What about painting the “deck” railing black to give it a rod iron look. The camera will never know the difference. Love O/W magazine!
I love seeing parts of your house that are imperfect and unfinished. How realistic and refreshing! Looking forward to seeing how you continue working on your beautiful home.
I would be remiss if I did not tell you that I lived with a hexagonal tile floor for about 9 years: white with green florets(or whatever you call them.) That white floor shows every hair, every fleck of dust, every speck of lint. It looks "nice and clean" for about 20 minutes after you mop it...if you can keep kids and dogs out of it for 20 minutes. Just so you know.
Small suggestion for the lighting issue in the kitchen: if you put a white, cotton curtain on a tension rod, it would diffuse the light and would be easy to remove when you're not filming.
Thank you for showing us that everyone has 'THINGS'! Reminds us!
I really appreciate that you showed the things that are not done, most people only show the perfect parts! Redoing a home takes time and I'm sure it will be worth it! Thanks so much for this realistic look at your home!
From day one, I have been inspired by you and your channel. And now that I have moved to a 60+ year old remote cabin in Alaska, I am still finding inspiration from your channel. I have an old tub/shower combo, like the one you showed and cannot wait to rip it out and put in a nice claw foot or slipper tub. As a maximalist, who had to leave most of her belongings in storage when I moved 3000+ miles, I am drooling over your home and style, as I anxiously wait for my beloved possessions to be shipped to me this next summer. Fingers crossed! Thanks for letting us see that imperfection is real, and just part of life.
I like your plans. Finishing, removing eyesores, turning the laundry and bathroom into charming spaces. You do beautifully juggling a large family, gardening, cooking, home schooling, selling oils, and always looking gorgeous for your vlogs.
How refreshing to know you just live “real life” like everyone else! I so enjoyed getting to hear about all your dreams for your wonderful home! You have such a zeal for life….thank you so much for sharing the “less than perfect” issues that you deal with. We could ALL make those videos! Haha
GURL ….You have took an “OLD “ house and made it charming …never apologize for your courage and creativity….it may NEVER be finished but “that’s life .YOU are making history everyday with your babies and hub. Moving right along ,showing us the flaws helps to show what you HAVE DONE 🥰
Thank you so much for putting out content I didn't even know I wanted, or needed. This video did so much to help with my motivation and feelings of home fomo lol. Such a pleasant reminder that work in progress is good! I have been lusting after the bricks you have throughout your home, thank you so much for sharing!
Omg, absolutely loved seeing new parts of the house! It's mindblowing to see how much you have done in such a short amount of time. Not to mention the stunning garden and property! You and the family are incredible. I need some of that energy and skill....throw some my way would you please? 😉
It’s real when you see that not everything is perfect 👌 nor will it be tomorrow. To me that is life and keeps our motivation going striding for beauty that calms our soul - you are gifted with motivation, vision and a supporting family . Keep the vision going and sharing your journey so that those that are not as blessed will enjoy.
You are truly a DIY queen! Just love listening to your vision.
So I just read your story on your blog and I cannot believe how much we have in common. Growing up my childhood idol was also Princess Diana. I have every single magazine that was every published with her face over the last three decades.
Growing up in Michigan , my grandparents had a farm in the Thumb area of Michigan. We would visit about once a month. I would wake up to the rooster crowing, go downstairs to the kitchen where my grandmother would make me eggs Sunnyside up and toast with her homemade grape jelly. After breakfast I would make my rounds to see all the animals.first stop, the chicken coop then off to the barn. My grandmother's Collie Tippy would greet me there. People don't realize how beautiful cows really are, big brown eyes and long eyelashes.
My profile photo is my grandparents barn. I recently had a replica made.
I am so excited to know we have a connection, you and I are old souls. 🥰
Just a suggestion: attach wood trellis to the railing and paint it green and add hanging plants to give it a garden vibe. Later you can change it when you have the budget to make a permanent fix to the railing.
Bless Joel’s heart. He obviously loves you as he is trying to make your dreams come true. What a hard-working man. You are blessed Angela.
Angela, your ideas for your home are outstanding. Navy blue washer and dryer, now that is the way to ring in January 2022, congratulations 🎉🇫🇷💃🎉🇫🇷💃
THIS WAS A NE OF MY FAVORITE VIDEOS. why? Because we got to see you dreaming about what to do next! Please do more of these!
Thank you for sharing the unfinished spaces. A home is always a work in progress and it's nice to know that even those we admire and think "have it all together" have to wait on their house dreams too!
All your ideas sound right on. Can’t wait to see how everything turns out.
This is amazing! Thank you so much for putting this out, we have been renovating an 1855 farmhouse on 52 acres for 5 years now, and I have been at my wit’s end. This helps me feel like I’m not so alone. 😂
This video makes me feel more normal😂 thank you. Also so busy and so many things to repair and change. But also doing it one bit at a time when we get the time. So will get there in the end. House is looking great and so satisfying to so things yourself.
Absolutely nothing wrong with your house. It is simply a work in progress. Even brand new homes are a work in progress. Love your inspiration photo with the green sofa and all the books on the wall. You are amazing!
It's wonderful of you to share the true reality of, home ownership and LIFE. It's what you make of it! 💗
We made a base out of walnut beams and sealed it with tongue oil. My sink was a used find that i love!
Enjoyed you video Angela! Hope that your beloved Joel is on the mend. Stay beautiful and creative!
So glad to see you back! Love all your new ideas & plans! So fun to start the new year off with fresh ideas! Our homes are our havens, especially these days! I’ve already started on my list & it’s so satisfying! Life is truly what we make it! Hope to see a home tour as you complete these projects! Have a great wknd!
Good morning! Glad to see you back and hope Joel is well healed. Oh my, so much of what you feel is wrong with the house I think is beautiful! Just a difference in taste. Hope all goes well for you in the coming year.
As someone also living in a building site for the foreseeable future with five children, thank you, it's nice to know where not completely crazy lol.
If I'm not mistaken, I see a Peterborough Basket in your laundry room!? We recently moved and the factory is the next town over from our new old home. I've been snatching up their large baskets at thrift stores whenever I can find them. It's officially a buying illness since I have so many. I love your ideas!
This was so fabulous, I watched it twice! Angela you are a visionary - and you articulate that vision with verve and enthusiasm. Joie de vivre!! I was hanging off every word, and look forward to seeing more of the fruits of your and Joel's hard work in the time to come. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺.
I love love your dishes. Such a treat to my eyes. Thank you. I love your beautiful home too.
Angela you look incredible! And your glasses are fabulous ❤️
This video showcases your design genius. Anyone can decorate a perfect new home but you gracefully disguised so many problem areas. Amazing
As someone wanting to buy our farm soon, I appreciate the realistic view of “what to expect”. Thank you! Beautiful!
Greeting from Thailand. You looked very pretty.. I am happy to see you again...
Hi there just started watching your channel, it's very enjoyable.
It's nice to see somebody else who shares my passion of copper and all things French. Stay safe 😊
Your HOME is BEAUTIFUL💞
Happy New Year Angela 🎊🕊️🎉... "Wrong" makes ideal UA-cam content!!! Thank You for bringing us along!! The "navy blue" paint color in the kitchen: au courant yet vintage! This video has brought renewed excitement for the process of creating your own piece of heaven on earth 🤗🕊️👼🏾... You're my 3rd "content creator" to take the Airbnb on. 1st is functioning, the 2nd sold after there first abusive renters... I'm sure you're foray will attract wholesome individuals excited to see the area in person 👏🏾😘💙
We all have areas of our homes that need “help”. Hope Joel is well. Thanks Angela.🙏🏻💜
The areas that are finished are absolutely beautiful. I have no doubt that everything will be just as beautiful when you are done. Love your esthetic!
You are very brave to show your unfinished projects! We all have them and try to hide them. I hope you succeed with most of them. By the way, Door County is one of my most favorite places. Fish Creek was like a magnet pulling me into its magic for the many years I lived in Wisconsin. I’m back in my native Colorado now and cherish the majestic beauty seen daily but still harbor a secret wish to re-visit Door County. Enjoy!
Angela, I love your house so much! As you already know, you are tremendously blessed to have such a neat house full of useable space. Thank you for always being so "real" in your videos, that's why I love watching you so much! ❤
Love of a home is beautiful to see thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you for being real. I have a lot of kids too. I get overwhelmed seeing “perfect “ homes when I strive for what is cozy and thr house is not there yet.
Excellent video. We all have “those spaces” in our homes. I applaud you for sharing- it makes me feel a bunch better about my own home.
I look forward to your videos and the inspiration
for French/Euro designing they give, thank you. Praying you on with your family and business. God bless you.
Love to see that you wear your glasses on a chain too. I always feel like a dork but now I don't.
Putting the human in superhuman! 🦸🏻♀️💫👏🏻
I love the idea of a library loft in your bedroom. How wonderful!
6:43 Oooh! Love that copper rabbit mold. My molds are rectangles with rabbits on them, not the rabbit shape. Love the honest look at your house with all of it's "characteristics." It's a labor of love in progress. :)
Praying for Joel!!
You are back💜
I love the romance and charm of all you've accomplished in your home. It's a work in progress and each time you reveal something is a special, inspirational treat! And...you looked especially lovely today.
You know, I just loved this video. It is real. For most of us, our home are a work in progress. I know when I get even a few extra moments I try to take advantage and do even just a little on a "in process" project. Thanks for making me feel like my efforts are worth while, even if not everything is complete.
Thank you for the behind the scenes tour. I think you have some great ideas. Can't wait to see them come to life!
I want to thank you for sharing what is wrong with us. It really helps to remind us that everything is not always perfect and a work in progress is progress.
Angela: “ I have been so into plants the last couple years.”
Me: “when has Angela not been “into” plants?”
I love your inspiration photo and I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with that space!
Very encouraging video Angela. I always think of modern omes completed and tied up with a big bow as being a bit sad. The movie title "as good as it gets" comes to mind. I want to live in a home that I can improve on bit by bit and have fun with day dreaming and creativity.
It's exciting to see the projects ahead. Because I love very old homes, this kind of stuff looks very familiar to me. I'm considering buying an old home in Sturgeon Bay, and look forward to the creative renovation process.
Apologizing for putting your husband’s and/or children’s needs ahead of your channel is not necessary. It is respected and, might I add, perhaps a gentle reminder to us all in a time where self-absorption occurs too easily?
Thanks for all that you do, including providing motivation, inspiration and showing how beauty, in all of its capacities, enriches our lives.
Wishing you and yours a new year blessed by God with love, laughter, and new adventures.
I appreciate your confidence and determination. You have a lovely home.
One of my favorite videos. It was so great seeing the projects you have in store for the future ❤️
This video makes me feel such belonging and grace for myself as a young homemaker 😭🙏🏻 seeing all the “befores” are some of my favorite parts of other peoples stories, especially when they transform their spaces on the regular, but for some reason seeing my OWN “befores” make me feel like the before is all I deserve. Now there’s no more room for that kind of negative narrative in my story! My “befores” are starting to inspire me, thank you SO MUCH
This was one of my favorite videos ever!!! Love your home!!!❤️❤️❤️
My favorite room is master bedroom , miss seeing you and Joel working together, praying for his recovery, y’all’s house has been such a blessing 💙🙏🏻
Thank you for showing the imperfections of your home. The house is so fun and beautiful even with its quirks! I look forward to seeing the new changes this year!! ❤❤
So Happy to have you Back!!! Love ur house and ur style! Uv inspired me to thrift Vintage dishware and Im Hooked now for the hunt! LOL Can you please do a video on your Vintage mix and match Dishware PlEASE! it would make my day.xoxoxox Be Well!
I’m so excited that you are finally getting a NEW washer and dryer.
Great video! Thank you for being real about what you still want to chamge in your home. All of us have those areas in our homes that have been pushed to the back burner for a later date. Excited to see your ideas happen in 2022!
Angela. Things are not wrong with the house!!! they are on going projects that keep it interesting and dreamy in a way!!!! Much luck!! Cheers
So glad to have you back!! I'm already you will have just what you want in time. Tell Joel I miss his face, and am so glad he is recovering!!
What's so funny to me is while the birch logs aren't working for you anymore, the first video I ever saw of yours (Day in the Life Mom of 6 or the Summer Farmhouse Tour? Can't remember), had a scene where you zoomed in on the copper sink and the birch logs holding it up and I was like, "Okay, that is so charming. I'm sold. Subscribe." 😂 I love them, but I totally understand you needing something more permanent! This was a really fun video! ♡ Thanks for keeping it all in perspective. We ALL have our not-so-glamorous parts.
I have a Viking and a Viking toaster we love it
You have a gem in the making. A lot of beautiful things. I can see your vision.
YOUR STOVE!!!!!!!!! Oh I’m so excited for you! Can’t wait to see that beautiful piece in your kitchen, and just so so happy for you.
I love your home and style! Thank you for the reassurance that I am not alone in having so many things to finish in my house.
Thank you for being real.
My mom had a glass hanging lamp like the one yours! Wish I knew where it went!
Your home is beautiful. I bet if you didn't point out flaws, none of us would have noticed. Good work.
Most houses have things that could use some help. Your home is beautiful still 😃
You folks have done SO MUCH in four years !!! Great job :D
New viewer! Excited to have found this channel!!
Enjoyed seeing all your “wrongs” and hearing your plans. We’re in the midst gutting and rebuilding a fixer upper on acreage. The land was our dream so the house compromise was worth it. Hope we get to see some of your accomplishments over the year. Blessings.
I really appreciate seeing all the problem areas. I have a small 1926 bungalow style house and I’ve been refinishing doors, built-ins and wood work. We have some very unsexy plumbing issues to contend with this year, so it’s fun to get eclectic decorating ideas from you! By the way, I love your hair!
Love the youthful enthusiasm. Wishing you successful renovations in the year ahead.
All those jobs needing doing after several years would drive me nuts, you must have the patience of a saint. I live in England and love our old houses, can't beat the character of a house that's hundreds of years old, good luck with the renovation.
I am in my 22nd year of a “5 yr project”. Dont feel bad
This was much appreciated! There are things in my wonderful 100 y/o English cottage home (in Los Angeles) that are ridiculously in need of repair. And then other areas which are stellar! We do what we can do. God bless -
Honestly this video, once again, makes you so relatable! Old appliances next to new appliances, mostly finished spaces next to exposed studs, drywall, cement board etc. I would live to see see you do a follow up video late on the year of these same spaces, the progress you made, didn't make etc. Now to pick out my own paint samples...😉
Love this. I subscribed. I've always wanted an unfitted kitchen. I look forward to visiting your channel to see how yours comes along.
Love how real this is! It’s really inspired me to work on things at home to, and improve them!
Wowza - that shade of lipstick looks FABULOUS on you!
By happenstance I stumbled upon your UA-cam channel and I am delighted!!! My Mom was from Door County (Sister Bay) and I have such fond memories of enchanted summers spent there!
You are an amazing designer and artist and I can’t wait to go back and binge watch all your videos!
I’ve checked various times for a new video, thinking I’ve missed it.
What a treat to see you on a Saturday morning! ☕. So enjoyed the "behind the scenes". You have such brilliant ideas!! Can't wait to see the Transformation! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
WAHOO!!!! SHES BACK!! WE MISSED YOU!!!
Happy New Year from Scotland😀
The house Im in is from 1890 and is so cool in winter 🥶
