Thanks JasonH for the request of another Gene Watson song. To me, it's a song about the spirit of resilence and determination. The song paints a picture of hope and strength. The song was written by Hank Cochran and Monen Carpenter and first recorded by Ray Price in 1966. Gene released his version in 1997. Thanks for the reaction

Don't know if I know this one. Sounds good. Someone said Ray Price did it. Yes I can hear Ray all over it. Maybe I've heard it by Ray before. Gene sounds so good on this. Steel guitar. Backing vocals, lyrics on point. Right in the pocket. Solid country song.

Thanks Jason for a great request. One of my favorite country shuffles. While Ray did the original in 1970 and Gene's cover hear is really good, my personal favorite is Junior Browns' cover from his "12 Shades of Brown".---#UTRCM

@Dennis King I love that whole album. How every song is an homage to a classic performer or style. From Hank Williams to Hank Thompson and a lot in between. My favorite from it probably is "My Baby Don't Dance to Nothing but Ernest Tubb" At least for today.

Have to admit, I honestly don't remember this one. I think that Gene Watson's signature song was probably "Fairwell Party". I haven't heard any of this songs on the Radio in a long time, and I'm talking about the Classic Country Stations.
