My wife works at a bar I'm very disappointed to learn that she can't carry a firearm. She very much needs the protection. Are any exceptions made for employees at stand alone bars?
If it’s that serious man, she needs to switch bars because any place alcohol is sold the employees can’t carry weapons. Patrons always will, regardless of signs on the door
@Neutral News yeah that's the problem. It doesn't really matter what bar you go to. Some idiot will be carrying a firearm and getting loaded. There are multiple shootings every year at bars in Lexington. She does carry other means of self-defense, which is better than nothing but not ideal when facing the potential of encountering someone with a gun. The money is very good for the small number of hours she works. But we're both starting to worry if the risk is worth it.
I've been waiting 13 days for cabelas to release a purchase from them ??? I've never had to wait this long ever before......... why ?? Kentucky is the worst experience I've ever had ...........

I'm at a dead end here - I asked the person before I made the decision for it and they mislead me and wouldn't give me a straight answer. ( The exact same thing happened to my son at a different store ) Thank You for your advice here .

@brianarnold4368 to my understanding federal law now requires a "cool down period" for anyone 18-21 years old. I have also heard of people that have bought many firearms before be told they'll have to wait a few days due to there background check but that has never happened to me. If you have a ccdw, you do not have to do a background check when purchasing a firearm due to the state runs a background check on you every 30 days.

THIS NO LONGER APPLIES IN MANY STORES ...... SOME STORES REFUSE TO RELEASE IT TO YOU UNTIL THE FED'S GIVE A GREEN LIGHT REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE FORM SAYS RIGHT ON IT !!! You can only own long rifles under 21 if you wanna purchase a handgun you need to be 21, if you were 21 yes you can keep it in your car loaded or unloaded i believe, no license needed just tell the officer you are carrying when you get pulled over

not that we know of... but there are other methods of self protection that she can carry like pepper spray!

What about owning a gun if you have a DV that is not a felony. Will you go to jail for having or carrying a gun if you have that conviction?

No- you do not have to have a CCW permit in order to buy a firearm
