When they saw me slaughtering and clean a goat all by myself their jaw dropped. I earned respect their true respect when I let the goat hung on the tree and prepared "Kalegee" with your recipe. About this tawa it looks like beaten copper, what I have heard is that it should be coated with silver, before cooking. Is this correct, please comment. Thank you
Correct. copper can react with acidic ingredients when its heated up causing the copper to dissolve in the food, which can cause copper poisoning. therefore its highly recoomended not to use naked copper vessel but get them plated. The reason mine isnt plated is because the dull and rich copper vessel looks good on camera and as I only use it for these videos so seldom use is fine. But since I have started to use it a bit more I was thinking of getting it plated. BTW its called a Lagan. personally this shape of vessel is highly superior to our regular pans and pots. Lagan mein pehlay biryani bana kerti thi.

Im bias when it comes to these copper lagans. You can only appreciate the shape of the bottom of this pan only when you use it. Copper utensils make me go weak in the knees
True, not just the metallic taste but copper dissolves in acidic environment which can cause copper poisoning. They should be tinned. Since I dont use it everyday and I dont cook very acidic recipes in it so mine is not tinned. only because it looks good on camera

I have heard they impart a metallic taste to the dishes cooked in them, so they have to be tinned after prolonged use. So expensive items.
True, not just the metallic taste but copper dissolves in acidic environment which can cause copper poisoning. They should be tinned. Since I dont use it everyday and I dont cook very acidic recipes in it so mine is not tinned. only because it looks good on camera
