Amazingly I have had 3 people already sign up for my Patreon since I started it last week. Im absolutely over the moon about this and would LOVE to invite many more of you to join! www.patreon.com/BritishJackTalks
Jack, could you add chinese subtitles as well? That way your channel would be a great source for studying! I can understand some of the convo but I can't double check via subtitles if what I got was right.
What makes these videos stand out from all the other ones that are similar, is the extended conversations in Chinese. That really appeals to me, makes it more interesting. I know it's more work doing all the sub title translations...thank you for that. And so many beautiful Chinese women.
What a wonderful video, as always. I find that your youtube channel stands out from most of the other language channels because it's not just "look how many languages i speak" or "white guy shocks people with fluent chinese" or something like that, it's more focused on connecting with people and learning new things. I really do believe your channel will become very popular, Jack!
I'm an American who studied at Shanghai East Normal Univ in 1989. Needless to say, China was very different back then. I had a wonderful time and met so many wonderful people. I'm sure I would not recognize Shanghai today. I looked at 2 photos comparing the city of '89 with today and it's miraculous how much more developed and modern it is. I also traveled to many of the cities Jack mentioned, including Xian. I love this channel and Jack's friendly style. He is a great ambassador for bridging the divide among cultures and languages. People are not governments and we all want the same things in life. It's important to make that distinction regardless of country, mine included. One-on-one we can make a connection and share our common interests. People of good character like Jack show us how it's done. Just learning a few phrases can break the ice and people really appreciate the effort.
Dear Jack, I come from Germany and have been learning Chinese for 2 years. I love your videos and your positive nature. I'm so excited every week to see if a new video comes out. You manage to stand out from other UA-camrs because you have deep conversations and talk about many topics. Thank you very much for your effort.你辛苦了.
Awesome love to hear this! Hope you continue with your learning journey. For me its been-one of the most purposeful and meaning journeys of more whole life! It rewards in so many ways that you wouldn't expect when you first start! Much thanks for the support!
What I like about your videos compared to others that you actually have long conversations with some of them.I like that and the conversation are very interesting. Not like other who only chat for a two minute or less.
@@BritishJackTalks absolutely! As soon as you speak their language, their facial expressions, their entire personality changes, like a wall has suddenly been demolished. It’s kind of wondrous to watch 😊
I love this channel so much! All of your videos have SUPER conversations and cozy atmosphere. Every country has flaws therefore, this is also true for China but these videos illuminate the country and its countrymen from a completely different point of view in my opinion. Although not in 180 degrees, it shapes my opinion of China in a somewhat different direction. And that's important to be honest. So keep it up Jack! Thank you!
Yes, Jack does show the real people of China, it's a shame their government gives them the bad reputation. Most of the people there are really friendly and helpful.
Hey, thanks for another great vid! You really motivate me in learning Chinese, even though I find it hard sometimes. Keep being cheerful and smiling!!!
Another great video jack! On an unrelated note, I was curious if you’ve seen the film Everything Everywhere All at Once, and what were your thoughts if you have seen it. Cheers!
Yes I did watch it. I always try to watch as many of the films listed for Oscars Best Film. My review is I quite enjoyed it, but didn't love it. Some of the scenes were really excellent. I particularly liked the scene where they were both rocks talking to each other (thought it was highly symbolic and very beautiful). I also found the scenes with the hot dogs fingers hilarious. I wouldn't go back and watch it again though.
@@BritishJackTalks Thanks for the reply! As an Asian American there were some generational aspects I could completely relate to. Also, since you often ask the people you speak to in the videos, “what is the meaning of life” I feel like this film perfectly captures the answer to how I feel about this question- the meaning of life is to give life meaning. As always, love the content you make!
I swear the people who are in business are the most arrogant in every country lol. Everyone in these videos is always like noooo my english so bad and they're amazing at english and she was like "my english is average" and she can't understand anything
Hi, I've watched you and your mom react to zhou Shen and would love for you to react and translate if possible to Zhou Shen and Liang Long's you're ruthless. It is really amusing but I'd love a translation.
He has answered this question in the past, currently because this is only part time work it's just not feasible currently. There's a lot of work involved, but I think it is on his list, if I recall correctly. It would be great, I'd love to see the Chinese subtitles too.
