Only Catalina 25 I've ever even seen with an inboard. You could always throw a kicker outboard on it. Most of them have that anyhow. Probably a lot easier to work on and get parts for.
not many came with a inboard. Mine also has a steering pedestal. Very rare setup.
If you take the boat back home base, you can always tow back and restart at your current point. It will still count, at least in my view.
Another Option: Hopefully, there is a local marine nearby that you can reach by outboard. Someone watching with a local sailing club membership can set you up in their maintenance yard.
Ah, bummer. I was hoping to see you sail this thing in the gulf! Didn't you bring a backup outboard? I sail my C25 SK with an 8hp outboard out of south Texas. Rarely ever need motor outside of the channel.
I do hope you will be able to continue. It would be a shame if you had to stop after all you've gone through so far.
