Hi, Just a 2 way. Quick and easy swap for everyone with some basic skill of wiring. Sound is a lot better than stock for the regular person. Has good bass, no distorsions. Don't use added bass or enhancement in the menu option for the factory headunit.
if your replacing the old speakers in any car, then your probably throwing them away so just cut off the old connector wires as close to the speaker cone as possible and crimp blades connectors onto them wires and plug onto the new speaker, thus creating an adapter, and giving you more space to work with.
After the video i have found connector adapters for the oem plug, thus avoiding cutting wires and keeping clean install. Ebay, aliexpress, amazon and such...
First of all thank you for showing how to do it. Second this is ridiculous I am surprised you don't have to disassemble the entire engine just to unscrew a simple speaker out. How difficult would it be for the speakers to simply have a plastic cover that you can remove to gain access to them???
Hello, 2 years later 😅 I’ll be thankful if you answer my question and help me! The car has 4 speakers (2 front and 2 rear) 16.5 as you already said. But there are 2 more smaller ones on the dashboard right under the windshield, which are tweeters. What about them? What’s their size and how to replace them?
Hi, The tweeters are held into position through a twisting motion, a proprietary method. If you search images of the factory tweeters you will see some "wings" built into them, which grab and hold onto slots dedicated for them. Replacing them would require some tinkering for this car model because of their location. A creative idea would be to use a spare set to chop off the existing tweeter and "glue in" an upgraded unit. As for size, it shouldn't be a problem. For example the Hertz Dieci DSK 165.3 kit has tweeters that will fit (i'm using this brand name as an example, not promoting or anything else) as sold by some vendors as dedicated replacement for C4 2004-2010
@@radxtech6069 thank you for the answer! For now I’ll try with the 2 rear and 2 front speakers. I am still looking for the best as price/performance. Maybe I’ll update you when I am done.
There is no problem. An amp will always be a good thing even on stock speakers the same as better speakers will be performing better than stock ones. Amp + upgraded speakers is even better.
@@radxtech6069 i just finished with the same speakers you used. Sounds much much better even without an exta amp. Thanks again. But even if I change the rear ones with the same type of spekers is ok? Can the stock amp handle it?
16.5cm (or 6.5) inch is the size for the front and for the rear. If you wish to try different size best to open the door and use a cutout shape of the 17cm size to see if it works
are the rear speakers the same size. due to water damage both my left speakers have perished and i would swap my rear right for the front left. im from Yorkshire so thats the cheap option

Hi, I don't think it will work because is an oval. or maybe with some modifications!? Use round speakers 165mm/6.5 inch And for cable connectors, I found on aliexpress connector adapters from citroen/peugeot speakers to the universal blade type.
Hey RadXTech, I have just started to upgrade the quality of sound for my Citroen ( In Latvia we call it a Lemon because lemon is Citrons ) however I just put in an active subwoofer and not sure where to add that blue cable the one gives impulse to the subwoofer.... i tested it with puting to the baterry but well thats not right... anyway the main question is - whats the W of original speakers and why did you replaced it ? and how about the other speakers ? Thanks in advance , peace and love !
Hey Thanks for your interests. The rear speakers on the Citroen C4 mk1 coupe (3 door hatch) and berline (5 door hatch) are 165mm in diameter For the rest of the components will share the replacement of factory head unit with a new touchscreen LCD display (android 10) As they are different from stock, could not help you with subwoofer specs on the factory unit.
Not needed. There isn't any justified reason to have them struggling inside the door. Upgrade the tweeters in the dash near the windscreen area if you want. And add a subwoofer in the trunk on the side gaps where the factory woofer unit is located (on select trims) example in link below c4owners.org/plugins/forum/attachment/24127/1353856605_24127_FT175568_jblboot_.jpg

With the adapters i think you'll keep the factory plug and just solder on the adapter wires the connectors.
Sadly youtube blocks for copyright reasons the video with the sound comparison stock vs these speakers. I shall try to upload on a different site and see if it is allowed there. You can use any speakers you may like that fit the 165mm diameter. As shown in the video some cutting of the plastic shroud may be required for some speakers because of the connectors position.
