Thank you so much for your wonderful support 🙂 Yes, it truly is a liberating feeling! Tell us about yourself, are you currently living the RV lifestyle?
@@HappilyEverHanks take no offense when I say it guy I thought you were younger than 30 but when people say youngster I add 10 years to my guess of there age. So you are around 30 and my guess is she's around 36?
Another great video! You two never disappoint. I admire you for budgeting and getting rid of your debt. There are many people that could do that but they’re too worried about name brands and the appearance of being richer than they are. It’s rare to see young people that have the discipline it takes to do what you did. I’m 60 y/o and debt free also. It’s a wonderful feeling and I wish I had done it at your age. Well done!!
As a brand new person to the RV world this channel is helping me a lot with my worries. You two answer so many of my questions and you do it in a simple and straightforward way which I really appreciate.
Being debt free is really crucial in our humble opinions to make this work (and we are retired) but I think striving for simplicity and financial independence no matter your path in life is one of the pillars to being content. Thanks for sharing your particulars, I know you have helped and encouraged a lot of folks. BTW we just left Michigan (the UP and northern) where we did almost 2 weeks at various BW hosts and loved it. Wish our paths would cross....so close😉🙃 Dave and Lorrie
Absolutely Dave and Lorrie!! Thank you so much for your wonderful support as always ❤️We are so close indeed!!! We hope that our paths can cross soon :) Much love to you both
Or you pansies can stop voting for establishment politicians and clean this dirty rotten government out it has lost the right to rule..I make 33 a hour and can barley survive this is un acceptable
Just discovered your channel and enjoy the content and presentation. We’ve rv’d for 45+ years but not full time. We were weekend warriors until I retired 2+ years ago. Owned my finance biz 35 years. As such I can tell you debt is a major issue for most. Regardless of income. Most will spend more than they make. They want that instant gratification. No accident, we prepped for this for 47 years. Kids grown & gone. We are now out for a couple of 2 week trips + a snowbird 6-8 week trip per year. We also are out 4-5 days about 6-8x a year as well. Our goal is being out at least once a month year round. Keeping our sticks & bricks. Keep up the good work. Best to both of y’all.
Wow Herb! Thank you so much for your wonderful support 😃🙌🏼 You guys have a TON of experience in RV’ing!! Yes, debt can be such a burden financially. We are just so thankful that we took the time to create the position we are currently in. It sounds like you are very successful 😃 Congrats to you, this is inspiring! Please keep these comments coming in other videos of ours as you watch. You mean so much to us and it has been nice getting to know you a little - Kyle and Renee
Welcome to TN!!! We just bought our first camper debt free. We listened to Dave Ramsey early on in our 24-year marriage and lived like no one else so one day we can live like no one else. Looking forward to new adventures. Your advice is so helpful and a hoot to watch. Thanks.
Thank you so much Lisa! That is so amazing! Y’all are an inspiration, not only in finances but marriage!! We hope to meet y’all on the road one day soon, keep wonderful comments coming 😊🙌🏼
Hey guys once again a great video. I really like the breakdown of your expenses. This video will also catch up any newbies to your channel, great info thanks Carl and Ney Ney
Great info, but I will say when we had to use a laundry mat all the time it was more like $15/week for 2 of us, not $15/month. For anyone crunching numbers, that might be a more realistic figure.
Thank you for this wonderful feedback Becky! We appreciate your support and comments 😊🙌🏼 Best to you both, stay safe and have a great rest of your weekend!
AWESOME!! Great video!! So glad you have been learning along the way... Yes... stay longer and save... but get out there and explore... good for you!! well done. ~ Brad and Diana
I think a washer and dryer is more of a convince, and not so much a return on investment. People pay $4000 to $6000 in residential units because of convenience, and don’t have the advantage of free water and electricity like we do. We, and when I say we, I mean my wife, loves our washer and dryer. Believe me, if you get one, you won’t regret it. Now that you’re staying in places a month at a time, does that mean there’s a chance you’ll come hang with us in Galveston this winter? Keep um coming!
There is a definite advantage to owning a washer and dryer But I can see how the sticker shock may turn some off but it nice to be able to wash clothes when ever you feel the need
People often forget that Cost-Benefit Analysis includes non Monetary Costs & Benefits such as happiness. Does that $4000 bring more happiness in the form of your appliances or the money saved (and spent elsewhere)
Great information! We spend about $15 a week doing laundry depending on what each campground charges. Just curious as to how often you guys do laundry. I would really like to keep that cost down. This year we have been using Boondockers Welcome more too! We love it and, like you said, really keeps the cost down. Thanks for sharing! We love you guys! Hope you’re having fun at the rally!
Thank you for sharing Cathy!! We usually do laundry about once every two weeks. Yes! Boondockers Welcome is such a great program 😃Much love to you guys as well!! Stay safe friends :)
We actually only do a load every 2 weeks. We do everything in bulk at laundromats (much bigger washer and dryers compared to RV parks). Also the amount of detergent we use is way more frugal than most people would be. Hope this helps!
I was also wondering this. We do laundry about once every 1-2 weeks and it’s $3 a load for wash and dry at our current park which is pretty cheap compared to what we usually pay at at a park or a campground. We’re spending a minimum of $30/month on laundry. And that’s not including soap
@Brian Herndon they don’t work. According to the video they’re taking at least a year off…unless I misunderstood that. But I have my own business and work from my camper so no uniform to have to keep up with
Maybe someone else asked… what about health care costs / medical or dental insurance? I am a nurse practitioner and many of my decisions in life have been based on needs like those. I so enjoy living vicariously through you two!
We felt like we couldn't provide good value with that subject so we didn't want to potentially provide bad information. We avoid doctors lol. We do have insurance through united healthcare. Thanks for watching!
I'm in research mode for considering full time RV living, and I'm so glad ya'll broke this down the way you did, and talked about the winter season specifics.
Oh how I wish we were as smart as you at that age! lol But here we are in our 50’s finally debt free and about to hit the road. Never to late! Thanks Hanks for your tips and tricks. Have not sold my husband on the foam board skirting idea yet though even though it would be so much cheaper!
Love the Video's!! Wife and i will be starting our Journey next April, just ordered our Grand Design Momentum 350G and an F350. We live in South Carolina right now and my wife is a new Nurse herself, she just graduated this year from Nursing school and i retire from the military this year. Looking forward to meeting you guys sometime. You're not far from us now in Tennessee . You guys have made it so much more simple for us to be able to start the full time life.
Hey Lee! Thank you so much!!! Congrats to your wife for graduating nursing school and thank you for your service in the military! ❤️ Would love to meet someday!
Well, again another great video! I really can’t say more than what has already been said. I know we will be doing laundry at the laundry mats and campgrounds. We are still downsizing and getting ready. This video helps a lot with the budgeting, I really had no idea on propane. Thanks again. Great job!
Very enlightening! We are not even full time yet and have already traveled (towed) 10,715 miles in 9 months. I wish we had kept up with all the ACTUAL numbers like you guys have but instead I have only kept up with mileage, rv park cost, and average fuel difference. We originally got our RV because traveling so much for archery tournaments and we hate hotels, especially in light of the events happening now globally. In the near future we will be upgrading to a larger travel trailer and going a similar route to you guys by downsizing our stuff massively. Love the videos, keep them coming and maybe one day our paths will cross.
Thank you so much for your wonderful support Donny, Tasha and Carl! 😊 This is wonderful to hear! Ya'll sound like you are seeing a lot of great places! Archery tournaments!? 😃 That sounds really awesome. Keep these great comments coming, it's great talking with you guys
Love seeing the numbers. Thanks #TeamHanks. Awesome video. As the Prince of Thrift, I am especially interested in BoonDockers Welcome, once Pat and I buy our RV.
We're also in our 30's and do full time RV life. We converted a cargo trailer to be our home/business on wheels. We currently operate out of it on the road. We do strictly boondocking so we save so much by not going to RV parks and we get closer to nature and more bike trails. I'm also a nurse but opted for a different career avenue rather than travel nursing and we can afford the change since we boondock. Totally reccomend it! A generator was our best investment!
Neyney "do you need back support?"😂 You two always find entertaining ways to share information!👍Your debt pay off was unreal, you two are just impressive!!
Hi guys! Thanks to the Hanks for this video! Very informative! We have been living full time in our RV for a year now and will be hitting the road in November! It is all abouy budgeting and making it work.
Great video! I love how you broke open the books and showed us everything! The laundry was a big shocker for me! We don’t have the washer dryer combo, and are only part-time, and I find doing all our laundry using several washers in the laundry mat very satisfying! So fast!
Great breakdown of expenses! Becoming debt free is the most crucial step anyone can take, it takes a lot of strength to do and I applaud you for it! Well done!
Thank you very much Bud!! We found becoming debt free to be SOOO liberating! We really appreciate your support friend, you bring smiles to our faces 😊Have a great weekend! Talk to you again soon
A very informative video. My wife and I are both retired we only rv part time . We live right in the middle of Louisiana. Years ago we used to do a lot of motorcycle trips Roanoke , Va, Jacksonville, Florida up the east to Myrtle beach SC to the bike rally . We had so much fun and we stayed in a brand new Condo that was doing some half price promotions. A few years later we bought our first rv a toy hauler. We are now on our 5 th rv , we no longer ride bikes due to a 18 wheeler wreck that left me partially disabled. We now own a Jayco 38 ft eagle premier travel trailer . In one of our previous rv’s we traveled out west to many locations . We now do just local trips but enjoy it just the same . Love your channel keep up the good work.
Hey Louis!! This is so wonderful to hear! Y’all sound like you are living it up to the fullest 😎🙌🏼 thank you for taking the time to share all this with us, it’s great to hear your side of the adventures. We hope to hear from you again soon, maybe we will run into you one day out on the road 😊👍🏼 Stay safe!!
That was so interesting, what sensible decisions you've made. I'm at the opposite end of my life, working hard to clear debt, then sell the house and live smaller debt free and be able to travel. Good for you being so focused. Stay safe x
Good video! It is a mysterious black hole as to where all that money goes. We still have our S&B home so there is that expense as well. But love your Laundry part, I have always said it does not pay to have a washer dryer with weight and the addition to your gray tanks and the cost I am happy to go to a laundromat, you meet all kinds of people there. We would go about every 2 weeks and make a day of it, get our groceries and fuel up for our next move so it was just how we rolled. We could get in and out in about 45 min and do about 3-4 machines full at one time, something that takes us all day at home. Keep up the good work
That’s a perfect way to do it! It’s always best to get it all done at once LOL we find ourselves doing the exact same routine. Thank you so much for your wonderful support and feedback, we appreciate you guys 😊👏🏼🙌🏼 Stay safe!
Good stuff. We have been full time for over a year. Yep staying out save money! Our rent is monthly , gas is cheaper , laundry a little more. We got an air fryer and an instapot and barely use propane.
I think this is one of the best breakdowns I've seen. Each one is different maybe what they track is not the same as another. Point is it's a snapshot into how you stay viable so you can live your dreams totally cool!
The reason National Parks and other campgrounds lower prices in the winter is that water or other services are shut down, reducing their maintenance cost. Typically you are not paying for garbage pickup, cleaning out fire pits, mowing, water pumping, septic pumping, etc. during the winter. We boondock on Forest Service land all the time for free, they call it "Dispersed Camping".
Full time RV travel nursing here 👋🏻👋🏻 been on the road almost 2 years now! My wife is the nurse, I’m the RV dad! Our son is homeschooled. I can not wait to be debt free!!!! Big big goal...
I think the washer and dryer is more necessary for people with kids. The amount of laundry is just exponentially more. For some the time and energy saved may be worth the investment. It also means less clothes to carry around. I saw one video where they had a machine that both washed and dried in the same "bucket," no need to rotate laundry and takes up less space.
I really enjoy everything you two talk about. You mentioned portable washers. My little portable spin dry washer, that I put in my bathtub on a plastic crate when I use it, cost just under $100 on Ebay and I wouldn't part with it. They do a very nice job if you use and treat them properly. You don't stuff them full, you don't stop the spin before it's finished, etc. I think I've had it about 3 years and I'm still impressed with the good job it does for such a little washer.
Thank you very much for your support!! 😃This is great information that you have shared with us, we appreciate you taking the time to write this out for us and everyone reading. It is nice to know that the portable washers do a good job! What kind of RV do you currently own??
@@HappilyEverHanks We don't own an RV but are seriously considering getting one to get away from our cold winter weather. Our biggest concern is can we handle it since we are in our 70s. My husband is a retired truck driver so the driving part isn't a concern, he's still good there. We're just wondering about everything else. We would prefer boondocking and wonder if there are others in our age bracket doing it. We own rural acreage and would come back here for the summer.
@@HappilyEverHanks The portable washer is pretty good also in that you can save water by washing perhaps some delicate things or whatever hardly gets dirty, then squeeze the water out of them, pop them in the spin side and wash your socks, or work shirts, etc. in the hardly dirty wash water. Works just fine and water is saved. One thing I also do is wash jeans one pair at a time because they are bulky and heavy and the washer is small. I don't try to make a workhorse out of it and overload it. I also don't use the full amount of time. In my experience it hasn't taken but six or seven minutes on dirty things. No need to make the machine run plus use electricity if not needed.
That’s fantastic to hear! We have met many other people that do Boondocking in all ages. It seems like a great way to save some money and get off grid, we are hoping to do this more in the future as well! That’s also so cool to hear about the washer not needing electricity, how convenient!! Sounds like you have it down to a science 😃👍🏼 keep these wonderful comments coming on our videos as well, your feedback means so much to us!!! Best to you both, we hope to talk again soon ❤️
@@HappilyEverHanks What I should have said is saving water. I was being distracted and not thinking clearly. Sorry. It does use electricity no matter what water is being used, and one has to be careful with the electric cord when using it in a bathtub, shower, etc. I put the washer on a rectangular shaped plastic crate (I think they're used in bakeries) which keeps it up out of the water when it empties, then I drape the electric cord over a command hook on the wall under the shower then into a short heavy duty extension cord which reaches the wall receptacle.
The Hanks rock! Nicely done blog with a breakdown of your expenses, née née definitely knows how to crunch the numbers and that’s why you guys are debt free at your young ages! And yes Kyle the “big 30” is still young, but I can definitely say the both of you are wiser than your years. It is definitely nice to be part of the “debt free “club which opens up more time to explore and have some stress free fun times along the way. It took us some time to rid ourselves of our worldly possessions ie: houses, rentals, and business to realize the freedom from being beholden to our creditors. We keep reminding ourselves how wonderful it is to have no debt hanging over our heads. Such a feeling of true freedom to be part of the club! Cheers to the Hanks, and cheers to being debt free ❤️! #debtfreeclub
Thank you so much Tim! We will talk about the feeling of being debt free forever! The only people that can't stand it are the ones not trying to do the same! We are very passionate about this topic! Thanks for the great comment and support! #debtfreeclub
Thanks for showing us how cost can add up if we don’t think ahead. It’s better to stay longer at each location rather then brief stays. The cost add up. This was a great how to video on saving while living the RV life.
Absolutely! Thank you so much for your continued and wonderful support 😊👋🏼 It's amazing how quickly things can add up like you said! Cheers to you! Stay safe
You guys are amazing! You learned early in life what was important. Do you own stuff or does your stuff own you? I love it that you are able to travel and have all these exciting experiences! Well, a tree falling on yr house wasn’t so awesome, but, you’re doing okay…😉
Thank you so much Terri!! We appreciate your awesome support :) This is a great question!! We are very thankful for you, have a great upcoming weekend ❤️
Great and timely info. My hubs and I are hitting the road full time at the end of the month, so it is nice to see especially the gas, propane, and laundry.
Thank you for the break down 🫂 ... What was the total spent? Cost of RV? What about maintenence cost? (Tires replacement, motor maintenence, oil change, Water pump, etc) List of bare minimum basic items (propane tanks, kitchen items, pan, cup, bed, blankets, towels, etc) Maybe a full checklist 🤔 What items worth getting used versus new? ... As for the washer dryer, been looking up for the past 2 years, they are under $1K not sure where that $1,500 price came from 🤔
This is great feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out, we will have to come up with some more descriptive content around these :)
Great video, love the transparency of your costs. We are working towards being debt free, and also figuring out what avenues I could pursue with a Kinesiology degree to RV full-time
I appreciate your candor and applaud your elimination of debt. We tackled debt later but discipline and the snowball method got us out and that made retirement so much easier.
Great informative video. Every time my wife adds items to our trailer, she sees convenience i see all the hidden cost Like weight and fuel cost. Be industrious and frugal, and you will become rich. B Franklin.
So glad to have found you guys! Great info! We’ve been wanting to RV full time, but I have a lot of questions. I was trying follow your RV Park total for the year but either I missed it, or your forgot to give the yearly total. Would you mind sharing? It’s super great info! Thanks so much for all of the tips!
Congrats to living on the road for 4 years. This video is so helpful. Thanks for sharing the details of your expenses! We love how you often give tips in your videos about ways to save money and the wonderful example that you've set by living debt free. Oh, and thanks for the laughs. We've been bingeing your videos and your antics are hilarious. Keep up the good work!
Thank you guys so much! We greatly appreciate your support and taking the time to comment. We are so happy you enjoy the sense of humor and find it valuable. Are you guys currently living the RV life? 😃
@@HappilyEverHanks Not yet. Our goal is to transition to RV life, though. We just spent the last 17 years homeschooling our sons and are entering a new chapter of life with more travel. This summer was all about pushing ourselves to get out there and tent camp so that we could travel around our beautiful state. But we did just buy a small squaredrop camper and we'll be continuing our adventures in that. We definitely have the philosophy of START NOW with what you have and then upgrading from there without increasing our debt load. Which is why we appreciate your message so much. It's tempting to want to get out there and buy the best truck and RV combo but we're trying to do this in a fiscally responsible way.
That’s awesome that you guys are taking things in your own time. Love that! We wish you guys nothing but all the success in your upcoming adventures. We hope to meet y’all out there one day soon on the road 😃🙌🏼
I have always wondered how people are able to pull this off. I find all of this very inspiring. Very great information to share! Safe travels and keep it up.
Love you two! You should be very proud of your accomplishments! We were one salary family, so was harder to pay off debt. Got house paid off 6 years before retiring and paid off all remaining when retired. It makes you feel great inside! Very Respectfully, Kevin
Hey Kevin! Carl and Ney Ney here 😃We wanted to reach out and see how you have been? Is retirement treating you well lately? We are finally catching up on some R&R here. Been driving a lot lately! Anyways, we just wanted to reach out and see what was new on your side of the world? Hope you are doing well friend, stay safe out there!
Oh my goodness, we are so sorry you’re going through all this ❤️❤️ glad things ended up coming back negative, happy you are able to keep a positive outlook on things and that you have another granddaughter coming! Congrats to you guys!!! Much love to you from the Hanks family!! Stay safe 😊👋🏼
Hey guys, great video. I too am a travel nurse (nurse mercenary) to be exact. Gone from Maine to Texas to Colorado to Alaska to Wyoming. By far my time in the RV was my favorite. If you haven't done one already, a video about your RV, why you picked it and the truck you use. Videos like that are most helpful to folks trying to get in to this RV/Traveler life!!
Hey Robert!! This is so wonderful to hear 😁🙌🏼 You certainly have seen a lot of places in your travels I would imagine! We appreciate your feedback, this is a wonderful idea ❤️ We hope that we can hear from you on other videos as well, you feedback is really valuable to us in helping us in towards the right direction
@@HappilyEverHanks Sounds great guys, I know your doing the RV things but if you ever wanna park that beast somewhere and head to bush Alaska, good ER nurses are hard to come by! Take care and safe travels to you guys..
You guys are awesome! Love your videos and how (no matter what), you are always positive. One additional thing on cost saving for the washer and dryer (that I always consider), is the added weight.. more gas $$. Take care!
I am with you in some many of these but for me being completely debt free is the best thing I have done for myself. In addition, I use the sun a whole lot to power everything which saves me money and, I haven't used my stove in years so propane for me lasts me a couple of years or so. It can be done cheap for sure without sacrificing anything.
You guys are awesome! A lot of great information (and entertainment) in your videos. I bought my first camper back in July and I can’t wait to hit the road. Hopefully, one day, we can meet up and have a beer 🙃
So glad you 2 can have such fun at a young age. Sure wish we had. It's so funny hubby and I wait a week long to watch your video and then say oh it's over now what!! Lol. Sure enjoy your topics. We have never really budgeted in our lives but pd our house off so we are good. We also did the Dave Ramsey for about a month! Good video we loved it! Have fun n Safe travels!! Hugs from the Hanks!!
Another great session with you two awesome people😎 Funny AND so wise at such a young age....inspirational to us all🥰 I hope you are able to enjoy many more years of the RV life....love that mentioned a family in the future...you guys will make great parents ❤ Thanks for sharing the deets😎 Very informative 🌼
Thank you so much Lisa!! You mean so much 🤗You are so kind and always brighten our days by reading your comments! We hope to meet you one day soon ❤️ Much love to you from the Hanks family! Stay safe
Hey Lisa!! Carl and Ney Ney here 🤗We just wanted to reach out and see how you are doing? What's new in your neck of the woods? We are in the middle of a bunch of travel days here, it been hectic but we are so happy to be back home and on the road 😀We are thinking of you, hope you are doing well. Stay safe out there!
Awesome. We’ve been fulltime RV since January 2022. My wife’s a travel nurse too. I’m a stay at home/RV dog dad internet researcher at the moment lol. She just paid off her student debt in less than a year as of last week. Such a great feeling. Do you guys use thousand trails membership? We bought a second hand membership. And it’ll pay itself off in about 180 nights of stays. We are in Cali at the moment it’s saving us about 1300 a month in stays. Cali is stupid expensive but we’re here for that travel 💰and we are pocketing the entire stipend which is pretty substantial. Your channel is great enjoy your vids 👍
@@HappilyEverHanks hubby and I were on your channel earlier and he said "we are about due for another video" and I was like, "ding ding ding.. YES!! Today is Thursday, 7:15 pm CT.. LETS GOOO" hahah
thanks for your video ! this is exactly the video I was looking for. my wife and I were thinking about doing the same thing because she's going to be a traveling nurse and I'm going with her. this answered all my questions and now I know RVing won't work for us financially. I also applaud your way of thinking, we're also going to pay off all our debt and live our best life now and not wait til the "retirement age"... So thank you soooo much !!!
The quality of these video productions for someone that is full time RVing is amazing. I like how most RVers possess the skills and ability to produce Hollywood quality videos on their UA-cam channel as they are scouring the Earth for the next place to park their travel trailer.
Thursday night is "Hanks Night"! The truck is in the driveway (took 5 months), the RV has arrived (took 5 months), the house is under contract and closing is scheduled (took 3 days), and reservations have been made for about a year. Now all that is left is hitting the road at the end of the month! We'll see ya out there. Keep up the great videos ya'll.
Hey Bob!! Carl and Ney Ney here 🙂👋🏼How have you been? Are things going well on your side of the world? We are thinking about you and just wanted to reach out to say hi! Anyways, be well friend. We hope you are having a great week 😊Stay safe
More solid level headed real world experiences shared with documentation!!! Very nice job!! Thanks 4 sharing we really enjoy your content and your down to earth and downright funny personalities!!!
Great video.... you guys are right saving money and paying off debt is freeing. So many people owe so much money and live check to check. I have lived full time for 6 years in my 33 foot rv and love it. I did it 6 years ago to save money and live simpler. I would never go back to sticks and bricks. Thanks for all the info.
Hello from Ouray! Thank you very much for sharing this video! It is awesome info to help folks plan. Our travel trailer arrives within a month. I think our plan will be to predominately do 1-2 week boondocking trips for the next 5 years while we still work. After that, we'll push out for 1-2 month trips, then return back to the mountains for a month or so before heading out again. I have to say that out of all of the figures you presented, the laundry mat vs installing a washer/dryer in your rig was the most surprising! Congrats on putting your noses to the grind stone to being able to achieve all of this!! That is awesome!
Hello there! Thank you so much for your wonderful support 😊 It's nice to meet you! How exciting, we are so happy for you guys and your upcoming adventures! Love how you guys are able to make it fit around your work schedules and then eventually venture out for longer periods of time. Yes, we just want to keep it real and provide the data. That way, others can make a decision that is best for their lifestyle needs! Cheers to you guys, we hope to hear from ya'll again soon
@@HappilyEverHanks thank you, that’s awesome! Finally having somebody do this sort of thing was much needed. We really enjoy your channel, keep it up! Carol/Coral/Kyle/Carl! Yes, the struggle is very real…🤨😃
Thank you so much Dawn 🤗 It definitely is a work in progress, we always are learning so much, but we are glad we can accomplish little by little ❤️❤️ much love to you for all your wonderful support!! Talk to you again soon 🙂
This boy was incredibly informative! Thank you so much I appreciate all of the work y’all put into your videos😊🖤 we’re not rv living yet but hope to do so in the next year or so. Y’all’s videos have been so helpful 😊🖤
Wow!! Kyle "Carl" and Renae "Ney Ney" your story is amazing!! If I had to go into the er for something Kyle would have made me feel at ease. You too have just great bedside manners and a sense of humor to die for!! I have subscribed and watch you daily now!! Thanks for sharing!
@@HappilyEverHanks that's great!!! So happy to hear this. We will be doing both working and vacationing in our coach whenever we eventually get it lol feels like forever. Next week maybe🤞
We love being debt free! Loved how you showed the changing in cost for RV parks as you learned as you go! Maya said to high paw Dexter for having financially responsible parents! Chasing RV Sunshine ☀️ Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya
As Sea Shed said, the investment in a washer/dryer unit, in my opinion, is “paid off” more so in your time and ease of use, as opposed to strictly monetary cost to use ratio. I agree that it’s an individual choice based on what each person is willing to deal with when it comes to laundry.
Wow! Great bookkeeping and stats. We saved money by trading our cat in for a dog to save on cat litter. We used the savings to buy snow boots and a parka when the dog needs to go out in the winter snow.
It was great to meet you at the rally. I checked out the damage to the rv from the tree. Good luck with the repair schedule. I have a portable washer that we usually wash the clothes and then take them to the laundry mat to dry. For small amounts we hang them out to dry. The small dryers are jut too expensive.
Hey Keith! It was so nice to meet you at the rally! Thank you so much for the feedback!! We are still debating getting one of those portable washers! Safe travels!
Thank you for such a useful video. Very helpful. So glad we did this for 10 years in the 80"s and 90"s when we were younger and childless. That's when it's a fun learning experience. Not when you are too old to hike, bike and climb. Many times we were the only ones at campgrounds because RVs were not popular and living in one made people wonder what was wrong with us. It was super inexpensive and provided a freedom that's indescribable. I can't imagine doing it today at such high prices for everything.
Thank you so much for this! 😊 we really try to maintain this lifestyle, we feel that being frugal has been the foundation piece to the puzzle Best to you friend! Talk again soon
So refreshing to see another couple who are on the same page financially. Wife and I are in our late 60s and have lived a wonderful life. We sacrificed some the first half of our marriage but do almost the opposite now and pay cash for everything. "Debt free asap" became our motto. We have friends and family members who did just the opposite and are paying the price big time for their care free spending lifestyle.
This is the best and realest video I have watched regarding RV living and I really appreciate the breakdown. It was very informative keep it up please!!!
Hey guys, I just wanted to drop a line and say how meaningful finding your channel is to my wife and I. We are a few years out from full time but you have been inspirational to us and an invaluable resource. Kyle, your information on the water filter and 90 degree adapter got me thinking, we have very hard water with a lot of minerals and it wreaks havoc on our appliances. I went to the Wal store and purchased two adapters and two filters and attached them to our cloths washing machine, I am certain having better water will help cleaning our clothes and the filter is sure to prolong the life of our washer! Your tips are useful even in our "sticks and bricks:, and will be used when we RV. Thanks for the great tips and for a way to save our appliances from costly repairs and shorter life. We appreciate all you guys are doing. Bill
Hey Bill! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this thoughtful comment out 😃 This means a lot to us! Yes, you are certainly correct. Getting a water softener, can help greatly improve with lifestyle things including showers, laundry, etc. Those hard minerals sure add up like you said. Thank you so much for your wonderful support, we really look forward to hearing from you again soon 😊👋🏼
Wise young people to be debt free. We also followed Dave Ramsey and achieved that goal, too. We will be hitting the road fulltime in November. Our new - used 5th will be delivered tomorrow! We clear on the house at the end of the mo th. Having an estate sale to significantly downsize in a few weeks. I'm exhausted with so much going on, but God is good and has opened the doors. #thankshanks!
Dave Ramsey's forbidding credit cards makes me not listen to him. Credit card debt is the killer, not credit cards Look how much they spent for the year, if everything was paid for with a credit card they would be getting airline miles or cash back or whatever perk you choose. The key is to pay off every month. We have been debt free for years but we put EVERYTHING on our Platinum airlines credit card. We pay off twice a month and have yet to pay for an airline ticket. We can fly off to see our Grandkids any time we want, no need to save up for tickets. Dave Ramsey can't control himself so he thinks no one else can either.
Yes, we maximize usage of the credit cards as well :) Make the MOST use out of our money. If you are not out of control with spending, it makes no difference whether it's cash or credit card!
@@linmurray436 we also use 1 credit card and pay off every month. That is where my husband and I differ with Ramsey. But nevertheless, it's a great program and aided us to become debt free. And I still listen to him. 🙂
Glad I was able to find your channel again! I started watching over the summer and kinda geeked out (wife and I are also travel nurses) and lost you. Now I am subscribed!

Congratulations on becoming “Debt Free”!!! You have a freedom that most people do not understand.
Well done!!
Thank you Lori!! This means so much to us 🤗We are so happy for you that you are debt free as well!!!! Much love to you from the Hanks family ❤️
As a brand new person to the RV world this channel is helping me a lot with my worries. You two answer so many of my questions and you do it in a simple and straightforward way which I really appreciate.
So glad you find it helpful!
Debt Free is very commendable.

Absolutely Dave and Lorrie!! Thank you so much for your wonderful support as always ❤️We are so close indeed!!! We hope that our paths can cross soon :) Much love to you both
Actually this lifestyle is one of the best ways to become debt free...
Thank you so much for the feedback! Hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you so much Brad and Diana!! You guys nailed it! Much love to you both, stay safe :)
There is a definite advantage to owning a washer and dryer
But I can see how the sticker shock may turn some off but it nice to be able to wash clothes when ever you feel the need
That would be fun! Yes such great points! Thank you for sharing 😃
Yes Ray that is so true!
But I have my own business and work from my camper so no uniform to have to keep up with
Yes, we haven't worked as nurses in over a year. So our budget looked a whole lot different when we were working full time 🙂
Maybe someone else asked… what about health care costs / medical or dental insurance?
Aww this is so wonderful to hear Karen!!! Congrats to you both, you nailed it!! We hope to cross paths one day soon :)
If you're ever assigned different schedules for your nursing travels...ask the company to pay for your car rental. 😉
This is a great tip Brenda!! Thank you so much for sharing :) Cheers!!
Great job!
Thank you so much Vinny!! We really appreciate your wonderful support 🤗Cheers to you friend!

So appreciate this video! Makes me feel less nervous about getting on the road next year! Y'all are the best!
Glad you enjoy! Thanks for watching and the feedback 😃
Love everything in your comment! Thank you so much for sharing! A generator will probably be coming soon! Safe travels!

Thank you so much Erin!! That is so awesome, we are so excited for ya'll :) Cheers friends!
Great video! I love how you broke open the books and showed us everything! The laundry was a big shocker for me! We don’t have the washer dryer combo, and are only part-time, and I find doing all our laundry using several washers in the laundry mat very satisfying! So fast!
Yes that is so true! 2 weeks of laundry gets done in 1.5 hours!! Thanks for watching!
Stay safe x
Thank you for the feedback! We love that you have awesome goals! Don't give up! The freedom is right there! Best to you!
Did I miss the total expenses for a year?
Just curious cause my wife is worried how many years we can go on our retirement..thanks
Hey Dave! Did we forget to mention this? We spent a total of $22,007.48 🙂That is RV related expenses only!
@@HappilyEverHanks thank you so much
Thank you so much for the feedback! It was a tough subject but we are passionate about it! Have a great week!
Thank you for the GREAT information - I really appreciate the breakdown.
Thank you so much Jean!! We appreciate your wonderful support :)
Full time RV travel nursing here 👋🏻👋🏻 been on the road almost 2 years now! My wife is the nurse, I’m the RV dad! Our son is homeschooled. I can not wait to be debt free!!!! Big big goal...
Love it! Thanks for sharing guys! Best to you both with your journey!
so much excitement! love learning new things both about the Hanks and RVing
Thank you so much Heather!! 🤗 You absolutely ROCK!
@@HappilyEverHanks
We don't own an RV but are seriously considering getting one to get away from our cold winter weather.
@@HappilyEverHanks
The portable washer is pretty good also in that you can save water by washing perhaps some delicate things or whatever hardly gets dirty, then squeeze the water out of them, pop them in the spin side and wash your socks, or work shirts, etc. in the hardly dirty wash water.
@@HappilyEverHanks
What I should have said is saving water.

Stay safe

We are working towards being debt free, and also figuring out what avenues I could pursue with a Kinesiology degree to RV full-time
That is so great! Thanks for the feedback Josh!
I appreciate your candor and applaud your elimination of debt. We tackled debt later but discipline and the snowball method got us out and that made retirement so much easier.
For sure! Feels good to be free! Thank you for sharing and your feedback!
Great informative video. Every time my wife adds items to our trailer, she sees convenience i see all the hidden cost Like weight and fuel cost. Be industrious and frugal, and you will become rich. B Franklin.

I am very impressed you were able to keep up with those numbers for an entire year.
We love tracking everything! It makes us feel in control! Thanks for the feedback!
This is so wonderful to hear 😁🙌🏼 You certainly have seen a lot of places in your

You guys are awesome! Love your videos and how (no matter what), you are always positive. One additional thing on cost saving for the washer and dryer (that I always consider), is the added weight.. more gas $$. Take care!
Yes for sure Bob! We forgot to mention that! Big deal for us along with cost of washer/dryer! Thank you so much for your love and support!
That is awesome! We are going to try boondocking and really being off grid shortly! It will be a new world for us! Thanks for watching and sharing!
You guys are awesome! A lot of great information (and entertainment) in your videos. I bought my first camper back in July and I can’t wait to hit the road. Hopefully, one day, we can meet up and have a beer 🙃

We don’t have TT but heard it works for some!
been waitin all day
YAY!!! Thank you Heather!! :)
@@HappilyEverHanks hubby and I were on your channel earlier and he said "we are about due for another video" and I was like, "ding ding ding.. YES!! Today is Thursday, 7:15 pm CT.. LETS GOOO" hahah
LOL we ran into some technical difficulties this past Thursday...we were sweating bullets! Hopefully smooth sailing from here on out 🙂
thanks for your video ! this is exactly the video I was looking for. my wife and I were thinking about doing the same thing because she's going to be a traveling nurse and I'm going with her. this answered all my questions and now I know RVing won't work for us financially. I also applaud your way of thinking, we're also going to pay off all our debt and live our best life now and not wait til the "retirement age"... So thank you soooo much !!!
Love you two!😆 Thank you for sharing your experiences. Looking forward to traveling after nursing school 💜
Thank you so much! You will love the travel life!
The quality of these video productions for someone that is full time RVing is amazing. I like how most RVers possess the skills and ability to produce Hollywood quality videos on their UA-cam channel as they are scouring the Earth for the next place to park their travel trailer.
Thank you very much for your kindness and support 😊 Stay safe!!
What happened with the damage done to your rv when the tree fell on it?
We have updates on that coming up! Stay tuned!
Can't wait, so excited for you guys!! Thank you so much for the love and support!
Hey Bob!! Carl and Ney Ney here 🙂👋🏼How have you been? Are things going well on your side of the world? We are thinking about you and just wanted to reach out to say hi! Anyways, be well friend. We hope you are having a great week 😊Stay safe
You two are the best, love your videos.
Thank you so much Ron!
More solid level headed real world experiences shared with documentation!!! Very nice job!! Thanks 4 sharing we really enjoy your content and your down to earth and downright funny personalities!!!
Thank you so much Greg! We were nervous about talking about all this but everyone seems to appreciate it! Best to you!
Finally up! #Hanksrock
Thank you guys so much!! We are so happy ya'll are here :) Cheers friends!!
Love that you are rocking the RV life and enjoy being free! Thanks for the feedback! 😃
Whoop whoop its # Hanksthursday
Hey Mike! Thanks for stopping by!
So what was the grand total for the year, or did I miss it?
Thank you for the feedback! The total for each category is $22,007.48
@@HappilyEverHanks thank you, that’s awesome! Finally having somebody do this sort of thing was much needed. We really enjoy your channel, keep it up!
Carol/Coral/Kyle/Carl! Yes, the struggle is very real…🤨😃
Thank you so much 🤗 Love this!!
Happy to reimburse you with a super thanks for all your time and effort putting this together. Congratulations to you both!
Juan, thank you so much! We appreciate the feedback and support more than we can express!
Great job guys....
Thank you so much!
Thanks for your honesty. Wow! It says so much about you all and the ability to save and stay on task. LOVE IT!
Thank you so much for the support and feedback!
Wow!! Kyle "Carl" and Renae "Ney Ney" your story is amazing!! If I had to go into the er for something Kyle would have made me feel at ease. You too have just great bedside manners and a sense of humor to die for!! I have subscribed and watch you daily now!! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much Amy!! This is very kind of you to say 🤗 You totally just made our night! We hope to hear from you again soon!!
are you taking a year off right now??
Yes currently still off work from travel nursing!
@@HappilyEverHanks that's great!!! So happy to hear this. We will be doing both working and vacationing in our coach whenever we eventually get it lol feels like forever. Next week maybe🤞
You guys are knocking it out of the park! Great job!
Thank you so much! 😃
We love being debt free! Loved how you showed the changing in cost for RV parks as you learned as you go! Maya said to high paw Dexter for having financially responsible parents! Chasing RV Sunshine ☀️ Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya
Thanks guys! Will do! #debtfreeclub 😃
Loved this breakdown! We are getting ready to do the same thing and I’ll definitely be keeping track of expenses to compare
As Sea Shed said, the investment in a washer/dryer unit, in my opinion, is “paid off” more so in your time and ease of use, as opposed to strictly monetary cost to use ratio. I agree that it’s an individual choice based on what each person is willing to deal with when it comes to laundry.
We will be getting one. With a family of 6, I feel like the time and energy saved will be well worth it. 😄
That's a great point! Thanks for sharing on the matter! 😃
Yes Holly, for a family it makes so much sense!
Wow! Great bookkeeping and stats. We saved money by trading our cat in for a dog to save on cat litter. We used the savings to buy snow boots and a parka when the dog needs to go out in the winter snow.
That comment made us laugh! Thank you so much for the feedback and support!
Hey wait a minute wheres Adam lol welcome to Michigan hanks
Yes, where is Adam?? LOL

Good information for all full timers to know. You guys are fortunate (and smart) to be in the situation you are in right now. Keep going!
Thank you so much for this! 😊 we really try to maintain this lifestyle, we feel that being frugal has been the foundation piece to the puzzle
Best to you friend!
Love hearing this, John! You both sound like wonderful people. Ya'll are doing it the right way!! Thank you for your support in watching 😃
Wow, great story! So happy you are debt free. It is such a great feeling! See you on the road. #ThanksHanks
Thank you so much for the feedback! Safe travels!
This is so fantastic Susan!! Thank you so much for your wonderful support, we are happy for you guys!! :)
We are so happy to hear that you made it back! Love that ya'll are travel nurses 🙂 What specialty of nursing do you both work in? - Kyle
