The EverSolo DMP-A6 Streamer is an all in one digital music streamer and converter. It is housed in an all metal enclosure and also has balanced and RCA outputs. This piece has dual DAC’s or you can use it with an external DAC as a high end streamer. I compared this to the Bluesound Node, Lumin U2 Mini and Lumin U2 and I chose to keep the DMP-A6 for my streamer, at least for the near future.
This is a high quality and yes, even high end performing unit when used as a streamer only and it offers up a bug free and lag free performance. The app is also top notch, for me besting the Lumin app.
For under $900 this is the bargain of the decade for HiFi and I highly recommend it.
The EverSolo Dip A6 is new for 2023 and I predict will be a very popular streamer for those new to streaming or to those looking for an upgrade from their computers or lower end streamers.
The built in DAC performance of the A6 is nice but not reference level as one would imagine but for me it did best the nodes built in dac.
I LOVE this streamer because its affordable for what it is, and that is a rarity these days in audio. Oh, it also felt right at home in my reference system when used as a streamer. All for under $1000.

A lot of quality hifi products are being these days, that the differences between high end brands and midrange brands isn’t that much.
This looks fantastic and will force others to think about their price points. I thinks it’s beyond genius in how they take advantage of their screen interface and how freaking cool it looks!! Can you completely turn off the screen?? I would think you could. And MQA Decoding?!! Wow!! And the best point you’ve made is “are other ‘BETTER’ sounding streamers thousands of dollars better!?” Oh and I see you can dim the screen to “0”!! Wow…..fantastic….and geezuss!!…..Balanced outputs as well with HDMI and USB-C!!! You are right….this thing is definitely the Streaming Bargain of the Year!! I was looking to upgrade my Node2i, but damn…you’ve just reviewed my next and probably last component in my system!! Great review!!

What's the 2 USB slot for? Can you insert HDDs and play flacs?
@@francomendoza5151 Actually, there are three USB slots. One for Signal out, one for external USB storage and one for OTG (type C).
Android 11 based...So many excellent features, even a NVME SSD slot (2TB), CD-Ripping, media management...very interesting. I REALLY hope they maintain the Android 11 OS inside with security updates and a have path to Android 12 & 13...
The cd ripping aspect is also super appealing

Yes, I spent $5000 on my HiFi Rose RS150B and I would do it again. However, this EverSolo DMP-A6 Streamer looks like a great value.

Based on your rave review I placed an order and received a unit last week. Eversolo wasnt expecting to be classed as a Bluesound Node killer. Demand must be off the charts. Never thought I'd be an early adopter. Only 500 downloads of their Android controller app so far and a handful of posts on their user forum. Sonically I agree its a Node-killer but Bluesound offers a friendlier user experience. More versatility = more complexity.

Wish you would spend more time talking about native hardware (DACs) instead of honorable mentions. Node, Hifi Rose, and now this… who buys this to connect to T+A, DAVE or DCS DAC? Not knocking using an external DAC. I use and am looking to upgrade my node with both a chord qutest and Hegel internal DAC. Would be nice to see a DAC in the same general price range as the streamer. Holo May, Venus, etc. I realize I am the pot calling the kettle black since I’m using a H390 to drive Maggie .7s. 😂. At the end of the day, thanks for reviewing and posting! I do enjoy your reviews.

Definitely a HiFi Rose clone, but I would be curious to see how this thing sound compare to the HiFi Rose RS150B at $5K
Yep, Eversolo plays native Apple Music for hi-res lossless.
And I've upgraded the Eversolo's power supply to a quieter linear power supply by Beatechnik.
The thing about software is it requires the company's continuous commitment and investment, otherwise they will become laggy, buggy or outdated over time. It would be interesting to know just how commited this company is in the long term. It seems to be a brilliant start for them though.
I just made the same comment above. The alternative is to release it as open source as Logitech did, their streaming hardware is still in use 25 years later because the squeezelite software is still being developed by the community.
what about warranty, service level? It seems you can't buy it just like an imported product without any local dealer (at least in EU). It should matter as well! And BTW where to buy it??? Just because you received it for free at home.. it doesn't mean you can pass over these important aspects...

They should put 2 Hypex or Purify 100W modules in this and make an integrated amp for $1500.
From what I heard MQA filed for bankruptcy and Tidal is probably going to ditch MQA and offer their hi-res music in FLAC format. So if you buy this streamer, remember you're paying extra for the MQA licensing.
You're correct but I honestly feel this product is underpriced. For all it's features (and how it sounds) it should be between $1500-$2000. I might have still bought it. $859 is a steal.
I wish it had a spectrum analyzer and peak level meters in addition to the vu meters.

Could someone explain why DMP-a6 MASTER EDITION is that much more expensive? Only difference is few opa chips + clock system. I´m trying to figure out if it is justified to pay more and order Master edition.
The front logo is in gold which makes +500 €. Opamp price difference is 6 €.

If you want to use this only as a streamer and you connect this to your external dac via digital output, how do you know if you are not using just the eversolo dac? is there any setting configuration you have to do in the eversolo? in the case you have an expensive dac like the T A 200, it would be a shame to use the streamer dac. Thanks for the review. As it has a volume control I was thinking of using this as a preamp as well, but I see it does not have any analog inputs (which makes sense of course). If they had added one, it would have been a great choice for a preamp.
Why do all those streamers not support multichannel sound like Flac multichannel etc. , Tidal Atmos, Amazon Music Atmos? In other words, which device can do this?
Not sure about tidal etc but the page for the a6 says the hdmi out supports multichannel dsd which I've never seen in a streamer before so that's cool

I had the U2 mini for a couple of weeks and sent it back because the app was not ready for prime time in my opinion.
Where was this a couple years back when I got my Bluesound Vault. This looks great.
What’s your experience with the Vault? I’ve been considering that one myself.
@@noself1028 had it a couple years now. So far it's been great. Has a hard drive to store your CDs and a physical drive to rip them. I wish it had a front display or ability for on screen content.
I added a Pulse 2i speaker for our pool area. Everything can run through both BluOS app or Tidal. Syncs perfect on both devices without any weird lag.
99% of what I listen to now is streamed Tidal. Have the CDs backed up but never need to listen to them since Tidal is so easy to bring a song/album up.
Now they're about to come up with the DMP A8... and considering the reference AKM chipset it uses & the price they're asking, everybody else should just pack up and go home :)
This device made be even more popular than even the A6. Eversolo / Zidoo is definitely one to watch.

Was the best streamer. Just updated the firmware, now it won't do random play of all tracks on the drive.
I've had to install Neutron player, which was really difficult to do.
Hopefully, they will correct this disaster of an update .

you should now review the DMP-A6 Master that comes with integrated linear power supply + something else... that costs about 1,7k euro and... the question is: if this "stndard" version is close to Lumin U2 Mini will the Master version be close to LuminU2 that costs 5 grand?
It has a much better clock and from what I read a noticeable difference in SQ but most have agreed its not worth the extra $400, which would be even more in euro I believe.

How does it do on playing music from your library? If you select an album, does it auto-play the next track? Is it gapless? Do it have its own organization or do you have to use an existing DLNA manager? Do you have to scroll through long lists or are there a point-and-click grouping paradigms?

How do these streamers compare with using a Mac laptop or mini via USB into a galvanicly isolated DAC usb input?
Does the HDMI out support eARC? I am considering this or the bluesound node to serve as a streamer for my stereo hifi system but also to be the DAC interface from the TV to the hifi system. 3 remotes to control audio from the TV is overkill so eARC is a must.

You require an amplifier if you have passive speakers. If you have active speakers, you are fine.

Put a dac2HD top hat on a raspberry pi, get a case install Volumio $200 dollars, doesn't look as nice, but also hardly takes up any space.
Ifi Zen stream changed everything, much better than node for $400. No dac though
After level matching, Zen doesn’t sound better than the NODE . Maybe when the NODE didn’t have a USB connection , the Zen had a slight difference in sound. Most people were comparing the Node used as a streamer-DAC with the Zen streamer only . As transports they sound similar.
@@miquifaye I have tested a lot of entry level streamers like the Sotm sms200, the Microrendu, and the Node as transports connected to my dac through usb.
To my ears the Node sounded no better than my McBook computer as a transport.
It's functionality was great but not the sound.
The Zen stream was the best of the bunch topping the sotm.
I used the original Node mind you not the latest version.

This is the reason I am here! Always on the lookout to find a new digital pre/streamer to pair w/ my GaN 1. Considering U2 Mini, Minidsp shd studio, ifi Neo stream, etc. the new Holo red dds/streamer looks interesting, but I think you’d have to control volume separately? The digital volume is the nut I’m trying to crack. Most handle it in the 24bit domain and I’m looking for 32bit volume (lossy vs lossless).

How does it compare to the Innuos? I think more stramers need to incorporate CD ripping drives and storage. What the heck are we supposed to do with our 400 cds?
Rip them on you laptop/PC it's quicker, and put them on a now very cheap USB stick, then plug that in one of this units USB Sockets (Rear) Sorted.

You can still upgrade the Bluesound Node gen 3 power supply, it will make it a much better sounding streamer.
Teddypardo and pd-cf (pd creative) designed their own mods for this streamer.
I have one from pd creative for the Node 2i and I am a happy listener.
A streamer does not affect the sound at all. DAC does. It makes zero difference which power supply you use in your streamer :)

A streamer absolutely affects the sound if it has a cheap noisy power supply and the power supply in all Node models are cheap and noisy (and prone to fail on the pre N130 models).
@@thehawk05 Just stop already. It has been scientifically PROVEN that nothing that happens in the streamer affects the bit perfect transmission protocol. It doesn't matter how dirty the power is in the streamer, it sends communication packets which have to be 100% accurate or they get resent. There is only 1 or 0, nothing in between. You just don't have a clue on how digital interfaces work. I suggest checking audiosciencereview channels deep explanation on the subject.
If I have a rule in the nucleus and I am very happy with the interface and controlling it from my iPad with Roon And using some of it's DSP functions, can that be done because you keep bringing up the app that comes with this unit. I'm sort of confused.
Best one is an older used MacBook A 2:05 ir + Audirvana with client.

Yes. Apple music lossless and hires is bitperfect. Excellent quality, zero complaints.
I don’t enjoy or use spatial, sorry, cannot help there.
Hello, may I ask 2 questions: 1) Can this streamer send the signal via WiFi to my wireless speakers? I would like to have the streamer displayed nearby for visibility but the speakers are fixed farther away. 2) If not, could I accomplish this another way?
I don't want to run a long speaker cord across my room.
