Hi Sarah. Last year at the end of the season I collected some delphinium seeds from a plant in the field. Just one plant gave me about 50 seeds, I went to my polytunnel and sowed them straight away. I had 100% germination. If you remember it (and don't sell every stem!) give that a go this September. I know I'm going to keep doing it. Love your chamber, very cool idea to put hot water in it too
We have weather that requires me moving plants out for sun and to bring them in from harsh winds. A big adjustable shelving unit with wheels works beautifully. :) Maybe that could help with your need to move trays to the greenhouse.
Daucus takes longer. Just giving it a start in the chamber will help. I made a chamber indoors. Covered a shelf with 2 shower curtains . Battery blanket covered with a cookie sheet of water. It works great.
That's cool. My OCD tendency wants to have place for everything an everything in its place, but I couldn't justify one of these (I'm not a big farmer like you). I use a grow tent an heat mats to pull double duty. You're channel is great, ♥ from NY.
Hi Sarah, the good thing is you have trialed one way & found a few issues (naughty mice) so, you both thought of those issues and sorted it & tried again. This is so beneficial to everyone you have shared with & have the opportunity to try it for themselves even with mistakes that have been made too. Well done you for sharing the downfalls of gardening with lots of information along the way too. Will be looking forward to watching further success in germinating your seeds. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
Sarah, When you pull the seedling out, place them on a heat mat to keep the ungerminated seeds warm until they too germinate. Also, smaller trays of just one variety would work better for you.
You do come up with great ideas, really love this one. I don't have a place for one, but it's a fabulous thing. I do sow seeds inside, this year I'm just using the grow lights for daylight, turning the heat mat on thru the night, so far it's working nicely. I can't control the heat, so I figure just over night is enough.
Hi, I've had varied germination of Helichysum this year, some varieties have had a really poor germination , especially the salmon rose, bright rose, apricot peach and dragon fire. I went back to my old method of sowing in a seed tray rather than cell trays, then pricking out. I now have a good batch of salmon rose. The others are still lagging behind. I wonder if it was just a poor batch of seed?
I have to go through my seeds and sort them out according to the amount of time they need to germinate. I don’t have room for full flats of one type of flower for my garden . Someone recommended sowing different seeds in the same flat with approximately the same days it takes for them to germinate, so I thought that I would give that a try. ❄️💚🙃

I'd get a few mouse traps setup with my preferred choice twix, always works
So grateful for your videos!!!!!! Thank you for all the effort you put in. In Australia and been watching for a year.
Bless you; I really like you sharing your process with different things.
Thanks for that Sarah you are so good at explaining what you're doing

👍🏻👍🏻Looks good. I’ve seen people use old refrigerators to make germination chambers.
I hope you had a nice holiday ! ❄️💚🙃
Love the germination chamber and glad it's working. Good job done 👍

Seed starting on this scale is a serious amount of work.
Thank you Sarah, be safe, stay healthy, and see you next time. ❄️💚🙃

Your germination chamber is a great idea! I’m glad it was a success for you. ❄️💚🙃

Awesome 😄 love our little pull trolley for transporting seedlings and harvest buckets etc
I have one of the little ones but it needs to be about 5x bigger 😂
@@bloomandgray haha ummmm trailer on the quad bike?/ 😅
Thank you so much for sharing x
This was so interesting! ❤
You look great ,must have been a lovely holiday, I'm really struggling with my scabiosa, new seed, do you cover yours?
Cool idea. I wonder if an old fridge would work as the chamber?🤔
Yes definitely. I’ve seen lots like that
Her accent makes me want to sing the cranberries song “zombie” ❤😂
Great idea. Going to build one. What size is the fish tank heater 300w?

Try putting your thermometer into a plastic sandwich bag, that would probably keep it dry 😊
it's ideal for pine seed germination pl
Dumb question, can a germination chamber have lights out is it too humid?🌸💗🌸
If they were waterproof lights I think they’d work
