Yes Mr ProjectFlashlight612 and someone else at the BBC said at the time that those tapes were also wiped to record over and save money . Not believable considering that the BBCs buying power could have bought a truckload of tapes for a few quid and still have cash left over to continue subsidising the Executive Canteen .
they wiped all the dr who episodes as well. a group of dr who fans spent their own money hunting around the world to get all the episodes back. some were badly damaged so spliced several copies together to make 1 working episode. in some cases they had sound but no picture so they made their own sets and refilmed it with as many of the orignal actors as they could. others had picture but no sound. so again they got the scripts and got the original actors in to put the sound back on. a few only had the scripts so it was a total remake using the original actors. all paid for by the fans who set up a company called loose cannons. they put them on torrents sites to download for free. BBC decided it was copyright theft and took the loose cannons crew to court. court ruling was as the BBC destroyed their copies they no longer have copyright. and told the BBC they r not allowed to make copies of dr who that lose cannons had restored or they would get done for copyright theft as loose cannons had the copyright. so every copy of the dr who episides made between 1962 and 1989 being sold by the BBC r pirate copies. They have not paid a single penny of the profits they made from selling them to loose cannons which is in violation of the court ruling. They would need permission from loose cannons to sell them but loose cannons said no they r to be given away to the fans for free. Several other offences of the same type have been commited by the BBC and they lose in court every time. So by watching BBC TV and paying them for the TV liscence ur supporting a law breaking company. Were told that piracy supports terrorists so does that mean the BBC r terrorists lol as most of the piracy is done by the BBC.
