I can totally understand why this caused a lot of arguments, haha. Imagine being overweight when you get your suit, then losing weight, then replacing the extra space in your suit with stuffing so it still fits you/the character, and then being told you’re wrong for that. It can be so circumstantial, and I get really disappointed when stuff like this pops up.
@Connor Perkins I’m sorry about that ;( but don’t let that get to you, Twitter is full of toxic people, and it seems to make anyone else who goes there toxic as well
Bruh, your fursona can literally be a any gender, sexuality, or species you want. I really don't see why a average-bodied person can't have a fat fursona.

I'm not a furry, but i can say something: the guy who made this drawing its totally crazy. Choosing your fursuit, in my totally out of the community view, is not so different from creating a avatar in a game. No one says that your avatar has to be exactly like your real self, so why the fursuits had to be? The position of the guy is simply stupid.
I do agree with this point. It's your avatar, make it his you please with pieces of yourself. Not your whole self at once if you please. Hell if you want it to have a similar body type to you or the type you want do it
Yeah! like, if you have a chubbier character but you’re not chubby yourself, that’s totally fine. I myself have a chubby character who I adore because they represented me once. :D
Ya thier crazy. In school my room mate was an borny so had some insite before I became an furry. He was relay the only one out side of my family that treated me as me.
Considering how much we pay for our wearable carpets, they can look however we want. I'm waiting for the fursuit smell controversy/ musky husky discrimination haha
Already exists. I’ve heard many furries go “take a shower, that’s disgusting!” But like people swear in fursuits so it’s only natural they’ll smell a little
Coming from a fursuit maker, I personally believe they should be kept clean. Not just for societal expectations and such, but also because it can stain the suit and make the fur get matted, thus ruining the quality of the suit itself. A similar thing happens in ALL conventions where some (not all, just a few) people don't shower or take care of themselves hygienically. I get how these things can be really hard, especially if you suffer with mental health issues (I totally get that because I also struggle) but it's general courtesy to those around you to wear deodorant and clean your clothes/cosplays/fursuits, even if it's solely for the convention. If it's for sexual purposes, like a musk or sweat kink, it's not as a means to discriminate your preference or desires. Some things like that just need to be kept in private or with your partner because a lot of children go to these conventions, and a lot of furries are very hands-on and enjoy hugging, play fighting, etc, and kids will especially be interacting with these suits. It's especially dangerous since the young fur population is HUGE and it's still growing, and I'm already seeing far too many young furs being exposed to these kinds of things. Basically, people asking you to clean your suit aren't trying to degrade you in terms of sexual preference or mental health, but it's more of just a courtesy and basic politeness for those around you and who are attending the convention.
@@LoveStruckLoner that wasn’t my point ^^’ I was talking about people who do shower and take care of their suits and wear deodorant and such. A lot of people will tell them to go take a shower when they did, it’s just that they’re wearing a thick suit with foam that acts as an insulator and thick fur and you’re bound to sweat and gain some kind of stink. I wasn’t talking about people who don’t care for themselves or their suits at all ^^’ Just saying that Musky Husky is a thing that people actively attack people for but like you’ll always sweat in suit no matter how much protection you were or under armor you have, and if you don’t sweat in suit then you’re dehydrated and seriously need to get water fast or be at risk to pass out. And sometimes people (myself included) could take care of themselves and their suit and be the best at hygiene but have a stronger scent than others that a lot of products don’t work for. There’s even some people with an odor related to a medical problem that won’t go away with any product. My comment on Musky Husky scent was not talking about those that don’t shower or wash/brush their suit, but specifically towards people who do but they naturally sweat and it makes the suit stink sometimes which causes people to be hurtful towards the one that has a bit of an odor.
@@Bownimations01 Do people really complain about the slightly sweaty people though? While yes, some people overreact, there is one thing when you have some person having sweated alot because they basically wear a polar suit inside a hotel space, but then you have the people who thinks actually not showering for 3 weeks is okay, because "Animals don't do it". Your otherkin spirit or so doesn't affect how your human biology causes bacteria to grow in your old sweat, and these borderline mentally ill people need to be told so.
@@Akrilloth That was my point, there are people who freak out over someone who stinks a little bit or have medical conditions, which affects the persons self esteem. I was talking about discrimination towards those who stink for other reasons not the ones that don’t care about their hygiene or suit
Not according to the Twits of Twitter. Everything must be an autobiography or its an istaphobic attack on some tiny group. Twitter says "Stay in Your Own Lane"
Except when it comes to race swapping White and Asian characters and fattening them up. Cuz screw anyone with a lighter skin tone and anyone under 120 lbs. That is the Twitter Way.
Honestly, as a fat person, I think it's great that people want to represent body types outside of their own!! I see padding suits to have a tummy as really cute, and its nice to have other suits that have a similar body type as you!! It's like the way that people put muscle padding on their suits! it's just something to enjoy and celebrate that we all have different bodies, and can appreciate different bodies!!!
As a big endomorphic person who’s not white, I tend to be more on guard towards such matters because I’ve seen appropriation before of many things, and don’t particularly wish to see it start being about body types as well. Essentially, I don’t mind people doing things with muscle padding, as being a person with high muscle mass who’s been bodybuilding as a hobby for many years, I can understand that, but when it ventures into body types, then there’s the aspect of mockery when it comes to exaggerated features. Essentially, I just wish for people to not take things to a level of ectomorph pretending to be a heavily built endomorph, because that just seems like a deliberate mocking of people with bigger bodies. Like it’s something they can just “take off”. Like saying “just lose weight.” Essentially, I just wish for people to be conscious of the gravitas of some things, and not throw around matters like build as if it’s just some thing, because I had YEARS of self consciousness growing up thinking I was a fat kid, because I didn’t yet know what body types were, and that really wasn’t pleasant. It’s like someone without PTSD playing a person who has it; they don’t know the pain, the suffering, the hell it can be, so they have no right to act like they do.
"You can't be a human wearing a bear fursuit, you got to be a bear to wear a bear fursuit" ^Saying your body type must match your character, makes about as much sense as this^
If only big people can have big characters then everyone with buff ripped bois better be buff ripped bois under there or imma riot lol Also what about certain fursuit styles? Some styles of fursuits have large body types completely because of certain styles or kinks. Like inflation, belly, plush suits and more. That would be cutting off people in those respective niches, of which if you are not a part of then you shouldn't dictate them because they are a mix of large, tall, slim and small people who seem to coexist already in those communities. If someone wants to be a body type or just simply like a body type that isnt wrong. It can be hard for some of us to portray a character perfectly like some others and some people can pull little tricks and tips to help them portray a character even more. That doesn't mean they're wrong for doing so. I'm underweight and I have a few characters, one of which is a heavy boi. My older brother is overweight and has a few characters, one of which is a slim boi. Neither one of us has criticized eachother for liking these characters. Honestly he and I worked pretty hard to lose and gain weight together being we are both on the extreme sides of the body spectrum. You can enjoy whatever you want as long as you aren't using it to be derogatory towards someone else.
This this this!!!!! Also some species are generally more round than others? Like a skinny bear fursona wouldn’t really look right since bears are usually on the meatier side, either by being chubby or more muscular, not that it can’t be done but if you’re someone who likes more realistic proportions/look to your fursuit some padding is obviously gonna be needed!
welp, guess i cant have my two male sonas anymore **throws art of them into the trash** and that non-binary one too, guess im not allowed to have them either **rips their art to shreds** 🤷♀️🤷♀️
"Hey, you dress like a cartoon animal but don't pad the costume to look like a different body type, that would be just unrealistic!" Brilliant logic...
I have a skinny friend who has ...... Over weight and or extremely tall fursonas because they personally can't gain weight and wishes he was "Fat". Some people who make such characters may have the same lack of body positively for they're real body. That being said I personally have a mix of Skinny and Fat fursona's and OC's they all have story and reason behind it, this also could be the case for others. Or you know... Some people just might think it looks nice and for no other reason. 🤗 any way it is, its no reason to hate. I love your out look on this. This is honestly my first video I've seen of you, and you my fellow fur, has gained a sub. ❤️
@@Ice4ever_67 Depends on where you live, here in Africa, most people prefer slimmer and fitter body types. Especially since a good amount of people have Anubite fursonas i.e. human body with animal head. Your 'fursuit' will mostly cover your head, sometimes shins and forearms too, so having abs to show off is a bonus but isn't necessary. We don't shame people here, it's against the culture. My 'sona is a zebra Anubite and, being a hairy white guy, means I don't have to do much to cosplay as a zebra, since my skin is already pale while my hair is very dark brown, almost black, so I'm halfway to looking like a zebra!

Your fursona or sona can be what ever you want as it’s a reflection of both you irl or what you want to be like. People can also cosplay as what they want as it’s literally dressing up as a fictional character that doesn’t exist in real life, and cosplay is entirely for fun and to let your creativity shine.
What a weird and silly controversy, though I'd expect nothing less of Twitter. The whole body positivity thing has always irked me somewhat because I've noticed how prevalent it is to encourage people who are unhealthy that "they're fine the way they are." Yeah people are free to do what they want with their bodies, but people shouldn't be advertising their unhealthy lifestyles as healthy. Anyways, I think people of any body type can make their sona or OC any body type they want to. It's silly to try and gatekeep people from making certain kinds of characters.
@@Its_Asteria Funny how a movement that was formerly about embracing and accepting people with aspects about themselves they couldn't control is now about embracing and accepting people with aspects about themselves that they could control and are actually hazardous in most cases.
I can see two sides. For one thing, most of the body positivity movement is about not equating how you look, with your health. I won't get into detail as I don't want to trigger people, but regardless of size or shape people can be healthy, or unhealthy, as he said, as long as it's not extreme. And with fursonas as fursuits, you can always add padding, but you can't take away. Shapewear does exist, but would not be ideal in a fursuit due to extra heat. So I can see wanting to sort of level the playing field, but I see plush suits and I think of cosplaying as a teddy bear, not wanting to be a different size. Most fursuits already have thigh padding, I think of my Lucario suit I'm making, and that's nowhere near my body shape, but it's playing a character. And some people have characters that are a lot like them in terms of body, scars, disability etc, but it can be fun to play around, especially with cartoony proportions.
@@jlbeeen I agree with you, but in my experience when people share these body positivity things on the internet they are close to extreme cases, if not just plane unhealthy. Yet they may appear perfectly fine physically. The problem is internally and in the long run. A little chub or being a bit underweight doesn't really hurt tho (speaking from experience since I am slightly underweight myself), like you said and that is what people should advertise instead of the frequent 5"2' 210lbs girls on instagram.
I'm 4'11" and my Fursona is 6'10". What do you think? It would be nice if I could do stilts eventually and try to make a taller suit for myself. Even if it's not that tall, it would be cool to be taller as my Fursona.
You know, Disney Pixar basically responded to the argument with the whole “Turning Red” teaser lol, I’m not trying to be serious, no one should be shamed of what they choose to do with their body. I’m obese, ngl, and my character is f*cling fit

@Jelly Paws Thanks T_T You made my depression Abit better My life is always Full of bad times Like I got sick due to be binging ice Candy's Depression sucks
Side Note: THANK YOU thank you for addressing how quite a few furry creators push adult-ish content out there a lot, while I am not a younger fur, I can understand that it can be uncomfortable for young furs. I, myself am very innocent and prefer to stay that way. So, I'm very glad you are a mostly non-adult channel
I used to weigh somewhere around 300, at my heaviest, I have lost over 100 hundred pounds in a matter of 5 years because at one point I started binge eating again, well moving on, I "trimmed" my fursuit, I didn't want to completley remake it, I trimmed off the excess pieces of fur, and trimmed the stuffing by ripping open the legs.
Personally I despise that art. I am a very small skinny person. And my suit that I am working on is a chunky kaiju. So this artist is saying just because I am my body. So does that mean I can't be my character because I'm 5'2 and my character is 376 feet? It is a horrible mindset to basically shame anyone for their body whether their skinny or bigger.
They say you can't dress as characters with a body type different than you, because it's inaccurate to the wearer? Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no fur suit is accurate to the human wearer...
while most of the time, fursonas or characters represent the wearer, but this is just simply not always the case. Sometimes fursuits are simply meant to be OCs who have totally different traits and personalities than the wearer, and that means they could be very physically different than the creator of the character. anyone can cosplay anyone.
exactly, what people sell as "body positivity" is just enabling laziness and gluttony, true body positivity is treating the body well, and not laughing at someone who's at a healthy weight but has a different body structure that doesn't allow for the hour glass body shape, but rather accepting all healthy body types, be it the hourglass, the apple, or the pear or the tube/stick body shape, these are perfectly healthy body structures, just some aren't as attractive as others, and honestly, there will be jerks who will make a huge deal out of how someone looks when it isn't that huge of a deal, but generally, those should just be ignored and/or dealt with appropriately with whatever means that works for the situation. But, for TRUE body positivity to work, we must stop this hyperfixation of being fat and lazy and touting it as healthy when it is not, and start focusing on accepting other body structures that isn't the stereotypical barbie doll body shape as well as accepting those who happen to be blessed with such a body.
I think something people seem to forget about body times and shaming is that, sometimes the person can’t help it due to issues, medical or otherwise outside of their control. Besides the obvious things most people know about like food addiction, severe OCDs, being physically sick everytime you eat, stress levels, there’s also things like financial issues, physical disabilities, medication, the country your from, social pressures and metabolism that can really make putting on or losing weight incredibly difficult. People online seem to have the same answer to both extremes, “just eat less food and stop being lazy” or “just eat more food” but it isn’t always that simple, odds are if it was things like obesity probably wouldn’t be as common as it is. Take it from someone that’s 18 stone with a spinal injury, this stuff isn’t always easy
Feels strange to want to speak after this video been out for years, but I agree with everything you said, including how people judge and counter judge too quickly/easily. I've been a victim of it in varying degrees to breaking points at times where I may have even overstepped back, but all because I thought differently. I have been banned for even daring to have thoughts.
I totally agree. Your fursona may have a body type different from yours irl. People can cosplay/suit whatever they want. I'm 240 lbs. People can stuff their suit if they want to do so for a costume.
I can kinda see where the artist was coming from a bit. It is true that your physical health and the appearance of said health can be a factor and will be a factor. This isn't about pretending to be a character. I am talking about jobs, relationships, activities and medical problems. I am all for people being happy with themselves, I really am. But once those people push the Body Positivity bullshit and try to convince and control others with words and phrases that go against improving on said body, that is when I have issues. People have done that with me, calling me; cute, sexy, f***able and all other compliments when I was at my lowest and I fell for it. Not knowing how heavy and, yes, hideous I was becoming. Back in October of last year, I started my Keto diet and lost approximately 50 pounds. I have never felt better in my life and I am still going! And do you know what started it? People saying I was fine and super cute, yet couldn't securely fasten my restraints on roller coasters, leading to uncomfortable rides or in one case, break one down. Yes, if you are not secured properly, guests will be let off and the ride will close down to see what the problem was. Yes, they could have escorted me and yes, it could have been something else. But my seat wasn't secured properly, which could have been the problem. So please, if you see your friends and you fear for their health, skinny or fat, please let them know that you worry. A small diet here and there to balance out your weight isn't bad. And the people fortifying the bad side of Body Positivity need to be called out. Sorry for this stupid post, but I wanted to get this off my chest. Remember, the more extreme on both spectrums you are, it will affect you in your everyday life. That is life. I have faced that and one day, it will catch up to you.
Tbh ppl misunderstand what the body positivity is saying, it seems including you as well. Body positivity is simply saying to not assume, judge or bully someone for their body, weather they were bigger, smaller, an amputee, in a wheelchair, or teeth that aren't straight. Because you really just don't know why that person is like that, including overweight people. There's medications that can make you gain weight such as cancer meds and anti-depresants, it can also simply just be how your body works like with low metabolisms, or maybe you're suffering mentally and that affects daily life. But in the coming years some people have used it as a way to be obese and not work on themselves, tbh tho I don't rlly see it as much as ppl try and make it out to be, it's more of ppl saying "being 10lb overweight isn't that big of an issue, stop bullying ppl" or "hey can you not insult this person and ruin their mental health? That won't help". It's just about respecting and helping people, it isn't trying to normalize unhealthy behavior, but sadly some ppl do do that and shouldn't.
@@vixymix101 thank you because their comment is brain dead as fuck. My partner is fat because he’s disabled and has a shit ton of medical issues and can’t exercise. We also both have eating disorders and hardly eat yet we’re not losing weight. I briefly gained a lot of weight because of my antipsychotic. So many things can cause someone to be fat, but that’s between the person and their doctor, not strangers with an opinion. You’re not their doctor, keep it to yourself. All body positivity is about is that people of all sizes deserve respect. Sure it may cause some health issues for some people, but you wouldn’t bully a person with other health issues like cancer?? Also you CAN be fat and healthy. Some of my fat friends are some of the healthiest people I know, they exercise, eat good, and doctors say they’re perfectly healthy. Their old family members were the same way their whole life (genetics can cause people to struggle to lose weight too) and lived their whole life free of health issues. These people also take a few extreme examples from the body positivity movement and think it represents everyone in the movement. of course you’re always hearing about the extremists, because people see them saying those things and everyone freaks out and it gets shared everywhere every time so of course it looks like it’s the whole community because people only ever see the .1% of extremists and not the 99.9% of the normal side. They’re getting angry over nothing yet these are the people claiming everyone’s always so triggered and offended…
Honestly the most shocking part about all this is that it happened _within_ the furry community. Someone doesn't need to physically be a fox to have a fox fursona, that's just ridiculous, and I don't see why this is any different! This is a very well written video, thank you for making it!
I'm a semi large man myself, and i say this: it's your character. IF ya want a gut, pad away! Just dont advertise it's the real deal if it isnt. But it's not my place to say ya should or shouldnt. Do you as long as it doesnt cause pain to others (mental anguish over puritanical ideals does not count)
I'm fat lmao. If someone feels more comfortable suiting in a suit that is made to look fat, good for them! Wear what you want! If i were to suit, I'd like to be able to wear a skinnier suit, but uhh, that's not how bodies work lmao. This isn't like skinny people buying out all the nice xl+ clothes in thrift shops to make scrap material. This is people doing commissions for paying customers that define their own materials and sizes. They're not taking anything away from fat people by buying a bigger suit than what they need to fill it out with their own body.
I have definitely struggled a lot with body image and I think I am slowly starting to starve myself. And I remember I did starve myself before but that was by proxy from my grandmother. And now I feel overweight. I was 80 pounds then and I’m 180 pounds now. And I feel awful about it but I look at myself sometimes and think I look good, but I think maybe if I were 80 pounds less, I’d be even prettier. I am healthy but I just don’t see myself as healthy because I’m not like 100-120 pounds. So yeah, I’m a furry who is struggling with body issues this post didn’t make me feel that good. Because I don’t want to be obese
I have a corgi character who gets thiccer as he goes down the body (think of winny the pooh) Nobodys body naturally goes in that shape... Imma need the padding xD
Just seeing the image my initial thought is the padding is actually dangerous. One of my suits requires padding in the belly. Its hot. And it can restrict movement. It can be dangerous for first time suiters to get a full body suit with big padding. I initially took it as form fitting suits are better than ones with large padding.
The one thing furry artists do that's controversial is not knowing the anatomy of certain animals before making them anthro. (Ffs, rabbits don't have pawpads and skunks don't have 4 digits (fingers/toes), they have 5.) And I can already see the "Yeah, but those animals don't stand on 2 legs either" BS coming up.
@@mochidog It is in the context of how the artist wanted things done. They want realistic body types to be portrayed by only those specific people. Then I demand everyone to portray realistic animal body proportions properly. Only men can portray males and only women can portray females. Oh what's that? You're gay but you made a straight character? Nope, sorry that's not realistic can't do that. You're asexual but have a kinky character? Nope can't do that. It's just too subjective to put people into those boxes for the sake of that's how it "realistically" should be. People can like fantasy or realism and people can like thin or thick.
@@drunkenskunkproductionsdsp8094 That's fair. If you're commissioning a work of your character and the artist draws your design incorrectly, I can see how that would be frustrating. But like, if someone is just out there designing their own characters the "incorrect" way it probably isn't a huge deal, you know?
@@whoahanant I was replying to this person talking about furry designs with accurate anatomy, wasn't questioning the videos subject matter lol. As far as that's concerned though, anyone can design whatever they want, no matter who they are
As a chubby person myself, I do have to admit if someone has a super like, "plump" fursuit thats clearly fetishizing, makes me uncomfortable. Being it feels like my weight is being fetishized in a really weird way and idk, just, makes me mmm uncomfortable. But I won't stop people, id just kinda avoid it
Exactly. The insinuation is like they’re saying that body mass is just something we can toss off like a jacket at the drop of a hat, something perpetuated by western society for decades. It smacks of appropriation.
All i have to say is: THANK. YOU. Thank you for being a sensible human being XD Also thank you. Im thick but i wanna cosplay some skinny female characters so bad but i felt i didnt look good enough to do it but now i feel more confident
Honestly, it’s like that thing on the American version of the office, “Michael Klump”, the character Micheal in the show does at parts; it’s a mockery of people with larger build that blows things out of proportion to a point where it’s like; are you saying morbid obesity is bad, (yes it is) or straight up mocking anyone with an endomorphic body type for being unable to change the fact that they naturally have more fat on their body than you? And further playing into the danger zone of insinuating things like that people can “just lose weight”, or the like. Appropriation is a dangerous game, I’m saying, and people should be aware of the kinds of messages they insinuate in some actions, because neurotypicals of a white, scrawny disposition especially are often blissfully unaware of the gravitas of certain appropriations. TLDR; one must be aware of which way one punches, up or down, and what one may insinuate in being an upper pretending to be a down. I say this as a not white endomorph who struggled with self consciousness about my build for YEARS growing up. I merely wish not for people to act like build or privilege is just something one can just throw off or acquire at the drop of a hat. And lastly, “thin shaming” in my experience smacks of white people or straight people complaining that they’re the ones who are burdened; vicitmisation. The oppressor playing the victim. Just my experience, but know what one insinuates in one’s words, and how that can invalidate others, in the same way a neurotypical saying “eVerYoNe iS a bIT aUtiStIc” is a vile and scummy thing that invalidates the struggles of autists. TLDR; unless you’re of a certain demographic, you don’t get to make the judgement call on what others can appropriate from that demographic.
I guess we gotta cancel actors who use cosmetics to appear bigger. Oh and let’s get rid of stilts for shorter people 🚶♂️🦽 there shouldn’t be limits to costumes (unless you’re blackfacing or taping face to appear more Asian) you take your own spin on it- the reason why that is wrong: is self explanatory- but every race can be bigger, or be thinner. You cannot change your race.

WOW! If this is a Drama, then not only i'm ashamed again to be a Fury but also, this is the biggest problem for furries?? You must have a perfect life!
I may be wrong- but i know there has been discourse about certain fursuit makers /refusing/ larger clients based on their size. The idea is of the community glorifying skinny people in padded up suits vs mistreating actually fat people
I'm kind of hurt by some other people's comments, people need to stop saying "blah blah blah fat or normal blah blah blah blah" I'm a bit overwhieght, I don't have diabetes, I'm not fricken obese, I consider myself normal like everyone else, and even if I was I would still consider myself normal, I also don't like the term "fat", it's a shameful word and I prefer the term "big" or "chubby". Fat is used as a offensive and or mean statement
No, if your a bit overweight, like 20lbs, your "overweight" and people shouldn't be out-right "fat-shaming" you. But if your that upset because people use the word fat to describe those overweight in general, then the problem isn't others. It's snowflake mentality we are all sick of, even the furry fandom.
They should be allowed to have that opinion. But it's Twitter, so of course not. That's a pretty tame opinion to have, I think. As far as I know, ObeseToBeast isn't a fursuiter, but I think you and him would have an interesting conversation to have about the body positivity movement. You're absolutely right that there's a lot of body-shaming in the body positivity movement; hell, one of the things I've noticed is if you're overweight and lose the weight, there are certain people in the body positivity movement who get upset about that feel as though they're entitled to your body and will shame you for losing weight to improve your health. You don't even have to have been involved with the body positivity movement for them to get mad at you, and I think that shows they really don't care about the activism they claim to stand for. as someone who has been a big person all my life and struggles to lose weight, it's kinda disappointing seeing a big suit and expecting someone to look just like you to climb out of it only for it to be stuffing but i don't get pressed about it. i think it's only an issue when it's fetishized. if someone has a suit that makes them look bigger purely because they get off on it then i think its a problem. you can have preferences for body types but as soon as you fetishize them then it's a problem
The only problem I see with getting a fat fursona/fursuit without being fat in real life is the reasoning a person might have behind it. More often than not, people just want a fat fursona because they have this glorified idea of fat people in their head, which isn't always true. Other than that, I don't care. People can do what they want if it's their own character.
"If you wanna be a skeleton and die of heart failier thats also fine" Me who is underweight and keeps getting anxiety attacks thinking im gonna die from some form of heart problem but my mum wont take me to the doctors or hospital to check it out and ive gotten pretty sick recently: HAHA IM GONNA DIE... help...
Oh he said "if you Want is fine" but in your case is clear you don't so is not meant for you to be fine with it. Understandeable that you are having it bad and sadly there is no easy solution for it :'( just keep being safe, remember you Matter, don't force yourself, some walking (maybe an indoor activity like jumping rope or.. just dance xD) helps to have a lil relief and feel hunger to eat. But im just a person on the internet, only your family and doctors know how to handle it, keep going you Can do it :'3 you will be healthy
I'm considering that I should get my own fursuit just like Greeny Woof because I have a pot belly irl. The fursuit will have some exaggeration on the belly part. At least the original artist "❤️" my tweet and accepted the someone else's "fixed" version.
I hate how they say the fat is goid and the stuffing is bad. There both good its a PLUSH suit plush suits are thick (good and cute way) a person can be over weight or not over weight to be in a plush fursuit. This is stupid to argue about. This is not a good thing to argue about.
I mean, I can get why someone might not like fat fursuits on skinny people, it can bring to mind images of fatsuits, which have been used to shame and mock us for decades. However, fat fursuits usually celebrate diverse bodytypes, so I am all for it.
As a furry who has a heavier-set character, and wants to get a fursuit of them, my two biggest fears for doing it are 1, people like the one discussed in this video thinking I'm a bad person for wearing a padded suit and 2, people "fetishizing" the character because they are heavier-set (I'm sorry I don't know the actual word to use there), or assuming that my reasoning for making them that build is the result of a fetish. It sucks because, I really love my character and I am an avid advocate for body positivity (hence why my character is the size they are, as I try to diversify the range of body types among my characters), but as long as there are people who believe stuff like this, I'll never feel truly comfortable either fursuiting as this character, posting art of them, or even discussing them [especially on Twitter], because of the backlash or creepy comments that may come as a result.
I'm techincally considered obese (I'm not that big and my doctors have never had any concerns with my weight but BMI is a bitch) I'm working very hard to not be obese anymore. I literally do not care what body type you make your character or suit. Just don't objectify real fat people, and it's all gucci. This shouldn't be a controversy.
I feel like you should be allowed to make your own decisions in life about your own body and how you want to mold it. You should be aware of the health consequences, but it is ultimately your decisions and your life. I don't think anyone should be forced to have a fursona that is just like them, because it's a fantasy, you're roleplaying a character. If I want to have a chubby fursuit, I'm allowed to have one regardless of my own body, and regardless of body standards. It's a work of fiction, and I'm allowed to make my own artistic decisions. If it is someone's kink, that's totally fine, you're allowed to have whatever kink you want.
Everyone is beautiful no matter their body type♥️ we shouldn't judge others for being a little thin or a little chonky, everyone is amazing and unique and beautiful♥️
Uhm, there’s a lot of bad-faith and fatphobic stuff in this comment section, but you seem to almost understand body positivity, so i wanted to respond. What you said isn’t true. There’s a lot of different body goals that people can have. There’s simply no moral component to it. I think all bodies are beautiful.
i feel you should have not said so much about body shape. cause it was sorta negative when describing ppls bodies shape . like if you wanna look like a skeleton die of heart failure?or exercise till you heart explodes? if you over weight have a heart attack? mate you might need to look at you own vocab. you could have said weather you are fat skin or buff it doesn't matter. cause im skinny and being called a skeleton because i am isn't kool. i have no choice as I'm sure many other ppl don't have As well. hyperthyroid or hypothyroid can make you skinny and the other fat.it is possible to die from either one. i know im being dumb ... this is just my opinion.
Too anyone out there who the post/image has affected, you don't have to listen to other people's opinion. Stuffing your fursuit isn't harming anyone, and if it makes you happy, go for it. And as a fat/chubby person, 30-40lbs over my recommend bmi, I feel like people take things to the extreme when things are rarely black and white. Obviously being way over weight or way under weight isn't healthy. It's kind of disgusting behavior for people to treat people differently on solely appearances alone. Too much or too little of anything is bad, but being an ahole isn't going to fix anything on a large scale. It doesn't come across as genuine concern and can even push people over the edge. Bums me out that people are dwelling on things so much, especially online, that the focus and reality of things get lost. The best you can do from my experience, is to do the things that make you happy. Design your suit anyway you want, if it's not promoting anything that can hurt anyone, it's not an issue and people can learn to mind their own business.
Bruh, you said you didn't wanna talk about body stuff but then you proceed to throw shade at people who weigh under the average amount and people who have more muscle mass.
Then there's people like me. I weigh 87 pounds last I checked. I want to gain more weight. I need to. But the highest I've been was 98. I've never been 100 pounds or over and I can't help it. I eat so much and I get shamed at school for being so underweight. And then there's my best friend who gets shamed bc she's a little on the bigger side. She's starting to eat less and less bc of it. She ain't even an unhealthy weight. Sometimes I wonder. What even is beauty standards?
I do think there's a conversation to be had about thin ppl dressing up to look fat, i think that can be insensitive. however, with a fursuit, you're not dressing up as a bigger person, you're dressing up as an anthro animal who already isn't going to have the same body type as you, no matter the character's size, so i don't see a problem with extra padding to create a different body type than the suiter's
I think it's completely fine to cosplay characters with a different body type than your own. Same with gender. And you can choose to go with the traits of the character or yourself, either is fine. Although when cosplaying a character of another race, you have to be more careful since you have to avoid doing anything that could look like blackface etc.
Thank you Majira

I agree with you! As you said It really isn't any different than people getting digi grade suits with leg or muscle padding xD
Like saying “just lose weight.”
Essentially, I just wish for people to be conscious of the gravitas of some things, and not throw around matters like build as if it’s just some thing, because I had YEARS of self consciousness growing up thinking I was a fat kid, because I didn’t yet know what body types were, and that really wasn’t pleasant. It’s like someone without PTSD playing a person who has it; they don’t know the pain, the suffering, the hell it can be, so they have no right to act like they do.
"You can't be a human wearing a bear fursuit, you got to be a bear to wear a bear fursuit"

The image in the thumbnail is like telling someone their suit cannot have digi legs unless the suiter themself has digi legs...
or a suit can't half hooves unless the suiter themselves has hooves.
If only big people can have big characters then everyone with buff ripped bois better be buff ripped bois under there or imma riot lol
Also what about certain fursuit styles?
Yes 👏 preach!
Also means trans people (like me) cannot make their sonas as their desired gender

When you are furry artist but not actually a furry , and tne drama happens again : *Alright, I'm head out.*
That's what a furry means-
How is one a furry artist but now a furry- unless it’s like commissions of course
Not to mention the body positivity movement used to be about awareness for people with scars, missing limbs, deformations, etc. And it was hijacked

Yeah for most people a fursona is to have an ideal version of themselves. If someone’s ideal character is bigger then so be it visa versa
Lol and my sona is a mouse and I'm like 5'11.

They say you can't dress as characters with a body type different than you, because it's inaccurate to the wearer?
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no fur suit is accurate to the human wearer...
Reminds me a lot of classmates I had that once they found out that you didn't care about what they did they wound hit you with bass ball bats.
while most of the time, fursonas or characters represent the wearer, but this is just simply not always the case. Sometimes fursuits are simply meant to be OCs who have totally different traits and personalities than the wearer, and that means they could be very physically different than the creator of the character. anyone can cosplay anyone.
doesn't matter your body, just make sure that you're not going to die from it :)
exactly, what people sell as "body positivity" is just enabling laziness and gluttony, true body positivity is treating the body well, and not laughing at someone who's at a healthy weight but has a different body structure that doesn't allow for the hour glass body shape, but rather accepting all healthy body types, be it the hourglass, the apple, or the pear or the tube/stick body shape, these are perfectly healthy body structures, just some aren't as attractive as others, and honestly, there will be jerks who will make a huge deal out of how someone looks when it isn't that huge of a deal, but generally, those should just be ignored and/or dealt with appropriately with whatever means that works for the situation. But, for TRUE body positivity to work, we must stop this hyperfixation of being fat and lazy and touting it as healthy when it is not, and start focusing on accepting other body structures that isn't the stereotypical barbie doll body shape as well as accepting those who happen to be blessed with such a body.
Ahh I'm not a anthropomorphic wolf either so does that mean I can't wear a fursuit anymore? 🤔🤔.

This ain't fuckin it, chief. People can do whatever they want with their fursuits.
As a furry myself I'm ashamed these types exist are in our Fandom(s) body, race, sexuality shaming people!

Ayy, another fellow keto dieter
@@nostalgiaghost3647 Yeppers! Although, I hit a pretty bad plateau. =/
“It’s not realistic”
When talking about walking animal characters lol
(Ffs, rabbits don't have pawpads and skunks don't have 4 digits (fingers/toes), they have 5.)
And I can already see the "Yeah, but those animals don't stand on 2 legs either" BS coming up.
Is it really that big of a problem though?
@@mochidog For most people, no. For me and a small fraction of others, yes.
But I won't stop people, id just kinda avoid it
thin shaming is so weird: "You have a higher chance of having healthy body due to not being overweight? Fuck you."
They're trying to say that it seems like body shaming. How has nobody gotten that yet
Exactly. The insinuation is like they’re saying that body mass is just something we can toss off like a jacket at the drop of a hat, something perpetuated by western society for decades. It smacks of appropriation.
All i have to say is: THANK. YOU. Thank you for being a sensible human being XD
Also thank you. Im thick but i wanna cosplay some skinny female characters so bad but i felt i didnt look good enough to do it but now i feel more confident
@@alexattemptsanimation2777 no one as of yet but i wanna cosplay as spider gwen and was gonna be millie from helluva boss this montj hopefully
Twitter has been causing problems since 2021. Wow
Twitter can still kiss my ass, furry or not.
(TW mention of ED) Teenage person here for the longest time i wanted to be really skinny like the girls on the magazine covers and in movies so i stoped eating to look like them and i was so happy when I reached my 100 pound goal which is under weight I’m 5,9 and I should have been weighing about 131-160 I’m still pretty underweight I’m 115 at the moment and still have an eating disorder but it is getting better.
WOW! If this is a Drama, then not only i'm ashamed again to be a Fury but also, this is the biggest problem for furries?? You must have a perfect life!
I sent this video to some non furries and it pissed them off; oddy one of them was an doctor and he was pissed off the most.
As an underweight person this is so annoying to see why would that artist say that . All bodies are beautiful
They're very unhappy people who have the crab bucket mentality.
The only real argument i can see vs padding in a fursuit is that you have to be more conscious of overheating than in a less padded fursuit.
This is a great video!! You’ve made this video informative and interesting! You’ve earned a new subscriber!!
PD: I’m sorry if I have to say it, but I like your voice, it’s so relaxing.
as someone who has been a big person all my life and struggles to lose weight, it's kinda disappointing seeing a big suit and expecting someone to look just like you to climb out of it only for it to be stuffing but i don't get pressed about it. i think it's only an issue when it's fetishized. if someone has a suit that makes them look bigger purely because they get off on it then i think its a problem. you can have preferences for body types but as soon as you fetishize them then it's a problem
"If you wanna be a skeleton and die of heart failier thats also fine"
Me who is underweight and keeps getting anxiety attacks thinking im gonna die from some form of heart problem but my mum wont take me to the doctors or hospital to check it out and ive gotten pretty sick recently: HAHA IM GONNA DIE...
I hope everything is alright.
The fact I was about to make a chonky fursona then this pops up 😭
I'm considering that I should get my own fursuit just like Greeny Woof because I have a pot belly irl. The fursuit will have some exaggeration on the belly part. At least the original artist "❤️" my tweet and accepted the someone else's "fixed" version.
I have a bunch of skinny and fat OCs/fursonas. But I’m naturally skinny with a eating disorder, so this hurts on a personal level
I remember, a year ago. My doctor told me to loose weight. And now, they're telling me to gain weight!
I feel this
I hate how they say the fat is goid and the stuffing is bad. There both good its a PLUSH suit plush suits are thick (good and cute way) a person can be over weight or not over weight to be in a plush fursuit. This is stupid to argue about. This is not a good thing to argue about.
Did the artist make this in a serious way? Or was it made more in a jokey “I love big furs” manner?
I mean, I can get why someone might not like fat fursuits on skinny people, it can bring to mind images of fatsuits, which have been used to shame and mock us for decades. However, fat fursuits usually celebrate diverse bodytypes, so I am all for it.
let's be real here
everything makes furries upset.
Twitter is the place where you get your presidential statements from.
It's hard for the place to be anything other than a cesspool of hatred.
3:31 nobody “wants” to be over or underweight. Please don’t mock things that people can’t control.
“Skinny shaming doesn’t exist or matter!” Well gee guess all those years of bullying for being small and scrawny are just not real!
I just joined, and yep, I’m subbing to a furry channel. I found a cool one.
as someone underweight i don’t necessarily see it as skinny-shaming, but just plain dumbassery lol
i feel you should have not said so much about body shape. cause it was sorta negative when describing ppls bodies shape . like if you wanna look like a skeleton die of heart failure?or exercise till you heart explodes? if you over weight have a heart attack? mate you might need to look at you own vocab. you could have said weather you are fat skin or buff it doesn't matter. cause im skinny and being called a skeleton because i am isn't kool. i have no choice as I'm sure many other ppl don't have As well. hyperthyroid or hypothyroid can make you skinny and the other fat.it is possible to die from either one. i know im being dumb ...
this is just my opinion.
True
Then there's people like me. I weigh 87 pounds last I checked. I want to gain more weight. I need to. But the highest I've been was 98. I've never been 100 pounds or over and I can't help it. I eat so much and I get shamed at school for being so underweight. And then there's my best friend who gets shamed bc she's a little on the bigger side. She's starting to eat less and less bc of it. She ain't even an unhealthy weight. Sometimes I wonder. What even is beauty standards?
"if you wanna be super skinny and die of heart failure-"
my brain: oh yeah thats what were talking about
no im not gonna go to therapy
well fuck, let me be your therapist then
I do think there's a conversation to be had about thin ppl dressing up to look fat, i think that can be insensitive. however, with a fursuit, you're not dressing up as a bigger person, you're dressing up as an anthro animal who already isn't going to have the same body type as you, no matter the character's size, so i don't see a problem with extra padding to create a different body type than the suiter's
Its their fursuit. its the owners choice lol.
I think it's completely fine to cosplay characters with a different body type than your own. Same with gender. And you can choose to go with the traits of the character or yourself, either is fine. Although when cosplaying a character of another race, you have to be more careful since you have to avoid doing anything that could look like blackface etc.
