Yesterday I purchased the burgundy hibiscus 🌺 and my husband said, Now where are you going to plant that? The beds are packed. My response; The old daylilies are space holders like seat fillers at the Emmy Awards. Once the star arrives I remove the filler... Side eye from the peanut gallery.
Great analogy! Love that someone else's husband is giving them a hard time too!
Emcg We've been married for 31 years and hr still brings me water when I work in the yard. Side eye is cute now.
Cora Blu l love your response😄
Always room for more lol x
That is funny 😄
The flowers on that pink variety are just so captivating, you can’t help but be drawn towards them
Love, love these hibiscus. Check some hibiscus designs here: teespring.com/live-life-in-full-bloom-2020?tsmac=store&tsmic=plant-addix&pid=340
Your garden tours are NEVER too Long! We love them. Yes, please do 2 a month so we can see the changes. That helps us so much so that we can see what will work in our gardens.
The hibiscus are beautiful ❤❤❤❤ Hey Laura just a humble request could you do one video dedicated to all the roses in your garden just a tour and some care tips please.. Love all your videos they are very informative and calming as well
Ooh, maybe talk about the Minnesota Tip method popularized in, well, MN. It's for overwintering more delicate varieties. (I know you have MN relatives.)
Yes, please!
Would like it too 🌹
Hibiscus are indeed so pretty and it has a lot of varieties. Check hibiscus designs here: teespring.com/live-life-in-full-bloom-2020?tsmac=store&tsmic=plant-addix&pid=794
I am a giant hibiscus fan for sure! I just love, love these hardy perennials!
Hello, I have a question, after bloom of flower is dead, do you take just the flower off or whole bud/flower? I see you leave yours up all winter without cutting down? Upstate ny here, do you recommend I do same? Please and thank you!
My 11 year old son knows what spillers, thrillers and fillers are now. Poor guy has taken too many rides with mom to the greenhouse but now he is creating his own succulent bowls so it’s nice to have him find another creative outlet
Hibiscus 🌺 is the best answer for Happy Ending's. Life is nothing without nursery.
Wow, the gardens are beautiful at your friends house! I love all the soft pink. Adding a pop of hot pink is just the ticket! I am glad to see that I am not the only one who jumps on my shovel to drive it deeper when planting. :)
One perk having an expert gardener friend is they share plant divisions.
In case anyone is wondering the pink and white rose bushes in front are Japanese nearly wild roses.
Was def wondering
I just added a hibiscus to a new bed and it is gorgeous! Mocha moon. Dark foliage and beautiful pink blooms. I think a deer 🦌 has nibbled on the tips. If they only take a taste we will remain friends!! 🌻👩🏻🌾 would like a tour of the garden from today’s video! Very pretty!
I had to watch this video again to remind myself that my hibiscus is not dead. I trimmed them back 2 weeks ago but after watching realized I should take them down more and to water a lot.it’s really nice being able to go back through your videos when I need to. Thank you for all you and Aaron do. 🌺
I have a gorgeous drift of Ballet Slippers Hibiscus and I lovelovelove them every year! Always so full of huge blooms they’re really show stopping! I planted one in my front yard and I’ve had so many people admiring them and taking pictures :) 10/10 would recommend
I planted a Summerific Berry Awesome a few years ago. The first year it was a real struggle to keep it hydrated enough and then last year it was eh...BUT this year it exploded in blooms and didn't require any supplemental watering. It really did sleep-creep-leap! I love that the leaves have a burgundy blush to them.
I ve planted and its blooming out beautifully with a lot of sun and watering daily
I’ve never been a fan of allysums but that border has made me change my mind, wow!
They are wonderful en mass. I bought a house that had lots of them and they look beautiful. They self seed as well, another bonus if you're a lazy gardener like me. If you ever decide to plant some make sure you plant quite a few to make a statement.
Agree! The multiple colors of allysum looked really nice as a border.
They look very nice in border, but the smell isn't my cup of tea.
@@Frances6889 They have a smell? I have never ever noticed a smell at all. It must be one of those things where some people are disgusted by a certain flower's smell and others don't mind it or detect a smell.
@@julvwildcat190 they smell sweet like honey
Such a beautiful garden! The hibiscus around the fountain looks great.
Hi Gloria, check out this tank top hibiscus teespring.com/live-life-in-full-bloom-2020?tsmac=store&tsmic=plant-addix&pid=117
SPECTACULAR color contrast of the leaves and hibiscus blooms! Great choice Laura....#sold
The candy crush is breathtaking. I turned my light purple normal size hibiscus into a standard since it was in the middle of where I put in a herb/edible flower garden. It has turned out amazing and is about 6-7' tall but sparse with TONS of flowers that are so yummy. This plant attracts so many butterflies and little kids but provides hardly any shade to the plants underneath - perfect! I'm getting so many babies, also. Amazing plant here in North Florida.
Your friends are VERY lucky to know you guys. I LOVE these hibiscus! 'Holy Grail' WAS my favorite; UNTIL I saw the other colors in the Summerific series. Now, ALL of them are my favorites! Thanks so much for doing this wonderful video! Love it!
PROVEN WINNERS ROCKS! 🌺💚
Hibiscus in different colours are truly amazing. Feel free to check some hibiscus tees here: teespring.com/live-life-in-full-bloom-2020?tsmac=store&tsmic=plant-addix&pid=370&cid=6530
Before mother passed away she always wanted a hibiscuses for Mother’s Day. They were very different from these and I never really liked them, these though are so striking!💚🌺
There are many new varieties, many of them absolute stunners. And I always love to plant tough beautiful flowers in honor of loved ones. That way the flowers make me remember and smile.
I must say, Laura, there is no doubt Proven Winners’ sales have gone up since they partnered with you and Aaron. I have bought many of the plants you show from PW based solely on your use of them. I have one hardy hibiscus that does well but I’ve never been in love with the giant blooms and have considered removing it. Now I watch you plant some and I’m like - oh hey, I need to keep that AND buy at least 3 of the pink ones! 😊
I know you said that you don’t have to underplant them, but these pink hibiscus would look amazing with Supertunia Vista Bubblegum planted underneath! 🌸
Hi Pam if you love these hibiscus, you might wanna check these hibiscus designs here: teespring.com/live-life-in-full-bloom-2020?tsmac=store&tsmic=plant-addix&pid=936&cid=103888
So beautiful!!!! Color is amazing🌺
thank you for sharing this video! I'm sharing it with my sister who is growing a memorial hibiscus in honor of our precious niece who passed away. My sister has had issues with the buds yellowing and falling off so I think she'll really appreciate hearing how to combat that.
Such a pretty shade of pink! I would love one in my garden but that means I have to dig more holes! It’s great exercise!
I’m sure one hole is enough.
This garden is so sweet. All that pink & white. Both gardens there are so perfect. Thisr hibiscus are Gorgous.💛
So funny that you put this video out today! I just picked up a hibiscus and needed info on the care and needs of this plant. Thank you so much! Just what I needed today. 🤗🌺
Your friends have a lovely garden in the making! I think the addition of the hibiscus was a great choice for those areas to help fill in where they still have room in the beds. Thank you for the wonderful tutorial and especially the tip about pinching the early growth to promote bushing. I’ve never heard that. Great job on the video, Aaron! 💚🌺
Hi Sherri, we are on the same boat. Love these hibiscus too. Do check out some cool hibiscus designs here: teespring.com/live-life-in-full-bloom-2020?tsmac=store&tsmic=plant-addix&pid=370
Oh wow what a fantastic flower variety and such a lovely spot for coffee with Laura today! Your friends have a beautiful garden space. This is another plant going on my list for sure I think I might have a good area for them to grow in!!!!
Thanks for the tip on pinching them! Late to do it this year but I'm doing that for sure next year!
Brad Johnson what does she mean pinching.
@@brooke1615 so basically cut the very top off at the next set of leaves. The plant will then start branching at all the leaf nodes and create a bushier plant with more blooms
Omg I think this is what one of my neighbors have. I’ve never seen them before, the blooms are huge, they look unreal. Thank you 😮🌸
I love hibiscus and LOVE Hibiscus tea even more than their beauty! 💗💕
I must say, of all the gardening videos I have watched. I like yours the best.
Over 600K subbies now!!!!!
💖 Bubble gum and cotton candy!
These remind me of summer fun. Beautiful blooms. Will be on the look out for these. Adding to my list for next year☀️🌺☀️🦋☀️🦜
The yard looks like a dream!!! Its beautiful! Laura, your touch in this yard makes the yard glorious!

I planted 2 different colors of this plant this year. I live in NW WI zone 4b. These didn't really put on any growth until the beginning of July but once we got some heat they took off. I'll have to remember to pinch them back next year to see if they get fuller at the base. Thanks for another great vlog!
The flowers are very pretty in this yard. They look so healthy and colorful to all blended together.
I did really enjoy this video. Thank you so much for letting use know your plans and seeing the cut flower shed. 🌼
Im watching your gorgeous hibiscus without blinking my eyes.. thank u for this video

We have wild Hibiscus growing in the marshes here on Maryland's eastern shore, an were always 1 of my mom's favorites, she dug them up an moved them to her gardens, which I plan to do myself, altho I will be adding some of these too. Thanks for featuring them.!
Beautiful addition to their gorgeous gardens. Love the colors.
These are gorgeous. I've planted one and you are so right that they start to grow very late in the season to the point that I forget that I have it until all of a sudden I find it blooming.
Yay!!! A zone 4 plant...lol. I love Hibiscus. They are so beautiful. I need to get a couple for my garden. 🌸🌷🌵🌸
Yup, hibiscus is indeed so pretty. Love, love the variety of colours too. Check some hibiscus designs here: teespring.com/live-life-in-full-bloom-2020?tsmac=store&tsmic=plant-addix&pid=95&cid=2264
Omg mine just come out today!!!! 😍🙌
We had a bad snow storm here in San Antonio 2 months ago. I left it outside and thought it was dead.
I LOVE Mallows! So reliable and incredible bloom for the buck.
I always avoided hibiscus because we had those leggy ones growing up in Florida. I never liked those. These are so beautiful.
This is my favourite perennial. I planted 2 red ones and I also enjoy the pink/white variety in my garden. Some have green leaves some have purple and they’re massive - which I love. 🌺🌺
Beautiful plant and beautiful flowers . lovely colours .l like the red one
I love the Hibiscus. Any ideas why mine had leaf curl and deformed flowers this year? I only found Japanese beetles on them, no other insects.🤷♀️ That yard is lovely....such beautiful flowers.
I just say wow. Hibiscus are nice.❤
What zone is Richmond/Lynchburg, Virginia?
Hey, ya wanna come to my house? Ha, ha!!! To be serious, I'm the viewer that mentioned we bought a beautiful 27 acres on Bedford Lake in Bedford, Virginia! And it is so exciting, I just want to conquer it all ,but it is overwhelming and I'm taking the advice of P.Alan to take it one step at a time. I have over 40 of those little garden "rooms" that he speaks of . So much was started by the previous owners, so I do not have to start from scratch for the areas closest to the house. My favorite videos of yours are when you do things with containers and window boxes and big arches. I love how the arches create an entry into a "room" ,so to speak. I only wish I could afford advise from a professional! , lol!!!! But I'm so thankful for your videos! !!!!! And, you are my Professional online ! Thanks so much for sharing your expertise with everyone! !!!
Renée in Virginia
PS. I recently saw a neighbor with hibiscus and it was then that I realized that they must grow in this zone. Since we recently moved here (from Louisiana ) I am beginning to do my research on what plants can grow here. I'm just having trouble reading/ understanding the zoning ,I guess it's because I may be close to the border of the zones. Bedford is closer to Lynchburg.
Renée I believe you are a zone 7a. You can Google garden zone by zip code and many sites will pop up, I like the USDA one (they don't require you email info)
Hi Renee, I live close to you (30 mins). We are zone 7a
Hi Laura... I absolutely love my Kopper King & Blue River Hibiscus. They get so huge every year & plenty of gorgeous flowers. You always have such a fabulous garden & love your videos.
Try the Summerific Choco Latte! It blooms the first of July and the flowers are about 12" in circumference. The Summerific Perfect Storm is gorgeous too!
🌺I love them both.. :) we see Hibiscus a lot here in Florida. I am looking forward to planting this variety, because I do not like the older leggy varieties.🌺
I absolutely love hibiscus.
The landscaping is breathtakingly gorgeous!! Love, love, love! 🌸🌸
I really appreciate these spotlight videos, please keep them coming! 😊
PW needs to introduce this range to the UK. Love love this. 💖
Love the pink & red shades of color! I will have to think about planting Hibiscus! Thank you for the very useful information - love your videos!! 😍👍❤🌺💓🦋💚🌿
Stunning hibiscus! Might have to get one....🌺 or two.... 🌺🌺😊
That pink is absolutely gorgeous
Wow.... they are just beautiful !
Their beautiful 🌺🌺🌺
My mother has 3 of these dark pink trees in her garden their very pretty
They have bloomed since it spring in Sydney AUSTRALIA
My last house had a few Hibiscus..mauve and pink, the new owners don't prune them as much..the are at least 12-15 feet high and about 8feet or more wide.
Northwest Coast...
I have a huge hibiscus that I put ito a tub of water and it grows like crazy, I never have to worry if it has enough water. My local garden center actually sold me the one they had in their pond. I love iit. It was over wintered outside on my porch. Such a beautiful flower.
Perfect timing! I just scored 3 Luna hibiscus on clearance $5 @ lowes yesterday!
Love the clearance section at Lowes! I've found amazing healthy plants there for shockingly low prices .
But milibug insect is very harmful for hibiscus . I sprayed many times but it doesn't go
$4 at Walmart for me!! I bought two.
@@NinaSharee wow I've gotta keep an eye on my Walmart now! I want a white one to add to all the burgundy ones I have.
Hi Laura and Aaron! Those are some beautiful Hibiscus! I love the pinks, too! Your friends have beautiful flower beds. They've done a really nice job on them. Thank you for sharing!
I didn't realize you could grow hibiscus where the weather was cold.I can't wait to try.
I just bought 2 of the red ones!! So glad you posted this!! Thank you!! ❤
I have a red one . That it grows beautifully every summer for 3 years now . I would not change my decision if I had to choose again
Thanks for this video!! I'm so happy for all the tips on watering and pinching the new growth.
A mental health moment. I completely get it. I changed a flower bed into a 12 ft circle with small boxwoods and it was hard! The whole area is beautiful and I think the trees are perfect.
I love Hibiscus. My mom grows tons of them❤
Hibiscus plants are common in our country also.and in various colours. They're such beautiful plants and need no watering all the time. Your plants are so nice.garden is well groomed. Thank you for sharing this amazing video. Greetings friend ❤
What are the pink/white flowering shrubs in the first bed?
I just planted the summerific 'Perfect Storm' in my new garden bed. Dark foliage, white blooms with streaks of pink and a dark pink eye. They are beautiful.
They look beautiful. Love the colors. 💕🌻💕🌻
We need a tour of this little yard!
Baçariqli qiz.Super gözəllik yaradib.
Beautiful Laura, thanks 💕🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺🌸
Back when you were a zone 5. I love these flowers.
Beautiful garden love the colors.
Ilike your garden.all the flowers so beautiful.
Felicidades, siempre le da un toque muy personal que hace que luzcan hermosos los espacios que diseña, así como también los arreglos en miniatura 🌷
Love the style of the video! Beautiful garden and plants that were put in. 🌺 Thanks for sharing all of the great info!
Oh my gosh I just love the colors on them hibiscus they are gorgeous I got to try to get me some of them and hope they will stay blooming and beautiful 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love watching your videos. It has given me inspiration to start tackling our yard. Please keep them coming.
Got a piece of hibiscus from my sister years ago and plopped it into the ground in my back yard. I forgot about it and have only fertilized it 1 or 2 times. That thing gets as tall as me and it produces beautiful red blooms.
I love learning new plant tips! Now I know why buds sometimes turn yellow and fall off. I’ll be able to turn that issue around.
What a great video with lots of information about their care! I would love to see a video about Rose of Sharon care, which I know is just another version of the hibiscus.
After watching your show, I bought 4 plants last year. As of today, May 22, 2021 the plants haven’t coming back yet. And no sign of that are still alive.
You are a wonderful Happy Head Laura. I love following your Vlogs x
My fav color! Beautiful! I'd love to be a fairy in that garden!
Love this! What are the pink & white bushes in the flower beds? They are beautiful!
Linda Daley I need to know that as well!
They look like some type of single roses
I need to know too!!!
Would also love to know 😃
I believe they are Czechmark Trilogy which Laura reviewed. They are beautiful
Hibiscus 🌺 are my Favorite, I live in Michigan, finally getting nice 70 degree weather, I buy them every year around Mother's day, a traditional thing with my 2 daughters, they get them for me now. I experimented last fall & brought them in the house, they grew, but, no buds to flower, any tips to help them bloom in the winter months?? I Love your videos!! Thanks for educating me about flowers 💐
This turned out so beautiful!! You're amazing!! Thank you for sharing!!
Wow! Those are beautiful! I have the perfect spot for one, too.
Your garden is a piece of art I really appreciate the hard work salutations from Morocco
I have a hibiscus (not a hardy) similar to this color. It's recovering. I almost lost it twice in one year. It was gorgeous the full first year I had it then I accidentally shocked it with too much heat because we had a 90 degree day in early spring the day after I took it outside. Then watered it too irregularly during winter. It's full of leaves now. It won't bloom a lot this year but has some starting. It only had two flowers on it last year in late summer. I think I have it figured out, but learned they are sensitive plants.
I have never given hibiscus a thought. Now I want some!
