  • My first solo adventure on the Tidal Trent. Lots of lessons learnt along the way where the weather conditions were far from perfect!

    Best of luck on your next outing feller. A blank makes your next outing all the more sweeter, when you bank that quality fish.

    Fabulous video fella , exactly what a UA-cam video should be . Bastard boat owners have zero consideration for anglers .
    Just subscribed. Tight lines

      It's morons like you sitting behind your sea fishing gear that give proper anglers a bad name.I fish for Barbel and don't launch 5oz leads to the far bank.

    Cracking video, there are some proper knob boat owners, regarding rigs, I use wide gape beaked point hooks (gripz widehooks), flurocarbon hooklinks tend to break easier than straight mono hooklinks, the pva is good idea, but after your casting, because the size of the pva, yes it is moving to the spots, but its blunting your hooks as it's moving,,dragging your rigs into the snags, on the nearside edge ,the shelf is normally really rocky, what strength gear was you using?, you can always pm me, I moved from Essex up to East Midlands awhile back, so going from the river lea to the trent ,bit of a change of gear needed lol, good health and safe travels, cheers craig

      Hi Craig thanks for the comments. I agree the solid bags do “drift” next time I’ll be using mesh as I found they drop really quick! Tackle wise I was using braid as mainline and as per the vid small 12” lead core and 10lb esp ghost floro…

      @@mannonthebank4975 regarding the bites, as you noticed the bend in the tip, but you need to be able to see your tips ,as some bites are just afew knocks on the tip, plus it'll help you spot Brean bite and on the tidal ,mitten crabs too, I use 0.30mm 17.5lb main line, and same for hooklinks, some mono/braid combi links, , say you can always pm me as I live nxt ti middle trent, hope these bits of info help, good health and safe travels, cheers craig

    Top marks for persevering, keep on keeping on and it will all come right in the end. If its not a secret where do you get those there PVA extra long bags from?

      Thanks bud. Now that is a question. Many years ago I had a good mate that had a company called Mo’s Co. I wanted these bags whilst fishing heavy weed and had loads of success on them and asked him to make me a 1000 of them. Alas Mo no longer trades and I’m down to my last 15! However, during the session I found the funnel web actually sank quicker than the bags…

    What rod do you use? 6oz lead plus this big loaded pva - it must be a heavy rod? 3,5 lb?

    • @mannonthebank4975
      @mannonthebank4975  3 роки тому

      It’s a big bag and yes 6oz at times. The rod. 2.75lb century FBS… it will cast a bag that size to the other side if I need it to. Plus side is they have a great playing action too so it’s win win…

    1st of your videos that I’ve come across ~ really enjoyed your account of your first tidal Trent visit. What a f*ckin selfish, idiotic tw*t that boater was, glad you got your rods back undamaged. Gr8 video & I’ll certainly be watching more videos of yours. 👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻🎣🎣
