I'm planning in this upgrade and while googling comparisons i didn't think I'd find someone testing my current Gcard, Mboard and CPU setup with my planned upgrade. Thanks
Just what I was looking for. I have been debating this upgrade for two months now. My system is almost identical to yours. Going out today and getting a Gigabyte 4700 Super Gaming OC. Thanks!
This was very helpful. I'll probably wait for the RTX5000 series, since I'm still on a 1080p display and I had no problems running anything at 60+fps with the RTX2070S. I'm planning to play Wukong, so I'll probably see then how the card is holding up.
DLSS is hot garbage though. Completely unuseable for high skilled PVP engagements and it somehow still robs frames when compared to minimum graphics + low TAA with 40%-50% sharpening, given the option.
Depending on the resolution if you want to still be near the 60 fps mark then just look at the 0.1% as the lowest drop off. At least that will reassure you that i can run at 60 at its worse depending on the resolution. But if you're like me and want to experience impressive looking games the way it should be experienced then upgrade. Also people really should be playing at 1440p at this point. It's really worth your time and it's effectively two monitors in one. You can downgrade to 1080p for whatever reasons. I went from a 2070 Super to 4080 for 1440p and it's been great. Btw you ran those benchmark at max. Realistically most people won't play at max but rather mix settings. Not having everything at max will give better fps. If you had a 14900k as an example you would gain more fps than want is shown in the video. But not by much. For the Cyberpunk 2077 portion you just dial the Ray tracing down to medium or low and it should give better frames. The thing with Ray tracing is that you'll mostly never really play with it at max even at 4k because it's just that demanding to use as a feature. I often try just Ray tracing alone with nothing else to help my frames and it just crushes your frames. The devs even auto enable dlss or some other settings in some games if you use Ray tracing to prevent you from doing the very thing i do lol. It might take like a 6090 ti super with GDDR69X memory or something absurd to attempt max Raytracing. Great video. Honestly i like this more realistic approach to upgrading a component because it's easy to replicate.
thanks for the more relatable video, im coming from a 2070 super strix card and was wondering what my performance would actually look like, thanks a bunch got a sub from me my guy!
I am currently using a 2070 super with an I5 9900k and really need to upgrade, but can only upgrade to the I9 9900k unless I upgrade my whole rig. Going to jump to the 4070 super and the I9 9900k. Still old gen but should still be a great upgrade from what I have.
I was thinking of doing this exact thing for an upgrade... But tbh im still rocking a ryzen 3600 so idk i probably need a whole upgrade at this point lmao
Cool video, I've got a i9 10900K and RTX2080ti. I wanted to get a newer RTX card perhaps this 4070S will be the one. Ain't gonna pay top money anymore for the latest and greatest. Already thought the 2080ti was overpriced coming for each year of Ti card every generation.
No, the 4070S PSU requirement is only 650w. I'm using an 850w. The point of the video was to show what an upgrade would be like if you only upgraded your gpu, not CPU.
my timespy benchmark with i99900k and 2070 super oc gp 32 gig ram 650w ps on a msi mpg z390m is 111000 lil over that number. i have my scores on the site and hwbots comp. pretty below average scores there......
oh my god your videos are hilarious. I'm really surprised at the high production value on the thoughtful content. Expecting your channel to blow up any time now!
i own 2070 super built original pc in 2020 then upgraded to a 4070 ti it was quite the upgrade haha then replaced everything else a couple months later cause i got a 144hz monitor and wanted to use it 😂
The reason new games perform so badly on older cards is largely because devs don’t optimise them for those cards. If you look at how they optimise them for PS5, which is older architecture, you know they can do it, but don’t.
Too expensive for most people. I'd rather get the RTX 2070 Super as I don't play for best graphics, I look for best performance in a game. I'm a family man with 2 kids so I have a budget like most people should. I'd also rather eat too vs choosing between eating better food or a better graphics card. You guys do you and I'll do me. No hate.
Great video. Exactly what I was looking for! I have a prebuilt gaming PC I bought in 2020. IBUYPOWER from Best buy. (Stupid name but it runs great!) Intel i9 10900, 2070 super, 32gb PC3200 RAM. 1tb SSD. My biggest concern is my PSU. I have no idea how many watts it's rated at. It may be at the limit, who knows. Anyway, I don't want to throw a power hungry card in the mix and have problems. Now I'm reading that the 4070S only consumes 220 watts and the 2070s takes 215 watts. PERFECT! SOLD! Seems I can slip this card in and get double the performance and not have to buy and install another PSU. Now if the price would just come down a bit.
Well I went and bought a Galax 4070 super anyway. Was going to wait till this fall but can't leave well enough alone. Also saw a great price on Prime Day for a Corsair 850w gold+ PSU and couldn't pass it up. Will install the card as is and see if I have any PSU problems.

I'm still looking out for the "NVIDIA 4070 TI SUPER ULTRA MEGA MILF HUNTER" hahahaha

2070 Super still gets 1440p 120FPS in new games like Tekken 8, and comfortably 1440p 80fps in games without DLSS like Helldivers 2.
Who tf plays tekken 😂😂😂😂
@@nismo927 a lot of people but i don't even see why that matters
That is absolutely not my experience. Especially with helldivers

@@CoyoteFeral True, but high skill pvp games died with RTS along with anybody who actually knows how to optimize games.
Thanks man looking at doing the same thing on a bit of a budget
You’re the one that made me switch over from a 2070 to 4070 super
Have you seen a big improvement in performance?
Thanks! This was just what I was looking for. My cat approves also. I have a very similar old system.

Mine sweeper with a 4070 super is really pushing it, better off just splurging for a 4090 or 7900xtx

Just upgrade to a R7 5700x3d. That way you can keep your board and ram. That would pair nice with a 4070super.

If you don’t play higher than 1440p then I would save the money and go with a 4070S
Same I’m running a 2060S on a 9700K, I was thinking about upgrading to a 4070S or a 4070Ti
how much fps dou get in competitive games like cs2 etc @limuel4411
Which power cable did you use to go from the 2070 super 8+6 pin to the new 12pin?
Great video!
Thanks, appreciate it!
I upgraded to the 4070s and a 1440p monitor from 2070s and a 1080p monitor about 2 weeks ago and have 0 complaints. Everything is much better.
Great video🤘🏻
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I’m about to do the same thing with an intel 9700k cpu so I can play the new nba and DBZ?
Yeah that should be able to run those games pretty good.
Watching this to see what sort of performance i should expect from the Rtx 5070.
Great look at what its like for the 2070s, shame it wasn't 16gb vram. But going to push the bottom on the 4070s, even with the 50xx on the way.

Yeah the 4070super is kinda the sweet spot for price and performance right now. Any GPU more than 600bucks is overpriced in my opinion.
Will a i9-9900k and the 4070 super work well? Also, will the 2070 super swap just fine with the 4070 super?
Doesn’t you have to upgrade the PSU also? Why not upgrade the cpu also? And what cou would would great with the new gpu without a lot of bottleneck?

im gonna rock the 2070 super until i can get a 4070 super for 200.00 used in about 5 or 6 years. i play at 1080p so no hurry.
So a ryzen 5 5600x would be a good combo with a 4070 super?
I would say so, if you already have the 5600x. Don't go any higher end than that though
2070 was one of the best time proof GPU. I still have it. Wondeing in 4070 will be the same after 4 yrs...
