 3d printed titanium pushrod suspension components that weigh 100g but take 3,500 kgs of force, 3d printed titanium / carbon fibre prop shaft that weighs 2kgs but can handle 1800hp for eg. Push the engine out to a 4.5L - 3d print the pistons / rods. Give it Hydraulic decoupled suspension for the ultimate in mechanical grip, active toe, DD motors for active camber etc etc
It needs to lose about 550 kgs and gain 190+hp to achieve perfection with the current technology available.

At the moment he brakes he is at 250km/h, with the 919 Evo Timo Bernhard brakes at the exact same moment but he is at 370km/h 😂

I love watching porsche laps while i'm listening to Ludovico Einaudi. It's something you will never forget and it cleans up your mind from overthinking. Everything seems perfect and it looks like your dream to become a driver gets always closer. I recommend you to do this as well, if you didn't do it yet. I love you fam.
I remember 10 years ago when the Corvette C6 ZR1 got 7:19 with racing tyres on and a roll cage and all the corvette fan girls acted like it was the god of all cars. Now we have Porsche comfortably smashing the 7 minuet barrier. It's insane.
Americans are a different breed when it comes to cars, they can't appreciate european cars simply because they are faster. Not because they sound worse, or look worse, no, just because they always perform better.
Americans have always been insanely jealous of the dominance of German cars.
I am very passionate about Porsche and seeing this car breaking records only makes me fall in love with it more.

I was never a big Porsche fan until I started watching these videos and others on Social Media and IMO I think they are such a perfect car. The amount of engineering that has gone into the 911 is astounding.

Absolutely astonishing time from a car with 'only' 525 hp, and at 3,268 lbs too. Porsche flexing it's superiority at chassis and aero engineering, and the best part is you know it will be dead reliable as well, no substitute indeed.

How in the world would anyone dare take fast corners at gt3 speeds in a road car. I love it! Flugplatz entry speed 210+, schwedenkreuz 240+, metzgesfeld 210+, klostertal 210+, not even a slight lift after the karusell, and that esskurve section where he had the balls to just rocket through the bumpy corners knowing he will stay in control. Just tell you how he confides in the car 100%. Thats why I love Porches over any other hyper car
Really hope they put out a 992 gt2rs. Can't even imagine what is going to be capable with the combination of this aero technology and ~700hp, truly amazing stuff.
This guy is a badass driver. He's on carpet 95% of the lap. Great overlay to see it all come together. Fear is not an option.

Notice towards the very end of the lap at the end of the long straight he's full throttle and gives a good jab of the breaks just to give some temp and make sure they are going to stick before he goes full brake at 260KPH+. Guy is fully committed all the way around! DRS is unreal!

This is inhuman, honestly I struggle to believe what my eyes see and my ears hear. Porsche is BY A MILLION the top of the automotive industry. Its hard to grasp what they dream and manufacture, this is in its every single bits and pieces perfection. It feels unreal yet thankfully is so real.

The corner speeds are insane. But you can tell, that there is just a paperthin line, that shouldn't be crossed. I can tell from my hundreds of crashes in Assetto Corsa XD

Now that was impressive, car and driver. The speed it achieved and track time were jaw dropping, but what shocked me even more was the braking capability of this car. This is what makes Porsche different in my view.

@@resadrecebli2263 To be fair, the Veyron time is in no way representative. You put it on modern tires with an actual balls to the wall run and it will decimate the Cayenne, as it should really given the performance and price comparison.
So true! If you put a 918 spyder on Cup 2 R tyres I expect it will beat the GT2 RS.
The biggest improvement in recent years by a mile is the rubber and we’re seeing these one lap wonder tyres all the time now.

Porsche showing once again that it makes the best cars in the world. I love my 993 C2S, 997.2 GT3 and 991.1 GT3 RS but this 992.1 GT3 RS is a must have. I just wish the dealers would stop asking for those absurd markups. I’ve never paid an ADM and I don’t plan to start today. It prevented me from adding a 991.2 GT3 RS to my garage and I fear that it will keep me from getting this latest and greats RS as well.

I remember being so impressed at the 6:47 posted by the Zonda R. A purpose built track only multimillion dollar V12 toy. Now a road legal GT3 RS is for a few hundred grand is only 2 seconds behind. Wow.
