You can definitely improve your system's speed, ability to multitask and process heavy workload programs with ease by upgrading the RAM 🤓Awesome and informative video, great work as always Mike! 👍
Good to watch your work - I did change the RAM and installed an SSD in my daughters old laptop that she was going to chuck out - also an HP and milions of tiny screws - very fiddley but worth it 😀
Interesting upgrade, i assumed the ram would have to match as in desktops. Sadly our laptop overheats & so old cant buy parts & parked in a drawer gathering dust lol I bet your upgrade is cheaper than attempting to buy from hp! Thanks for sharing Mike and Kath👍
with most laptops now dual channel is still working but doesn't need to be matched pairs and this is more evident on laptops with soldered on RAM that is not removeable or replaceable
You should do upgrades commercially 😃 My old Toshiba had a trapdoor to change/upgrade RAM, also had another cover to replace HDD. My MSI GF63 Thin is like the HP, got to just about totally disassemble it just to add 1 SODIMM or storage. HP (and other brands) also love using SODIMMs in a few of their lower end Desktops, so always check correct RAM needed before purchase.
Hi, your video was very helpful, i upgraded from 4gb to 16, but i think the system has the ram speed caped at 2400 while my sticks are 3200, i tried to enable xmp in the bios but couldn't find the option, do you know if it's possible or do i have to stick to 2400 mhz?
Oh Dear PAID Vid ... Your hardly gonna say it's S..t if they Gave You the RAM.. Oh and a T-shirt ... Folks ALWAYS Disconnect the battery Regardless of What Your doing ..

Mike's How to is Worthy of a Support comment. Like & a share 🙂
sharing is caring
Great video Mike! Very clear. Shame on you HP for hiding screws under sticky strips. As someone who likes to tinker this is a big No!
For shame !
hidden screws are a real pain, and is like taking a leap of faith when trying to strip then down
