Why there were no remains of Jewish settlement in northern or central India?
The country now you call India, did not exist before British rule. There were princely states. South Indians and north east were separate kingdoms. And these were the places, Jews had no persecution. But now the whole country wants to claim how nice they were to Jews.

Jake, remember India had Christian settlements before there were any Christians in Europe. Similarly, there were Jewish settlements before Europe had its first Jewish township. And finally, India had a masjid and Islamic town during Muhammad’s lifetime, and before there were Muslim settlements in Iran, Iraq, Syria and Egypt. You can see it while you are in Kerala. There were pre-Islamic settlements of Arab traders in Gujarat too. They became Islamic post 700 CE.

I'm from Goa, and we had Jewish settlers too (they settled along the Konkan coast all the way to Kochi), but they're all eradicated after the Portuguese Catholic Inquisition invaded and ruled for 400 years and outlawed Hinduism, Jainism, Judaism, etc as heresy. If people worshiped other 'false gods / idols' their homes and properties were confiscated. It was mostly the Hindus who faced heavy opposition as it was seen as a pegan / devil worship / heretic faith by St.Francis Xavier and the rest of the inquisition. I'm Catholic myself, my ancestors converted, and it's just history to me. It's interesting how invasions change the whole demographic. Palestinians as well are indigenous Semitic / Jewish people, who were converted / assimilated to Islam in the very same way after many invasions by various Muslim empires, including the Ottoman empire for ~1200 years. Before that, Judea was renamed to "Palestina" by the Roman Byzantine empire, a word derived from the "Philistines", an ancient people who had lived in the coastal areas of Judea (like modern-day Gaza)... They're the very same people. Today Israelis & Palestinians shed their own blood. History is important.

India respects all religions and treat everyone with same respect and love… doesn’t matter to us if you speak.. english, hebrew or farsi… color don’t matter or region… we are pretty straight forward people… if you love us, respect our culture then we will reciprocate that… and if you don’t love us then we will not love you back but we don’t hate you as well.. we will think that you might be rude… not your complete race… we believe in giving personal space to everyone… it depends on every single person… if he or she wants to expand that personal space for sometime and enjoy this earth with us or not… thats it…

Thinking of the decade of 40's when jews community from all over the world were seeking refuge in India, they were filled with fear and helplessness. After all the sufferings, when everything settled down and they moved to Israel, we prayed that they should find happiness, joy, peace and prosperity. It's really nice to see that jews have it now, it's really nice to see that jews are standing strong and united as a nation. India will be always a home for jews.❤🇮🇳

Indeed Jews came to Kerala India over 2000 years ago fleeing the destruction of their Temple by Romans in Jerusalem. They got refuge here from local Maha Raja who gave them all rights and freedom to practice their religion as any other citizen. The Jewish community prospered engaging in business of trading spices and other exports. Never persecuted or harassed by Indian Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists any time . After creation of Israel in 1948 they started to migrate back for Aliya. Too bad that now only one Jew remaining in Cochin. They need to return to live in peace here given the constant terror and turmoil in Middle East with Arabs there. Come back and take your Synagogue, Cemetry, Buildings back before they are abandoned and fall into ruins and Indians will be blamed for that in future by fake media of Western countries concoting fake history.

Hyderabad ? I am native of Hyderabad and surprised you chose to visit Hyderabad, literally nothing the museums, palaces were world class but now they were all stolen or relocated to elsewhere. You should have gone to Hanumakonda, Warangal about 130 km away for ruins of 1000 pillar temple, based on those temples Hampi temples are constructed.
