Hay Cutting at Trumpington Meadows!

- 🍂Summer is over and our wildflower meadows have now all been cut for the year.
🌾It’s vital that we cut them back and remove the nutrients from the soil every year to ensure the right conditions for wildflowers.
🐦🦋Wildflower meadows support a range of insects, birds and other species - but we’ve lost 97% over the past century. We’re doing everything we can to restore and protect sites like Trumpington Meadows In Cambridge.

Hi, I cut my own grass at the start of September. I have a pile of hay left in a corner of the garden. Will the nutrients "leak" from this pile of hay and spread around the garden eventually or will the nutrients stay localised where the hay pile is? I am aware that wildflowers don't thrive in high nutrient ground so I am concerned about "leakage" of nutrients back into the garden.
The area is roughly 10 metres by 17 metres.
Thanks 🙂
