No foreigner should be allowed to either vote or run for political office in Ireland, its scandalous that this is happening. This is the beginning of how we lose control of our own country.
Multiculturalism means a dilution of Irish culture. Diversity in politics means less representation of Irish people.

What's your definition of a foreigner? Like the 270,000 UK citizens living here that can vote. Lots of "foreigners" have been elected since the foundation of the state.

@@paulneville7154 There are reciprocal agreements on residence, travel, and voting between Ireland and the UK. Thats a completely different situation, which I am sure you are well aware of.
Do you think it appropriate that an African or Arab economic migrant with no English language skills, with no knowledge of our nation or culture, can arrive and after a short time be allowed to vote and shape the path of our nation?
Do you think it beneficial for Irish people that non-citizens can run as candidates in elections?
