You have no idea how much I appreciate you. You are about the only one to talk about mounting a slider seat instead of a bucket one. This is incredibly helpful. Thank you so much!
@@Themazcorner It would have been useful had I seen this video before I installed my recliner seat lol, no idea that putting the backrest on last would have made my day so much easier 🤣
I have the same but with a 38 inch monitor and the ERS2 seat. The uprights are taller than they need to be, but it's not really a problem in my case because I raised the seat, as I thought it was too low in relation to the pedal plate, and it's not comfortable for me to sort of lie down. I prefer a position closer to that of a regular car. I used the alternative mounting method that they show in one of their videos on the website, attaching the seat to the 2 multi-position brackets. That means losing some front-to-back adjustment, but I added about 3 inches of height that way, and I find it much more comfortable, also with wheel and monitor at the proper height.
thanks for the input! Great that you found a workable solution for your sitting position. One option is as I mentioned in the vid is to simply cut off a portion of the uprights as they are very tall.
The tall uprights are for the motion platform and traction loss add ons. I cut 3" off of mine, not planning on going motion. Aside from that, I love my F-GT Elite cockpit.
@@Japspre You could hand saw it off on the spot. But for best result I would at least take them of and secure them properly and use a miter saw or hand saw
As for the supports in the way of the monitor.. Aluminum is extremely easy to cut and then cap off at the height you want , use a level after you have your seat and wheel base set the way you want it then , mark the uprights about 2 inches up from the wheel base holder , remove and cut !! It's that easy ! Use a circular saw with a metal blade , the cut will be smooth and straight then reinstall and use the cap !! Done and no more high supports !!! I mean it's really easy and an easy fix !
Thank you, glad you liked it. The F-GT seems to a really nice piece of kit. Agreed the cockpit feels very rigid, no bending or flexing from what I could feel
Got the exact rig , seat , monitor mount and monitor ..´ good experience so far . I play in VR most of the time but when I use the monitor , I would like it closer but overall it is said this monitor is bets viewed between 2 and 3 feet, at 27 inches I’m right there
Is that the samsung odyssey g9 monitor? im having trouble mounting mine because the bolt size is different on the mount that samsung gives compared to next level racing’s when the holes are lined up together. How did you mount it?
That is correct! I did not have any issues with that as far as I remember! There are two VESA plates included and those have standard bolt patterns which should line up with the adapter that is included with the monitor
Hey, Great review. Would you say that the flex on the seat is noticeable when driving in focus? I’ve plan on buying the ERS1 but the flex does worry me a bit. Thanks
Thank you! Glad you liked it. Haha the one man show for mounting the monitor is not nice :D either way I would suggest getting Vario Vesa mounts from Sim-lab makes things so much easier!
By the way, on the pedal bracket, I see another hole above. Does that allow you to raise the pedal arms one notch higher? Would be good if so, for those who will raise the seats higher too.
This rig is a beast the monitor stand is too far ur right plus its blocked the the rig in 2 spots. Best bet would be getting a shaft extension to make ur wheel sit further from the wheelbase and put the monitor inbetween the wheel and wheelbase, with a freestanding stand or wall mount.
I've got my screen between my wheelbase and wheel, but I have a regular 8020 rig, and the uprights are standing truly upright which makes it easy to put the screen there, I don't think I'd be able to do that with this rig. Also my screen is a 43" TV/Monitor that hangs on a foldable TV arm from the wall, it's amazing to have a correct POV of near 90degrees, gives you such a better sense of speed!!! Anyway, came to this video because of the seat, I have a recliner seat from GT Omega but it suuuuuuucks because it only locks on one side, how's the backrest locking mechanism of this seat???
I'm probably too late, just got the ESR1 and it feels quite sturdy with both side locking. I only have V3 pedals (which I still need to install), but it looks like there won't be much movement when braking hard with those.
@Themazcorner haha, no problem. I see, thanks. Wanted to get better idea of length of this rig. Wanted the F-GT but worried pedals may be too far,due to the way the pedal bars are placed behind the slant bars.
Great video and love all the tips and tricks as far as mounting the seat and such but i was curious as i purchased the f-gt elite as i want both F1 and GT seating options in one, i see you have the side mounts for the seat to adjust the angle of the seat but you didn't mount it to the chassis. Is it just not possible or was it a preference thing? I like the idea of being able to angle the seat in an F1 style position but my size doesn't allow me to fit in a hard molded bucket seat. Thanks for your help and advice.
Thank you, glad you liked the video! I followed the instructions for the sake of the review. If I recall it correctly the RS1 seat does not have any mounting points for the brackets on the side. If you e.g. go for a Recaro seat with separate seat slider you can mount the such brackets to the seat. I have a video on my installation for my GT1 Evo cockpit with such setup (had the bracket in the "wrong" direction in the video though 😁) The GT1 Evo installation: Batmans sim rig Sim-lab GT1 EVO with Fanatec Podium DD2, Heusinkveld sprint Pedals and Sparco seat ua-cam.com/video/UYV8uGA2Qu8/v-deo.html
@@Themazcorner sorry, I meant to ask the maximum height (distance from ground to the top of seat), when seat is at the highest point of the bracket. Also, is there an addon to install side monitors, for triples?
The side pillars are so high because it’s built to hold the motion platform v3 for the seat, but it’s awkward because your seat moves wile your wheel, shifter and pedals stay still.
