As always Jack, some really amazing chats...I love it when you speak chinese to them for the first time . Their faces explode into smiles and you can sense their relief that you can speak their native tongue ...Brilliant !
I'm in the UK and my Wife's mother is Chinese (her Father was English). I have known my mother-in-law for almost 30 years, and whenever I visit and say "Hello" she has always responded with the question "Have you had dinner yet?". This always used to puzzle me but I have now come to understand that it is a culturally standard Chinese greeting, as she grew up in that country.

How can the first girl not like where she's living, when she is such a happy person with a positive attitude? Nice video like always, wish the disconnects wouldn't have happened.
Shine - what a great name! Inspired. That’s really stuck in my mind. The net connection didn’t like some of those questions, and what an odd bunch at the end 😃 Another fascinating vid with some interesting conversations
I remember as an 11 year old American speaking to English kids and finding that even if the words were understandable by themselves that the context was not .. just that is a dialect difference in the same language. That was in 1961 so I expect that this kind of problem has decreased so much since .. huh .. wonder what the term is for when dialects tend toward merging?
The statue is pretty cool, but then many authoritarian rulers have pretty sick statues built or sycophants building them to gain favour. One thing I just don't understand is Mao was responsible for so many deaths during his reign, between 40 to 80 million people through famines and the like, yet he is held in such high regard. My wife is Chinese and her mother grew up during the famine years and they had nothing, she is in her mid-70s now and she has never been able to read or write and the stories that my wife told me of what she had to eat and how many meals she missed because of the famine was staggering. Even my wife growing up struggled in her early years struggled, so even after Mao died in 1976, there were huge effects on their economy. It just confuses me how, even after all that hardship people still place him on such a high pedestal.

Hi Jack, I just came across your channel. It is funny when some youtubers claim "perfect chinese" when it is not. Yours is way better.

That girl from Hebei, seems so sweet and lovely. I hope she can find a place in this world she truly enjoys living in.
Woah!!! NingBo looks amazing!! :O
the Jack Jack pictures ahhaha
Maybe Big Brother is listening and cut them off from answering your question?
🤣
Immersive translate can generate bilingual subtitles in any language. I definitely recommend the app
the meaning of life is to experience it till your time is done
the origins is a way bigger topic unless your religious then its cut and dry topic also
Regardless of what you think to his character....You cannot deny that statue of Mao is f*cking dope! Am I right? 😂
The cool engineering is what gets me seeing that
@@eTraxx yeah bet it was some undertaking to build it!
@@BritishJackTalks If I had seen a photo of that earlier I would have been suspicious that it was photoshopped!

Lol..those inserts of DiCaprio and Jack Ma 😂
glad they got appreciated haha, sometimes you wonder, as they only flash up for seconds at most haha
I swear China seems packed with gorgeous women. Great conversations with them.
If the greeting "你今天怎么样了" isn't really correct, then what is a better greeting to use with Chinese people?

Which part of these conversations was your favourite? When I got my flying saucer out?
Whats your favourite Chinese English name? We had a "Shine" today, which I have to say is a brilliant name haha! What's your best example?
One girl I met had the strangest English name, she called herself Crazy. So maybe not my favourite, but a memorable one, haha.

nice..

It's very sad that she "disconnected" the moment you asked her what freedom means. Without the Communist party, there would be no new Chinese tyranny.
