I love that first design. I modified it many different ways. Great design. For me it survived a 3 against 1 raid for 3 hours. Then they ran out of rockets and bullets and got no loot. lol. I liked the original entrance you could modify it to become a half hieght hall they had to crouch through to get into the base from that angle. This meant they had to jump up to crawl over a foundation piece then a steel floor plate and jump down into a pit that had shot gun traps under the steel floor plate. Most raiders don't opt to go in through the door anyway. The most important thing in this design is getting those shotgun traps in the loot rooms to cover the drop down.

Been using this base design since i started playing a few months back. 300 hours later and im still using it!! Only revision id make is replacing the roof in the airlock with a half height floor so you can add an extra double door or potentially a double door and ladder hatch behind it
Back again. I've built this base so many times, I can build it without watching the video, and I've successfully adapted it to my needs. Even as a solo, the base allows me to work up an impressive haul and progress efficiently thru the wipe.
What changes did you make to the TC loot room now that the vending machines no longer work? How to give the best defences with good storage for that loot room?
@@Optimoification Sorry I didn't see this until now. I just made the TC room a standard loot room with the boxes placed close to the window and an embrasure to help hide the TC.
You are one of the most thoughtful and thorough base builders in this game. You think of EVERYTHING... so much so that whenever i build a base, i call it Evil's base and not mine. I don't change a thing. It has saved me through many a wipes. Thanks dude. Keep building.
A couple of changes i added was making a roof bunker in the second loot room using a different box setup and using a doorway to place and destroy the triangle for the roof. Have to use a wooden triangle in the loot room to get this to work. Also added a ladder hatch above the roof going up which adds 1 additional c4 to go through doors. Excellence build as always!
Awesome Base, after playing some wipes with 4-5 people in your Frustrator X this is a great option for duo and trio wipes. Gonna test this today! Keep up with the vids man, you're the best builder i've found on youtube and it's always kinda easy to follow your steps. Greetings from a fellow German.
For those wondering. The base is no longer viable for the vending machine tc. Unfortunately for the building community they have patched and fixed the way you can currently place vending machines into harder and less condensed locations
@@ivy.7072 i just build it on a build server and it was 7 rockets instead of 8. seems to work pretty decent. do you still think it wouldn't be worth building?
Note- if you want a shooting floor, just add a ladder hatch up to the top and surround it with windows. The shooting floor adds a nice aesthetic to the build.
Just got through last wipe on the console beta using this. Raided twice, but one was just a few c4. Second one came with rockets and was defeated by the placement of the t3 workbench. No one got anywhere near the secondary loot room, let alone tc. GG, mate.
It has aged pretty well. I have played my previous two wipes on an x2 server. So far nobody has attempted to raid it. I did however improved it with the meta roof stability bunker. This extends the entrance by 1 square but adds a lot of protection.
@@musicah8496 they patched the meta roof bunker, but Evil found a way around it. Check his latest video in his other channel Evil's Rust Labs. Basically you add 1 square between roof ramp and three triangle airlock.
Me: sees this base in a server Greedy Me: hehe good loot Sensible Me: *RUN* That’s how much of a reputation this base has gotten for being so frustrating.
Flying around the server I moderate for, evil wurst designs litter the field. I myself used the Thrifty Scott and a modified Minifort as my starters and farming/flanking bases until I came up with the Hobostar.
I love this base! Though I can understand why you had trouble finding improvements on the old one. The vendingmachines are a huge plus, but I'd argue that adding turrets and roofaccess for a minicopter only makes the base more of a raidtarget. Build this base without a flashy roof and you're all set!
Thanks Evil Wurst i started playing rust when this video was a few days old. After my 2x2 was raided i need something better and god i think i lucked out clicking on this video. I been raided only the once. They never got tc and i killed one of them. Got some upgrades from him and they only got to one loot room. You have made my rust experience more enjoyable.

just got online raided in this baby. they got through one wall on the honey comb because counters showed up and killed them... those counters never would have made it in time but the 2 auto turrets on the top floor stalled them for the counters to arrive. this is the first main base i have made other then a honeycomb 2x2... this base is legendary. thank you for building it and i wish you well.
Good morning evil! I love your base designs for almost 3 years now, I just wanted to ask that should I build a starter base before building this base or should I start constructing this one?
@@pttrro Generally I build a 2x1 but by the time I collect enough resources to make a full base, some 8 man zerg just raids me. That's why I wanted to know is building a starter worth the hassle.
I've been using this base design for about 2 weeks now, I got raided once, which failed. This base design is great, not only in terms of how expensive it is to raid, but also in terms of living space and comfort. Great job man!
This has been my go-to base ever since I started playing rust about a year ago. At least 75% of the time I can do an entire wipe without being raided, even with a bit of toxicity ;)
One small tip when trying to achieve perfect and easy alignment, when building first foundation snap your compass to those lines like 90, 95, 100 degrees etc. and remember/calculate rest.
Hahaha this is hilarious!!!! - If I think back to when I thought of asking Evil to create a small base that had ALL the SPECIFIC features *_I_* wanted/needed, as a challenge and because i didn't have time to do it but I DIDN'T ASK BECAUSE I _KNEW_ that with his SKILL AND STRIVING FOR PERFECTION he'd INEVITABLY end up there ALL BY HIMSELF ANYWAY AND HERE IT IS!!!! HAHAHAHA!!! FREAKIN AMAZING! Does anyone _get_ what I'm saying here and what it implies? He's so good, like a computer coded to 'find the best, most efficient, most feature packed, most expensive to raid base' and the computer does it, that he's done it! (for what I wanted)
This base design got me farther than I've ever been in Rust on my server's last wipe. I went from barely getting my 2x2 to stay safe and unraided to essentially hoarding stacks, weaponry, and armor, and I was soloing right up until today, the last day before the BP wipe on my server. This morning, another noob and I were the only people logged onto the server. He asked for help, and I led him to your channel. We ended up teaming up and, thanks to my hoard of weaponry and armor, successfully raided the oil rig together. I did make a few mistakes, though. I accidentally put the right vending machine too close to the doorway, so I wasn't able to put a garage door in front of the TC lootroom. I mitigated that by putting a locked triangle drop hatch above the lootroom. I put another triangle drop hatch as the doorway to the roof access point from the main level. Also, since I was solo, I didn't need a locker in the central triangle room between the work bench and the furnaces, so I put a flame turret there. I placed heartbeat sensors in the room with the workbench and in the room with the furnaces. The sensors were connected to smart alarms. The doors to the triangle room with the flame turret were both connected to smart switches. If I got an alert that an intruder was in the wings, I would hit the corresponding door control, which would expose the intruder to a flame turret. Unfortunately or fortunately, only one person ever tried to raid my base, and he gave up in the outer honeycomb. I plan on building this and other designs of yours in upcoming wipes. You're the best, E.W.! Thanks for making Rust more fun for me!
Those are my favourites too. I go for Thrifty Scot for starter/farm base, Valkyrie for comfortable living, Raptor for auto-turret protection/minicopter pad
This is an excellent strategy! People tend to ask for bases with starter units, but having a starter bases has so many advantages, such as serving as fallback, as flanking base, and potentially as external TC, as you described. Personally, I always start out with a starter base as well
Love that design! I've used it twice since I first watched this video and must admit - it's super efficient! A lot of inventory space, even for a duo, great protection for a managable upkeep, I love it! The title says - for casual players, but even experienced Rust *gamers* can use this design.
@@CentralFloridaHipHop yea we never got raided, built it again on a second wipe with a different twist and a duo that didn't like us tried to raid but they didn't get to our main loot rooms or TC so successful so far!
On the main loot room you can fit the shotgun trap in a more central position rather than on the side facing downwards while still having access to the two large boxes and the shotgun doesn't poke through the garage door if you place everything accurately
When I saw that you opened a new channel for improving the base, I was seriously surprised. I didn't think it could get any better than it was. You proved me VERY wrong.
Fun fact: fish farm rn can get u thousands of scraps every hour without u doing anything, scraps can buy anything, even sulfur (buy low grade to run quarry)
I can tell you put A LOT of time into creating this base, I really like how you focus on making things easier for beginner players and progressing though the build.
Love this base design, have build it on many wipes now. But normal I build it a little bit different, i like a little bit bigger shooting floor so you can see behind the base from there. Also I make a door in front of the roof that take u to the second floor so players cant see the roof from outside the base and maybe find out out the base design. Also I like to place a half floor in front of the TC so players cant loot the TC. Made a little video how I like to build your design: ua-cam.com/video/PoIlx8tXwJU/v-deo.html Hope you can give me some tips to how I can make the design even stronger and easier to build! Love your videos, keep up the good work!!!
I am very new to rust. Been playing almost a week, so far I have hopped many servers but finally found one where I had a somewhat decent start. Got a small 3 triangle solo hut I saw JordanRants make. I will definitely be trying to build this though because I’m a little cramps in my tiny house. You have earned yourself a sub!
I've been using this base for over a year. It brings me joy watching groups take literally hours to raid it. Even the hackers get disgusted raiding it. When it becomes a target, i load it with traps, then move loot to another base and enjoy the circus of a raid that is about to ensue.
Just started playing rust on console and these videos really help me, your the best rust content creator I've came across, thank you and keep up the good work👍🏻
If you wana make it even more frustating ... add tesla coil that activates when some1 triggers sensor. (and auto-resets via memory cell when no1 triggers it) And if possible place it where people need to jump down.
Ive got a suggestion, you can put a sleeping bag and large box under the roof ramp and pass items through the roof using a campfire as a secret storage room, the walls leading to this room will rarely be destroyed during a raid unless they go straight through the roof to tc which Ive never had happen to me after using this base for a number of wipes, I like to craft all my sulf to explosives which stacks to 100 (so you can actually hide 10 boxes worth of sulfur in 1 box) so I put that there. Make sure to break the campfire after for max safety
Damn, i really hope my brain is able to memorize so much information, so i could build it without having to look it up. All in all, great video, you have succesfully outdone yourself!
Ill try living in this base now, raptor was fun yet interesting to live in. I played in low pop server and got contacted by raiders. They told me that they spend whole night raiding other bases yet were not sure how to aproach the raptor and left it. So I survived. Interesting note that when i used temp tier 2 workbench if i jumped in that triangle i opened garage doors via preasure pad to my roof through the floor
Tip. If you can raise the foundation infront of the roof ramp then you can put a double door, but then you wont have access to the turret. Also I usually angle the large battery in the triangle then I can fit the electrical components inside with the battery
Great video. Fantastic base. Built it as a solo in a day on a 1.5x. Raided shortly after moving all my loot over from starter. (*Using triangle latter hatches in drop down shoots made their raid more expensive*)
Used this base as my teams' first proper base. We made some enemies so we had to relocate before they 8 man raided us but this build is easy to remember so we located across that map and rebuilt in an hour with all our stuff moved! Awesome guide!

I also used that to set teslas as defense in between the furnaces and I made some major electrical upgrades. One of my teammates says we should metal frag the whole firsdt floor but we are over 1 week into wipe and 0 attempts at raiding so far so.... thanks
Been using this base design since i started playing a few months back. 300 hours later and im still using it!! Only revision id make is replacing the roof in the airlock with a half height floor so you can add an extra double door or potentially a double door and ladder hatch behind it
how do you get the vending machines to work?
how tf are you making these videos so fast? Please take my respects!
red apple plz be my dad
yes be my dad
Phew ... these kinds of questions could only be asked by someone who has experienced how time-consuming it is to make decent build videos
This was the first base I ever built when rust came to console
You are one of the most thoughtful and thorough base builders in this game. You think of EVERYTHING... so much so that whenever i build a base, i call it Evil's base and not mine. I don't change a thing.
It has saved me through many a wipes. Thanks dude. Keep building.
Thank for Carbon for these kind words!
I used a lot the mini frustrator for my wipes and I loved it but I'll maybe try this one too ;)
I love your builds continue like this.
That's fantastic to hear! You'll find that this one is improved, but familiar
How did I miss this video?! This is my favourite base.
Great, happy to hear that! Please note, the Frustrator X is a completely different beast. If you could upkeep that base, you can upkeep 5 of these :)
For those wondering. The base is no longer viable for the vending machine tc. Unfortunately for the building community they have patched and fixed the way you can currently place vending machines into harder and less condensed locations
Is this base still worth building since the vending machine placement got patched?
@@ChocolateCrip I wouldnt recommend it and there are plenty of bases similar and better than this one since it's a little older.
Another masterpiece by our rust master!
Just got through last wipe on the console beta using this. Raided twice, but one was just a few c4. Second one came with rockets and was defeated by the placement of the t3 workbench. No one got anywhere near the secondary loot room, let alone tc. GG, mate.
Great to hear that!!
Yo this base is awesome, my first time trying it and me and my friend defended a 2v5. They failed raiding it 2 times LMAO
Well done throwing the raiders back twice!
It has aged pretty well. I have played my previous two wipes on an x2 server. So far nobody has attempted to raid it. I did however improved it with the meta roof stability bunker. This extends the entrance by 1 square but adds a lot of protection.
care to share how you did that? im very new to rust and I'd love to explore different building methods that work
@@musicah8496 they patched the meta roof bunker, but Evil found a way around it. Check his latest video in his other channel Evil's Rust Labs. Basically you add 1 square between roof ramp and three triangle airlock.
Me: sees this base in a server
Greedy Me: hehe good loot
Sensible Me: *RUN*
That’s how much of a reputation this base has gotten for being so frustrating.
I agree, if I’d build this base myself, I’d keep it low profile and park the minicopter in an auxiliary base
Good vid mate, keep it up :) I will definitely try that base
Thanks!
The best rust builder in the whole planet. I hope you remember me from like 4 months ago with my other channel Random Pixel Guy. I Still love your content.
Oh, with that many comments, it's hard to remember all the names, but I actually do remember the name Random Pixel Guy :)
Watching your videos keeps me happy even i dont play rust for a long time
This is a delight to hear, Arda!
Same here
I liked the video even before it started
I hope the video met your trust in its quality!
just got online raided in this baby. they got through one wall on the honey comb because counters showed up and killed them... those counters never would have made it in time but the 2 auto turrets on the top floor stalled them for the counters to arrive. this is the first main base i have made other then a honeycomb 2x2... this base is legendary. thank you for building it and i wish you well.
Thank you for sharing this raid story! I love to read those! All the best for you, too!
Good morning evil! I love your base designs for almost 3 years now, I just wanted to ask that should I build a starter base before building this base or should I start constructing this one?
Yes I have the same question
@@pttrro Generally I build a 2x1 but by the time I collect enough resources to make a full base, some 8 man zerg just raids me. That's why I wanted to know is building a starter worth the hassle.
@@pirateofthemist3764 yeah totally understand
I've been using this base design for about 2 weeks now, I got raided once, which failed. This base design is great, not only in terms of how expensive it is to raid, but also in terms of living space and comfort. Great job man!
I am very happy to hear that!
I used this and I was getting raided from the loot room area and the guy with rockets died to the shotgun traps
This has been my go-to base ever since I started playing rust about a year ago. At least 75% of the time I can do an entire wipe without being raided, even with a bit of toxicity ;)
That's great! Thanks for sharing!
update* for square halfwall honeycomb you can put a ramp on it then seal
Please explain and put a possible time stamp in the video :)
Hahahaha, thanks so much, Paxus!
@@EvilWurst just facts! 👍
I am absolutely delighted to read this! Thanks you for sharing you experience with the base!
We used this base and defended a 3v6 raid, it was fun to fight from.
I have been using Valk, Raptor, and now this one :) I got 500 hours rn and ur bases always helped me from my first 20 hours to now
I am very happy to hear that! Myself, when I started with Rust, I also relied on YT bases during my first several hundreds of hours!
Those are my favourites too. I go for Thrifty Scot for starter/farm base, Valkyrie for comfortable living, Raptor for auto-turret protection/minicopter pad
I’m gonna start my wipe with a mini fort then make it an external tc that covers this base I’m also gonna make the furnace base an external tc.
Glad to hear! Please watch out for the vending machine update! More details in the pinned comment
Just built this with a friend of mine. Logged off so hopefully we won't be raided tonight lol
Fingers crossed!
How did it go? Is the base still okay?
@@CentralFloridaHipHop yea we never got raided, built it again on a second wipe with a different twist and a duo that didn't like us tried to raid but they didn't get to our main loot rooms or TC so successful so far!
On the main loot room you can fit the shotgun trap in a more central position rather than on the side facing downwards while still having access to the two large boxes and the shotgun doesn't poke through the garage door if you place everything accurately
How many Shotgun Traps do you want?
Evil Wurst: Yes
Buy 2, Get 3!!
When I saw that you opened a new channel for improving the base, I was seriously surprised. I didn't think it could get any better than it was. You proved me VERY wrong.
It took quite a while, haha :D
You are the Morgan Freeman of Rust
You are so underrated and you put so much effort into you videos keep making great bases and have a great day!!
Thank you Kloverzz for recognising the effort!
Fun fact: fish farm rn can get u thousands of scraps every hour without u doing anything, scraps can buy anything, even sulfur (buy low grade to run quarry)
That's true. Fish traps are OP but not many people know it. Their loss :D
I can tell you put A LOT of time into creating this base, I really like how you focus on making things easier for beginner players and progressing though the build.
Happy to hear that! Please watch out for the vending machine nerf!
Made a little video how I like to build your design: ua-cam.com/video/PoIlx8tXwJU/v-deo.html
Hope you can give me some tips to how I can make the design even stronger and easier to build!
This is exactly what I wanted! Thanks so much for the base design can’t wait to play some wipes in this. Keep it up 👍🏻
Best of luck!
I've been using this base for over a year. It brings me joy watching groups take literally hours to raid it. Even the hackers get disgusted raiding it. When it becomes a target, i load it with traps, then move loot to another base and enjoy the circus of a raid that is about to ensue.
I almost cannot believe that the dropdown loot rooms are still effective after 2.5 years
I don't even have this game but your videos make me want to play it. Good day.
Just started playing rust on console and these videos really help me, your the best rust content creator I've came across, thank you and keep up the good work👍🏻
Nice I’m getting rust on console tomorrow how hard/easy is it to gather the resources for this base?
Glad to hear it!
Your frustrator was my biggest influence for me to get into building bases so thank you for inspiring me sausage
Wow, thank you! I feel humbled
If you wana make it even more frustating ... add tesla coil that activates when some1 triggers sensor. (and auto-resets via memory cell when no1 triggers it)
And if possible place it where people need to jump down.
perfect timing! was just looking for version 2 of the mini. currently using one :)
Perfect timing indeed!
I don't play rust, but I watch a lot of rust content. I just wanted to say this base seems really safe. If i had the game I'd of tested it out
Ive got a suggestion, you can put a sleeping bag and large box under the roof ramp and pass items through the roof using a campfire as a secret storage room, the walls leading to this room will rarely be destroyed during a raid unless they go straight through the roof to tc which Ive never had happen to me after using this base for a number of wipes, I like to craft all my sulf to explosives which stacks to 100 (so you can actually hide 10 boxes worth of sulfur in 1 box) so I put that there. Make sure to break the campfire after for max safety
Excellent suggestion! I typically don’t put things on my channel that rely on secrecy, because too many people will know about it
Damn, i really hope my brain is able to memorize so much information, so i could build it without having to look it up. All in all, great video, you have succesfully outdone yourself!
this deserves a follow! loving the calm voice.
Well, that's the best kind of success if raiders don't even try to raid the base and turn towards easier targets instead
Tip. If you can raise the foundation infront of the roof ramp then you can put a double door, but then you wont have access to the turret. Also I usually angle the large battery in the triangle then I can fit the electrical components inside with the battery
Managed to design this base and it's stopped 2 attempted raids already 😎
Nice work on this design bro and great video 👌
Great 👍
Great video.
Oh wow. Lucky that you moved in time!
@@EvilWurst can confirm though it doesn't stop an 8 man raid on a quad server. :^) Still my goto base though.
Evil, not sure if you still read these or get notifications but just want to say you are sorely missed sir. Hope you and the family are well.
