@@Skelem0 It also means that not everyone needs to avoid carbs at all costs ;) Anyone can eat some carbs and sugar and get leaner. Sure, she might biologically be able to eat a lot more and stay lean but she reminds us that carbs aren't the devil
Becky Riesinger And just because low carb works for some people it doesn’t mean we should all eat low carb diet. I personally train 4-5 times weight training in the gym per week and need a lot of carbs as well! Everyones different.
Normally I find gym montages rather boring and repetitive but you always have such different and interesting movements and routines, I always just end up feeling inspired after watching them!

I’m currently in my Honours year of Psychology in Australia (4th year uni) and completing my thesis on the influences of and associations between interoceptive awareness (ability to interpret bodily sensations), self-compassion and body appreciation, and I’m actually looking at intuitive eating as a variable as part of my model. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now but I have a newfound appreciation for your intuitive eating videos since doing my own research - I feel like I could almost do my own science explained video by now 😂 But seriously though, love your passion, knowledge and outlook on life! I love this video and you guys adorable. This is actually the only channel where I can watch videos about food and weight and feel only motivation and happiness by the end of it. Also, I can't wait for the Marine Fitness Test!
I don't watch or subscribe to "fitness" or "nutrition" channels in general on social-media, because, well, I think you can guess why. When UA-cam started suggesting this channel, I honestly ignored it at first (I figured the algorithm noticed that I was watching a science-based nutrition channel, so figured all "fitness and nutrition" was an interest to me), but when I saw one that I thought might be interesting, I gave it a try. I then found myself watching video after video, and slowly realizing that not only does Natacha have a terrific sense of humour, and has a large silly streak, nerds out about science (both of which I admire, and appreciate as it's true for me also, on both counts), she also knows what she's talking about in her videos. HUGE respect for sharing quality, evidence-based information, while also saying that she doesn't know everything about everything, and that she actually keeps up on the science. *If I could super-sub this channel, I would! Mega-sub! Titan-sub! Gamma-ray burst-sub!!!*

Just subscribed to your channel. I used to try and eat very low carb and had a bad relationship with food. I LOVE your videos on metabolism and nutrition. Now I eat more and see food differently. The knowledge you gave me is an absolute game changer thx a lot! The goal is to have a high tdee like you :)
I just started a new anxiety medication and I haven’t started working out yet because I’m adjusting to it!! It sucks but I know that once I feel better I can work out again!! Watching you motivates me through!!😀
Hey Natacha, I’ve been following your videos for a little over two years now, but I’ve never felt like I was in a position to leave a comment until now. I know you probably won’t see this, or read the whole thing, but I just want you to know how much of an inspiration you have been to me these past few years. My story is very similar to yours (and unfortunately, to countless others who have strived to lose weight in the past). When I was around 14, about 5 years ago, I started becoming conscious of how I looked. So, naturally, I did what the majority of people would do in that situation. I restricted my calories and bumped up my exercise. I did lose weight, for a while, but of course I was only preoccupied with short term results, and neglected to see what this would do to me long term. My BMI dropped from a healthy weight to underweight (17.9 was my lowest I believe), I lost my period, and my family (I was angry all the time and I pushed them away without meaning to). My every thought was about how I looked, how much I weighed. I was underweight, I lost my period, and I STILL thought I was fat and disgusting. No matter what anyone told me, or how much my body was fighting against me, I was stuck in my ways. After a while I started binge eating and gained a lot of weight. I’m a normal weight now - physically I am recovered but mentally.. that’s another story. Getting to a normal weight only made me even more miserable than before. I’m not sure when or how or if it is even a thing, but I’ve definitely developed some form of OCD when it comes to food and exercise. I have wasted so much of my life these past years. Looking for the perfect workout routines, the perfect diet. As a fellow woman of science I’m sure you understand when I say I question EVERYTHING. Overthink EVERYTHING. Focusing so much on the minute details that I neglected the bigger picture. Nothing I tried seemed to stick. The second I came up with a plan, I would change it before I had even put it into practise, because I kept thinking: no, this is not perfect. I can do better. The result being that I’m just stressed all the time, miserable and mentally exhausted. I would watch your videos in awe at how healthy your relationship with food and exercise is. After a particularly bad few days, I’ve finally decided that enough is enough. I don’t want to live my life like this anymore. I want to learn things, have experiences, live life to the full. And this... it’s not living. But that ends now. A new gym opened this week in my town and I took it upon myself to join, but of course I had to spend hours upon hours researching about different training types, what’s the best for fat loss, how many reps/sets, how much weight etc, to the point where I spent a whole night researching instead of sleeping. And that, right there, is my problem. I know how important sleep is, but I compromised it because of something so TRIVIAL. This obsession is holding me back from creating a consistent healthy lifestyle. But watching videos of yours like this one, and countless others, you’ve helped me tremendously to change my thought patterns. Seeing how happy you are, how healthy... it’s made me rethink so much. You don’t stress over your eating or workouts, you just eat and do what your body wants. And that... that’s a whole other world to me. And today, I changed. I’m not going to stress anymore. I’m completely, irrevocably done with this. Thanks to this video, I stepped out of my comfort zone today. I went to the gym with no plan, no goal. It was terrifying but.. I did it. And I’ve discovered something I am truly, truly passionate about. I wanted to try out the weight section but of course it was overflowing with big, burly men. So I stuck to my treadmill, where I was safe. Then, weirdly enough, you came to mind. I thought about how you absolutely CRUSH every single man in the gym with your insane workouts. Your strength, your enthusiasm and your courage motivated me to step out of my comfort zone. I went to the weights and being the only girl there I HONESTLY felt like I was going to die. But I did it, I tested the waters slowly.. and I had the absolute best, most empowering workout I have ever had. I came away feeling like I could do anything, be anything. Lifting weights made me feel alive in a way I haven’t in a long time. Thanks to you, your courage, I’ve discovered a passion. And because of that session, I was so much more flexible with my eating. Mostly healthy but with a few treats here and there. And strangely... I don’t feel that paralysing sense of guilt i normally feel after eating something ‘unclean’. All I can think is... everything I’ve eaten today is going to make me stronger. And for the first day in MONTHS, I haven’t had any urges to binge. Today really is the beginning of something I’ve wanted for a long, long time. Flexibility and consistency are key - this is a concept I’ve neglected in the past. A concept that YOU helped me to understand. I can’t wait to see where my journey takes me next. There are so many things to see and learn, foods to enjoy, people to meet. I can’t wait to get stronger, to gain my confidence back, to love my life. Which I think, I hope.. is the way forward from now. Please, keep making these videos. You helped me to discover my passion, to learn to love living. Keep helping others, keep being an inspiration to people all over the world. Keep being an example to young women and girls that being a woman does not equate to being weak. But most of all, keep being you. I hope this comment has even remotely conveyed how much of a role model you’ve been for me, and will continue to be. Thank you, Natacha. P.S I know this is incredibly sappy and I’m sorry but I’m feeling so happy and strong today, a feeling I’ve seldom felt before and it’s in big part thanks to YOU. I don't watch or subscribe to "fitness" or "nutrition" channels in general on social-media, because, well, I think you can guess why. When UA-cam started suggesting this channel, I honestly ignored it at first (I figured the algorithm noticed that I was watching a science-based nutrition channel, so figured all "fitness and nutrition" was an interest to me), but when I saw one that I thought might be interesting, I gave it a try. I then found myself watching video after video, and slowly realizing that not only does Natacha have a terrific sense of humour, and has a large silly streak, nerds out about science (both of which I admire, and appreciate as it's true for me also, on both counts), she also knows what she's talking about in her videos. HUGE respect for sharing quality, evidence-based information, while also saying that she doesn't know everything about everything, and that she actually keeps up on the science. *If I could super-sub this channel, I would! Mega-sub! Titan-sub! Gamma-ray burst-sub!!!*

Just subscribed to your channel. I used to try and eat very low carb and had a bad relationship with food. I LOVE your videos on metabolism and nutrition. Now I eat more and see food differently. The knowledge you gave me is an absolute game changer thx a lot! The goal is to have a high tdee like you :)
I just started a new anxiety medication and I haven’t started working out yet because I’m adjusting to it!! It sucks but I know that once I feel better I can work out again!! Watching you motivates me through!!😀

I’ve been following your videos for a little over two years now, but I’ve never felt like I was in a position to leave a comment until now. I know you probably won’t see this, or read the whole thing, but I just want you to
know how much of an inspiration you have been to me these past few years. My story is very similar to yours (and unfortunately, to countless others who have strived to lose weight in the past). When I was around 14, about 5 years ago, I started becoming conscious of how I looked. So, naturally, I did what the majority of people would do in that situation. I restricted my calories and bumped up my exercise. I did lose weight, for a while, but of course I was only preoccupied with short term results, and neglected to see what this would do to me long term. My BMI dropped from a healthy weight to underweight (17.9 was my lowest I believe), I lost my period, and my family (I was angry all the time and I pushed them away without meaning to). My every thought was about how I looked, how much I weighed. I was underweight, I lost my period, and I STILL thought I was fat and disgusting. No matter what anyone told me, or how much my body was fighting against me, I was stuck in my ways. After a while I started binge eating and gained a lot of weight. I’m a normal weight now - physically I am recovered but mentally.. that’s another story. Getting to a normal weight only made me even more miserable than before. I’m not sure when or how or if it is even a thing, but I’ve definitely developed some form of OCD when it comes to food and exercise. I have wasted so much of my life these past years. Looking for the perfect workout routines, the perfect diet. As a fellow woman of science I’m sure you understand when I say I question EVERYTHING. Overthink EVERYTHING. Focusing so much on the minute details that I neglected the bigger picture. Nothing I tried seemed to stick. The second I came up with a plan, I would change it before I had even put it into practise, because I kept thinking: no, this is not perfect. I can do better. The result being that I’m just stressed all the time, miserable and mentally exhausted. I would watch your videos in awe at how healthy your relationship with food and exercise is. After a particularly bad few days, I’ve finally decided that enough is enough. I don’t want to live my life like this anymore. I want to learn things, have experiences, live life to the full. And this... it’s not living. But that ends now. A new gym opened this week in my town and I took it upon myself to join, but of course I had to spend hours upon hours researching about different training types, what’s the best for fat loss, how many reps/sets, how much weight etc, to the point where I spent a whole night researching instead of sleeping. And that, right there, is my problem. I know how important sleep is, but I compromised it because of something so TRIVIAL. This obsession is holding me back from creating a consistent healthy lifestyle. But watching videos of yours like this one, and countless others, you’ve helped me tremendously to change my thought patterns. Seeing how happy you are, how healthy... it’s made me rethink so much. You don’t stress over your eating or workouts, you just eat and do what your body wants. And that... that’s a whole other world to me. And today, I changed. I’m not going to stress anymore. I’m completely, irrevocably done with this. Thanks to this video, I stepped out of my comfort zone today. I went to the gym with no plan, no goal. It was terrifying but.. I did it. And I’ve discovered something I am truly, truly passionate about. I wanted to try out the weight section but of course it was overflowing with big, burly men. So I stuck to my treadmill, where I was safe. Then, weirdly enough, you came to mind. I thought about how you absolutely CRUSH every single man in the gym with your insane workouts. Your strength, your enthusiasm and your courage motivated me to step out of my comfort zone. I went to the weights and being the only girl there I HONESTLY felt like I was going to die. But I did it, I tested the waters slowly.. and I had the absolute best, most empowering workout I have ever had. I came away feeling like I could do anything, be anything. Lifting weights made me feel alive in a way I haven’t in a long time. Thanks to you, your courage, I’ve discovered a passion. And because of that session, I was so much more flexible with my eating. Mostly healthy but with a few treats here and there. And strangely... I don’t feel that paralysing sense of guilt i normally feel after eating something ‘unclean’. All I can think is... everything I’ve eaten today is going to make me stronger. And for the first day in MONTHS, I haven’t had any urges to binge. Today really is the beginning of something I’ve wanted for a long, long time. Flexibility and consistency are key - this is a concept I’ve neglected in the past. A concept that YOU helped me to understand. I can’t wait to see where my journey takes me next. There are so many things to see and learn, foods to enjoy, people to meet. I can’t wait to get stronger, to gain my confidence back, to love my life. Which I think, I hope.. is the way forward from now. Please, keep making these videos. You helped me to discover my passion, to learn to love living. Keep helping others, keep being an inspiration to people all over the world. Keep being an example to young women and girls that being a woman does not equate to being weak. But most of all, keep being you. I hope this comment has even remotely conveyed how much of a role model you’ve been for me, and will continue to be.
