Yeah it wouldn't make any sense for aang training kya to be a fighter like they were in alta because in atla they were literally child soldiers in a war. In lok they were just chilling in society.
Even if she lost it was an amazing display of waterbending. She lost because her strategy/style was off. She used way too many direct attacks which left her exposed. She should have focused on mid range area attacka and returning back the water after a dodge for a second strike.
Never gonna accept that a man who only just got airbending is a better bender than 85% of the cast of experienced, long time, born benders. Even if Kya is a little up there in age and a healer first, he had airbending for barely any time. It just makes no sense.
The reasoning is Zaheer is a master martial artist, and uses Air Bending to supplement his fighting. Also nobody really has experience fighting aggressive Airbenders at all. You can see the difference in skill in the Zaheer vs Tenzin fight, where Tenzin is literally untouched by Zaheer until the Red lotus starts 3v1ing him (later 4v1). I don't think we were given a time frame of how long between him getting his powers and when he broke out as well, he could've been training for weeks.
Shes a healer and also he didnt learn the same martial arts Tenzin practiced so she being used to it or not was not a factor since she never experienced his style before
I'd have to disagree. Tenzin was trained in air bending combat Zaheer wasn't. He's someone who mastered martial arts and then got air bending. So his fighting style is completely different that what Kya would be used to. It's kinda like how Boomi was fighting the earth bender when he first got his air bending. It was his own style
Kya was trained to be a healer by Katara, because it was a time of peace after Aang took down Ozai. Kya had no need to be a warrior like Katara, so her mother didn't teach her how to fight as well as how to heal.
If he didn’t have Aangs staff right there to grab he wouldn’t have gotten away that easy. As soon as he grab the staff it’s like his air bending upgraded just like Aang when he used it.
I mean it makes sense, not only zaheer is younger, he is a fighter, he had plenty experience fighting benders of all kind while Kaya is just a healer, she has never fought or a least not in a serious way since she was born in a peaceful time unlike katara. So for a healer who has no experience fighting she held her own really well

I was a little difficult watching an offspring of Aang and Katara get beat like that. It makes me more mad that Aang for only favoring Tenzin and not put any time on his other children.
She didn’t have to go around the world fighting she was chilling and healing most times so no experience with fighting fr
She’s not really a fighter so chill out
Yeah it wouldn't make any sense for aang training kya to be a fighter like they were in alta because in atla they were literally child soldiers in a war. In lok they were just chilling in society.
Even if she lost it was an amazing display of waterbending. She lost because her strategy/style was off. She used way too many direct attacks which left her exposed. She should have focused on mid range area attacka and returning back the water after a dodge for a second strike.
i mean, she is a healer..., i think she fought well for someone who wasn't trained to fight big battles.
One of my favourite fights
One of the best fight scenes! 😊
I always wonder the same thing. Although tenzin held his own against zaheer, but kya and other characters was a disappointment
@@maryhughie4070tenzin would destroy zaheer
Other than age being a factor I would’ve expected Kya to be slightly better prepared if she had Tenzin as a sparring partner.
exactly! She should be used to fighting an air bender
Shes a healer and also he didnt learn the same martial arts Tenzin practiced so she being used to it or not was not a factor since she never experienced his style before
@@NoitNoit-ef2yqbingo 🎯
I mean Tenzin isn’t exactly the greatest fighter either, so let’s not pretend that Kya would’ve gotten much out of any sparring anyways…
Kya got wrecked considering her mom was KATARA and dad was AANG
Zaheer has mastered himself he did it without bending abilities.he would give most lifetime benders a problem
Yup for such strong patents their kids weren’t enterprising, except for tenzin he turned out pretty well
Kya was trained to be a healer by Katara, because it was a time of peace after Aang took down Ozai. Kya had no need to be a warrior like Katara, so her mother didn't teach her how to fight as well as how to heal.
2:10 The confrontation starts here.
The way she slams him to the ground I mean how does he just get up from that? The physical fortitude of the characters in these shows is crazy
This probably one of the top mini fight in LOK
If he didn’t have Aangs staff right there to grab he wouldn’t have gotten away that easy. As soon as he grab the staff it’s like his air bending upgraded just like Aang when he used it.
1:46 that scene is from the Grinch lol
She bends just like her mother So much power, I love it.
Kya barely lost and shes not even a fighter like that. Shes morely a healer. She gets her flowers
kya showed us how waterbend is look like, not just splashing the water away
one of the best fight scenes! short but a lot of great back and forth
She fought like an airbender 💯
There this one theory i like "Air bender was still pretty rare, that's why lots of common guard / soldier can be easily taken down by airbenders."
Zaheer makes a horrible spy.
Why they gotta do Kya so dirty :(
She deserves some recognitions.
I mean it makes sense, not only zaheer is younger, he is a fighter, he had plenty experience fighting benders of all kind while Kaya is just a healer, she has never fought or a least not in a serious way since she was born in a peaceful time unlike katara. So for a healer who has no experience fighting she held her own really well
She did such a great job
Kya is a Waterbending master. Just like her mom and dad. 🌊
Let go your earthly tether
Enter the void.
Empty and become wind.
Am i the only one who thinks Kya's style is VERY aggressive?
Not as aggressive as Katara's tho..she's mainly on defensive notice how she manipulates the water around her first before doing something towards the enemy
@@kylieseneres3193i was just about to say this
@@Richenzo_99 I have watched ATLA a million times and i tell you katara is ruthless hahahaha also their upbringing is different katara was growing up on war time while i assume Kya was born where there was peace.
@@kylieseneres3193 I think Kya took inspiration from aang as the way she bends. Like of like how aang and tendon protect their perimeters
@@Richenzo_99 nice perspective.. probably so
That was anything but a leaf, though o_o
Those flip jumps were anything but a leat....
The way she fought better than the guards that were there to protect her
She's definitely Katara's daughter.
She definitely takes after her mom.
2:29
Imagine it’s wasn’t Zaheer and she just beat up some man for no reason!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
I love Zaheer so much, best villian in thr series (including Avatar) IMO
I love how the staff zaheer has is similar to Aang's second staff but the wings are orange insted of blue it makes me wonder how many new airbending staffs are made
Whenever I hear Kya's voice, I can't help but think of Mercy Graves from Superman: The Animated Series and the Justice League Series.
Is it just me or Kya's fighting style is similar to Katara? I mean, she is her mother lol but still, it's like watching Katara fighting Zaheer minus the losing because Katara in her prime would never lose to Zaheerlol
That depends if Kya’s skill could match or even grow far beyond from Katara’s teachings or not
Lol
He parried her twice.
Katara would have taught her well to fight with waterbending, despite Kya focusing primarily on healing.
Regardless kya failed 😂
This is very random but does anyone else think Kya's grunts sound a lot like Korra? Like 2:46, 2:59 and 3:25
huh I just noticed
Water tribe
I love Zaheer. He’s like Korra’s Ronan the Accuser. Like Unalaq is Korra’s Yon-Rogg.
Favorite villain in the entire series. No nonsense, efficient AND did exactly what he planned (aside from failing to end the avatar cycle)
And never once did it for pride or vanity, just for the sake of the people
Yeah, he reminds me a lot of Azula
look's like kya recognised you zaheer.
