Always lots of great info. Loved the info on the Korean pressings. Thanks for posting. Some notes on pronunciation: Stokowski = Stokovski. W is spoken like a V. Viktrola, not Victor-ola. Bande is a French word so just say Bond, not Banday. Hope this helps.
Thank you for the info and comments. I can't believe I have gone this long not realizing it was Victrola not Victorola !!! Well this is what happens when you don't converse with people in real life about classical vinyl :)
Another great vinyl bliss video exploration of recent vinyl finds ending with an analysis of the nocturnal activities of a Moomin like horse on the cover of an obscure Scandinavian album. Always a unique treat! Great score picking up the Dutoit Danse Macabre disc. I tend to find that record as the magical moment when Kenneth Wilkinson hands on his Decca Sound baton to John Dunkerley to take into the future. Dunkerley made the soon to be bulldozed Kingsway Hall absolutely sing that session. I totally agree about the benefits of having an alternate stylus profile option when collecting vintage vinyl; unfortunately I have ended up with seven to choose from!
Haha! Seven stylus profiles to choose from is a very excellent problem to have. Yes I forgot to mention it must be one of the last recordings in Kingsway hall. So this was the beginning of the Dunkerly Era? He must have assisted under Wilksonson for a while. It is such a shame Kingsway Hall is gone but I have learned from our Videos that Walthamstow Hall is also very special.
Dunkerley started off in 1974 and initially worked alongside many of the greats including KW. But like Alan Reeve he continued afterwards to do occasional sessions alongside KW for years afterwards with great results. I suspect this was the reason the sonic qualities of his work going well into the digital era carries the KW hallmark. Walthamstow by the way is going to feature in the next couple of videos I’m working on but not in a way you’ll expect!
Always a pleasure.
i know nothing about vinyls, but i can easily enjoy anything presented with as much passion & interest as you presented this! great info. :)
Wow I'm glad you watched !! Thank you :)

@@analogueanorak1904 Thank you for the excellent info. I am intrigued about the up and coming videos, I have notifications turned well on :)
Hope you don't mind - a bit of a pronunciation issue! Janacek is said "YanaCheck". The quartet is named after the great Czech composer Leoš Janáček 😀
I don't mind at all. That makes sense! I knew something was soft sounding and thought it was the "ček". Thank you for the correction.
