Good clear instructions. Can tell us where to get an air filter from?

This is pretty much a how to for all MQB platform VW vehicles as it's all in the same location. Also for some reason I never got a notification for this or the w211 oil change you just posted, I checked and I still have it set to "all notifications"🤔🤔

My main dealer had the air flow arrow pointing up! On changing the filter it just looks like they flipped the old one over (dirty both sides). Listers VW - shocking.

I'm subscribed to the channel, but this only showed up on my home page, not my subscriptions. Might explain why the views are so low

Hey Kent - we “quietly” publish what we consider “tier 1” diys, as we know the majority of our viewers tend to not watch the hyper specific simple jobs. So that would make sense if it didn’t show up there! Open to hearing your feedback on that though.

@@fcpeuro That's fair enough, I wasn't aware that there were now different publishing "standards" available. I think that logic makes sense knowing the background now, but my initial impression was that UA-cam was messing with subscription feeds again

I wish my 2019 VW Arteon were as easy! The release tabs on it are a bear to push up for glove box release. Uber pain in the arse!

Sometimes it’s the things that should be simple , that can in fact be such a pain!

Yea it can do a number on your hands if you do them often at the dealership

@@fcpeuro I, for the life of me, can’t understand, how quality/mechanisms can vary so much between models and manufacturing years. My 2020 R is the same: an absolute pain in the ass to push up the release tabs. Haven’t managed to do it so far and my sinews in the lower arms are shot.

I did a little more research and found a way that worked for me:
The way the latches are shaped and anchored in the dash, you shouldn’t push straight up. Also you mustn’t push against the nicely and invitingly pushable looking shaped surfaces of the latches - they are shaped that way, so that you’re able to just push the glove box back in once you’re done.
What you should do, however, is to apply a mix of upward force and a little pull towards the inside of the cabin at the lowest points of the tab respectively. These tabs are basically slightly arched plastic arms reaching from beneath the bottom of the windshield to the inside of the car. That is why it’s good to imagine pushing the tab along the lines of a circle.
Bonus Tip: This time, I drove around for about half an hour with the heater on blast before, so that the plastic may warm up a little.
This way I finally did it! And oh boy was that air filter dirty!
