You likely know this but it's possible that newer fans watching this'd be unaware that Ray Davies pretty much created VH1's "Storyteller" series. A live solo performance was released as an official Ray Davies album and the episode that aired on VH1 was, and possibly still is, to be found on UA-cam somewhere. I recently came across a DVD I burned 10+ yrs ago of multiple Kinks TV appearances throughout the whole of their career and I also included Ray's "Storyteller" episode on that disc. If the video is no longer to be found here on UA-cam, I'll do my best to try and remember to upload it at some point, hopefully with "at some point" being much sooner rather than much later!

What is even worse is that this performance is cut out from the DVD release of the show! Probably because of rights, but on the cover Ray Davies is not even mentioned.

The other guy singing is trying to hard to match ray davies famous stage presence from the live kinks concerts the hand , body gestures the singing itself .........kinda made me cringe
They're fans playing with one of their idols, what's wrong with being inspired by him and trying to emulate his presence, besides this cover is really good
